Canibus - Good Equals Evil Lyrics

A man pays dues, do this become an angel
Good and evil, a man stays true
There are other ways to win
Good and Evil, it's the same thing

A decade after my debut, the game changed; I got the same views
To me it's just baseball and I'm Babe Ruth
Bambata from Planet Rock, trade op commander Hip Hop
What? We grimlock smash Spitbox
You can never be the best, until you complete the competency test
With rap pattern parameters I set
Are you deaf? Do you need me to repeat what I said?
I said you'll never be the best unless you pass this test
Okay, fill out registration form 88,
Name, social, date of birth, address, city and state
When the form is complete pass it on to Angela Clark
To determine your eligibility and get you insured
Every morning the board panel assembly judges man by his bars
Courage of heart and what he offers the cause
If he's accepted he'll be sworn in tomorrow
If he's rejected he's recycled and retested on stage at the Apollo
I had to and so do you, are you solid or hollow?
Depression is normal, a challenge to climb out of your sorrow
Forget about the world around you, the truth is
They are nothing without you but you will be nothing without the truth

A man stays true, a man pays dues
If a man can do this, the man become an angel
There are other ways to win, a consequence for every sin
But we are blind because Good and Evil is the same thing

Do not be confused by the choice of words used
For every battle we win, there's something we lose
But you still have to choose and choosing not to choose is still a choice
Sometimes silence is a powerful voice
The body is of no use if the mind is enslaved
But theses slaves can not bind your light or your sound waves
However, we must to train to increase our strength
The final test is presented when we least expect
We look forward, we see 180 degrees, what's left?
We eyeball right to left but see nothing, what's next?
180 degrees of regret, what's that?
It's everything we left behind unchecked, it wants revenge
They want revenge against us because we fight for our freedoms
Die for what we believe in and they know we don't need 'em
I know you disagree, you think it's fortune cookie shit
But I guarantee you this, our future was prefixed

A man stays true, a man pays dues
If a man can do this, the man become an angel
There are other ways to win, a consequence for every sin
But we are blind because Good and Evil is the same thing
A man stays true, a man pays dues
If a man can do this, the man become an angel
There are other ways to win, a consequence for every sin
But we are blind because Good and Evil is the same thing

I look towards the sky for the answers to why
I analyze the great divide and saw God on both sides
God didn't do this, we did this to each other
So keep his name out your mouth, you fucking cock suckers
How could you own all of it, when we are all apart of this?
The Earth belongs to every living thing that walks upon it
We are all perfect creations, with imperfect justifications
But just the patient fuck the subject of Satan
The Universe is too huge, does Satan live out their too?
Or is he just after me and you?
Believe what you perceive
Look at the Sun, tell what do you see? 360 degrees of light beams
Illuminating Hip Hop, Spitboss'll bag your pops
You ain't ready for the shit that I got
It's called Hip Hop homey, that's the only way that you know me
And knowing people can still be lonely
At the Maharaji spa for the whole week
I just go to sleep because when I wake up I am not an emcee
I get back on the clock when I hear the next beat
I'll write about another century of heat, I'm a beast

A man stays true, a man pays dues
If a man can do this, the man become an angel
There are other ways to win, a consequence for every sin
But we are blind because Good and Evil is the same thing
A man stays true, a man pays dues
If a man can do this, the man become an angel
There are other ways to win, a consequence for every sin
But we are blind because Good and Evil is the same thing

Good and evil is NOT the same thing... Jesus Christ Canibus even you have fallen for the illuminate propaganda. You were the last one I was expecting to fall...

    S.... F....

What that means is good works to preserve it's self and it's environment. Evil does the same thing. Good seeks to eradicate evil. Evil does the same thing. To God good is a what if. To God evil is the same thing. Eye of the Beholder. Peace to you and yours.

    S.... F....

Good and evil are same in nature but different in degree. Evil is entirely subjective, as the only thing that matters are the positive sides of polarity. If you aren't manifesting positive experiences, it's projection (positive is to negative as good is to evil). Good and evil ARE the same thing.

    @MisterUrbanWorld LOL yeah

    I.... 3....

@Tony Starks Thought so lol, i was laughing hard when I read a comment someone said to you. The dude said Eminem has stronger lyrics LOL, i couldn't stop laughing.

    I.... 3....

@MisterUrbanWorld LoL eminem stans confuse complex rhyme schemes with complex rhymes. Eminem might set his rhymes up with more multis than bis does but nothing em says goes over my head or is complex LOL.

    I.... 3....

@Tony Starks Something isn't right about the mainstream scene, and the corporations are very suspicious. The artist they sign don't sell well (happens over & over again), and most popular underground artist have a solid fan base, so it's beyond me why they won't sign these emcees. It would make more sense to sign them, because they actually sell, and if they don't, once they're on television they'd definitely get one of the top spots they deserve. This is why I believe the illuminati exist. They constantly sign illiterate rappers, and push this negative stereotypical propaganda. I can't watch that sh!t. Lol random rant, but that's how I see it.

  13. J.... ....

Me wanting you to logically explain your beliefs means I have a "disgusting desire" and an "irrational craving"? Everything I said is based on reason and logic. Your arguments, on the other hand, eptomize irrationality and delusion. You can't defend your beliefs, because they're indefensible, so you opt instead to insult me in an attempt to discredit what I said. That's cool bro. Believe what you want. Just know that your beliefs have no basis in reality. You just make unsubstantiated claims.

  14. D.... ....

That's cool bro, I'm busy and could care less what some delusional troll says on the internet. You clearly have nothing better to do. You have a disgusting desire to provoke someone over the internet over a touchy subject. Monotheism is progression from Canibus' earlier interpretation of Genesis 1:26 in Channel Zero of God being polytheistic, because in Hebrew, the plural for Elohim indicated respect and not actual plurality. Now go outside and stop wasting my time with your irrational cravings.

    D.... ....

I also believe elohim also refers to the holy trinity ✌⌛🐣🕊

    D.... ....

    Nl
O Elohim does not mean Holy Trinity....

    D.... ....

You obviously cared enough to write a comment about him.

  15. J.... ....

You continue to make irrational assertions without even attempting to offer supporting evidence. You haven't back up one single claim. You have given no reason as to why monotheism is indicative of progression. You admittedly believe in an unfalsifiable god, which is irrational by definiton. What you call “God” is merely a nebulous concept that is arbitrarily credited for various phenomena. That which qualifies as representative of the divine is determined solely by individual predilection.

  16. J.... ....

First, I don't care what you think is pathetic. I'm sorry that having your beliefs questioned frustrates you. I didn't misinterpret you; I responded to what you said. In the previous instance, I quoted you exactly and discredited your assertions. Perhaps you should take care to say what you actually mean so your comments don't have contradictions and easily debunked fallacies. My exegesis is founded on logic. Based on the irrationality of your responses, I can see why that might bother you.

  17. D.... ....

Why are you making such a big deal out of this? You misinterpreted me, then use your misinterpretations to attack me. It is utterly pathetic that you are willing to go to such extreme lengths just to formulate a reply that further attempts to provoke me. I am basing the attributes that I associate with God based on the only direct source we have, scriptures. That cannot be said in a simpler way. If you cannot interpret that, then I can't imagine you attempting to conduct exegesis on scriptures.

  18. J.... ....

I did not distort what you said at all. You clearly said "God provides attributes of himself in divine revelations...all I know is what God has allowed me to know." By saying you know God revealed things, you implicity claim to know that God exists. You can't logically claim God revealed something if you don't also claim to know God exists. Now you claim that God's existence is beyond knowledge, which contradicts the implications inherent in your assertion that divine revelations have occured.

    J.... ....

JimmyCrlc but god is just a word. In the sense he was talking about (i think) it basically means ultimate reality. We can only learn/achieve what the universe/reality/god allows us to. The point is to recognise and feel our dependence in relation to this reality. Thats how i understand it anyway

  19. D.... ....

You are completely distorting what I said. I said I only know as much as God has revealed. I never said that I know he exists because he allowed it. I don't know that God exists, and nobody on this planet knows that he does or does not exist. Nobody will ever know until they die. There is no 100% stance, otherwise there would be no purpose in life (from a theological perspective).

  20. J.... ....

It's incoherent. In order to know God's nature can't be fully understood, you first need to know what God's fundemental nature is. It's a catch-22. You can't logically claim that it is impossible for one to fully comprehend God's nature because you admittedly don't know what God's fundemental nature is. How do you know that it is God who has revealed his attributes if you don't even know what God is? You claim to know God exists because he allowed you to know it; How is that not circular logic?

  21. D.... ....

Well you cannot entirely comprehend God's nature, but most monotheists will come to the consensus that the Judeo-Christian God (YHWH) is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. God provides attributes of himself in divine revelations, these attributes are not something I fabricated. All I know is what God has allowed me to know. Is that too hard to understand?

  22. J.... ....

I did not mean to be condescending; I'm sorry you took it that way. I agree that one need not need fully comprehend something to know that it exists, but that's not the issue here. You claimed to know that God's nature is incomprehensible, while simultaneously claiming to know at least some of his attributes; this lacks coherency. I did not argue that polytheism is true, so I didn't argue from silence. I only pointed out that the reasons you gave for rejecting it were arguments from ignorance.

  23. D.... ....

Your condescending reply was unnecessary, due to the limit, I cannot entirely define everything. You do not need to completely comprehend something to know it exists, maybe you should view some observations from the scientific community to understand that. Does consciousness exist? Does gravity exist? You are using the logical fallacy of argument from silence, just because nothing negates the possibility of polytheism does not mean it is true. There are severe theological issues with polytheism.

  24. J.... ....

A baromenter doesn't tell the future weather; it measures atmospheric pressure that is analyzed and used to predict what type of weather will most likely be observed. This is not analogous to an omnipotent creator god who absolutely knows the outcome of every event that will ever occur. If God's nature is incomprehensible, how do you know God exists? Just because you don't know how multiple gods would work in unison doesn't mean they are incapable of doing so; that is an argument from ignorance.

  25. D.... ....

Foreknowledge and predestination are two different things. For example, a barometer can tell the future weather, but it is not the force responsible for the change in weather. You would be foolish to attempt to comprehend the incomprehensible nature of God, similar to how foolish it is to attribute divinity to Christ in the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. The problem with Polytheism is that it would these separate entities work unison? What attributes are considered divine? The list goes on..

  26. J.... ....

Please excuse me if I misrepresented the doctrine of predestination. Will you define it? I don't know what you mean by "God", so I don't understand how you can know "God is omniscient." But, if you accept the typical attributes ascribed to the Christian God, like omnicience, you most likely accept he is omnipotent as well. Will you explain how human free will is compatible with an omnipotent, omniscient creator? Also, why do you think monotheism is superior to polytheism?

  27. D.... ....

Predestination signifies progression towards a monotheistic God. You probably are defining predestination in a Calvinist sense. which is an utterly flawed definition. Canibus now praises Jesus and has completely turned all of his theological advancements to shit. The point is, God is omniscient, that has absolutely no influence of the salvation of people being determined prior to their birth. Influencing the world and influencing the free will of people are two different things.

  28. J.... ....

Pregressing? to a monotheistic God. Believing in that signifies de-evolution. Predestination means God created people just so he could send them to hell to be tortured. Fuck that message.

    J.... ....

JimmyCrlc Question. You claimed to believe in an omnipotent God yet you don't claim predestination to its fullest because it would mean people are sent to hell without question before their birth. Understandable, but how exactly can you believe in omnipotence then? Regardless of that specific belief, if he is omnipotent then predestination technically does exist because he creates every living creatures knowing their entire life and death etc. Meaning if you think God does know all, then he creates people knowingly so they can go to hell. Contradiction after contradiction. He specifically creates children to suffer and go to hell that never will or even could hear about the scriptures or even the name Jesus. Your logic is quite interesting.

  29. T.... ....

I am generating a tranquilty zone the zone will extend a 20 blocks squared it will contain tsunamis of anguish anguish and sorrows that will continuolsy strike all in my path and perimeter this goes to all warring with me for those trigger men bullet ant will disable your fingers all trigger men in this city who taken on the challenge to murder me or my family will get stung a instant tsunami of panic will strike opportunist on sight of me let it begin.

  30. J.... ....

@deviIstudios Hmmm your views on the lyrics are very cloudy, this is not necessarily what he was saying, and I know for a fact he wasn't speaking of predestination in religion as much as the global enslavement by the media and illuminatic puppet show. He was however paying his respect to God with the second stanza, but more or less he meant everything that is bad that happens to humans is caused by humans. Therefore we are the ones that have to change it.
