This band deserves way more attention than what they currently have. Their songs are beautiful. This album I'm hearing a mix of Corey Taylor Soulfly type sound, Sevendust, and old Korn. GORGEOUS!!!!

They have a more mature sound and I think the nu metal elements are starting to come into play by moving away from metalcore. Was a huge fan of Smile, but this is the perfect sequel to the debut. Glad this sound has returned from the late 90s to early 00's.

+ Seymore Butts Or, I can compare them both and only enjoy one of them (cough, cough) Cane Hill (cough, cough). No, I'm joking, I did enjoy both, but Defy was SO fucking generic and underwhelming but did have a couple songs where I said: "hey, that's pretty good". While this was new and fresh (to me) and every single song was fucking great and didn't sound like shitty radio rock songs with the lyrical depth of a kiddy pool. And I don't care for Aaron's screams too much, they're kind of ass.

@silentevil77 Or maybe some kind of heavy drug abuse which can also lead to loss or distortion of memory, at least that's what I experienced with a close friend of mine. These songs are pretty dramatic, sad, and meaningful though, no matter what exactly they're about :D I love Cane Hill for their versatility

As far as I'm concerned: "Why?" is about the Guitarist, he was going through a bad relationship.
"Erased" is about the Drummers Grandfather who has altzheimers. and the whole album is about death so they definetly grown up and stuff
