Campbell, Glen - Elusive Butterfly Lyrics
You might wake up some morning
To the sound of something moving past your window in the wind
And if you're quick enough to rise
You'll catch the fleeting glimpse of someone's fading shadow
Out on the new horizon you may see the floating motion of a distant pair of wings
You might hear footsteps running through an open meadow
Don't be concerned it will not harm you
It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of
Across my dreams with nets of wonder I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
You might have heard my footsteps
Echo softly in the distance through the canyons of your mind
I might have even called your name as I ran searching after something to believe in You might have seen me runnin'
Through the long abandonned ruins of the dreams you left behind
If you remember something there
Don't be concerned it will not harm you
It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of
Across my dreams with nets of wonder I chase the bright elusive butterfly of love
I chase the bright butterfly of love I chase the bright butterfly of love
Bu-bu-bu-butterfly of love bu-bu-bu-butterfly of love

Campbell, Glen Elusive Butterfly Comments
Lind was the under rewarded one of this beautiful medley
Fantastic
i dunno yall, compared to the Bob Lind version - the Glen Cambell "bom bom bbbb falsetto" ending is kind of dumb
I'm not offended by the tempo. Sounds like "Gentle on My Mind."
Too fast!
🤪❤❤❤❤💔🖤💀♠️⚰🦋!!!
What a brilliant talent Glen Campbell was🙏
Bob Lind !! Better.
He rushes this too much. Like the original better.
Sheer BRILLIANCE.......total Glen.........
This is too fast tempo if it was the same tempo as Bob Linds version it would be great, this seems like he's racing along to finish the song.
A great talent and a sad loss to music.
Best version.
Sweet music to my ears and memories of my childhood..
The original Bob Lind version is still the best
Lovely voice and song
💋💦💜
As I hoped it would be, Glen's take on Bob Lind's hit is sublime and I loved that riffed outro.
I find myself back here 2 years later wanting to hear this again. I listened to about 5 versions then came back to my favorite.
I love this version by Glen i wonder if one can obtain a backing track ,
Trevor Gunston

💔💔💔💔 RIP Glen Campbell...
Only words like this could be done justice to love and memory. Love this song!
great lyrics-fantastic artist
One of the best by awesome Glen!!
He does this faster than the original. But he does it great.
My thoughts exactly. I think it loses a little something when it's sped up. Good version but, I prefer the original.
That's what my ex said about her new guy..
Wow, this is great version. Better than the original, actually.
Wrong wrong wrong I've heard many versions and not beat Bob Linds version I think the best cover version is Val Doonican he had a Saturday night show on the BBC many year's ago,but sadly is no longer with us.
I don't thin any of the cover versions come close to Lind's original. But at least they tried.
Really nice. Sounds a lot younger here though
whp61 probably late 60's
I love this melodi, which Glen probably had speeded up a bit. That wonderful man /could/can do any song with his encredible vocal. Tanks for sharing.
