Campbell, Glen - Ann Lyrics
I know I'll never meet another hunk of woman like my Ann
Cause she makes me feel like a great big man
I'm a gonna go tell her mama what I think about her say thank you ma'am
For giving me your daughter Ann
She sure is stacked from her toes to the pretty little nape
When I see her I believe I'm a real young guy
And every time I go to work I think I might die if I can't hurry home again
If the good Lord worked all night a makin' me a female plan
I'd say no thanks Lord I'll just keep Ann
[Strings]
How could I ever look at any other woman when I've got Ann
Oh I feel so good when she takes my hand
I'm a gonna go tell her daddy what I think about her say thank you man
When I come home and I feel like I've been run over
By a ten-ton truck she can rub my shoulders and soothe my aches and pains
If I lose my job and I'm down to a silver dollar
And I feel like a dried up gourd in a holler she soothes my brow like summer rain
If the good Lord worked all night a making me a female plan
I'd say no thanks you Lord I'll just keep Ann
Oh no thanks you Lord I'll just keep Ann

Campbell, Glen Ann Comments
My life in regard to listening to music took a major turn for the better when I was in my mid-teens. I'm talking the 70's here. Most of my friends and family bought singles, 45's, when they liked a given song. For you buck and a quarter you got the song you wanted and the B side--two songs. One day I realized I could spend $5 or $6 and get those 2 songs, plus a whole lot more music if I bought the LP on which the single I liked was featured. Thus began my ability to listen to all 8-10 songs on the album, including songs I'd have never heard otherwise. This was one of the 'other' album cuts that I still love to this day. I might never had heard it if I hadn't bought the album--a much better decision by far.
This is pure country memories. My favorite album cut from the album Wichita Lineman.
Certainly one of them - loved this song as a kid.
I first heard this on a 1968 Bing Crosby Christmas Special. ++
Thanks for posting this. My sister would have been 48 today.
Sure do miss you,
Annie Fo Fannie.
See you on the other side.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Kenny Dobbins Thank you.
You're welcome.
