Camel - Who We Are Lyrics

Hotel rooms, sleeping rooms
In this strange life I lead
Occasional friends, likewise lovers
Never wanting what I need

If you could be
Here close to me
I know - love
We were meant for each other
We will love one another
And it won't really matter at all
Who we are

Wake-up calls in the morning
The empty night fades away
You're still there, I'm still thinking
Words I always meant to say

Prefer their earlier stuff but this is still great. Most stuff from Camel is in my top 5 all time best bands.

Earlier line up cant match musicianship here. This song isnt still great. Its one of the best.

In my opinion, bands like Queen prove that great musicianship doesn't always equal great music. I like this song a lot and I love everything up to and including Moonmadness, but I can understand how some might like that earlier stuff more.

@SyphroJ Its good once and for all everyone to understand this. The band wanted those changes. I can can hear clearly why. They wanted style changes and members changes. Earlier stuff is good as well but they sound to me some kind of school band level. Noone is near Kit Watkins , such passion in lead keyboards. Collin Bass as well, great team with Andy Ward, Schelhaas as second keyboard player...And sir, can you point me better song than Ice? From your favorite earlier stuff? I know very few people like "Who we are" as I do, but Ice...cmon... Its song from the same "weak" album...

They knew they must set the bar higher. Andy Ward wanted better bass player, Mel Colins as sax in the band too... Ward never thought Ferguson is any kind of serious bass player. And i can hear that too. So, its good to respect at least Andy Ward statement. The rest of members stood with Andy Ward . And there was a reason. They needed a progress. And here we can hear it in this song.

@Lyubomir Dzhumbishliev my favorite Camel song is Another Night, from my favorite Camel album, Moonmadness

Esta banda marcou a minha juventude

Watkins and Schelhaas moved that band to the sky highs here, in this song. Top lineup.

I’ve been obsessed with this song for decades. Finally Sunday on my favorite radio broadcast and the help of SoundHound the song is now mine to listen to as often as I’d like.👍
