Camel - Refugee Lyrics
There's a rumor flying through the air;
Paranoia's creeping everywhere.
You're gonna raise a wall
to draw the line.
I hear them all the time
You say it's talking treason
and a crime...
to question why.
Don't you know I've seen this all before?
History repeats itself once more.
I don't want to go
and I can't stay.
I hear them all the time.
You say it's talking treason
and a crime...
to question why.
I don't want to be a refugee,
I just want a single guarantee.
I don't want to be a refugee,
I just want the right to disagree.

One of the greatest bands ever
Great Bass Play!
Can anyone give an analysis on the meaning of this song (couple sentences to get ideas for music project)
2 years late but might help anyone doesn't know the context of the album, here it goes. Basically the whole album is centered around the whole Berlin Wall situation. This song broadly summarize the zeitgeist of Berlin pre-wall, with rumors of the idea of building a wall and reasons the Eastern Block give for it. (It's not said in this song but the reason to built the wall as soviets say it, is to protect the people from western expansion since in both world wars western powers i.e. germany were the aggressors and invaded the east i.e. Russia) In the next song, Vopos, the wall actually gets built up and so on.
While this whole subject is in it's essence very political, this album offers the perspective of the common people, living their everyday lives under the distress of being isolated from the world, or at least that's how i see it.
Best music ,ever , my original LP got lost in a flood where I live , a long lost love found through youtube here...
Richard Sinclair plying a bass line this lame? The drums were programmed, too.
Latimer on bass here, not Sinclair

Danzando entre lluvias ...!
... "Do not you know I've seen this all before?

I do not want to go

Too pedestrian for me. Sounds more like Alan Parsons project than Camel.
