Always imagined this song as a metaphor for someone who put more work into their career and even If all was for the greater good for the one he loved, the lack of attention caused the girls memories of that love to ultimately fade away.

It was Scott Karnes that played the corporate character in this music video. This was posted December 9, 2019 on Scott Karnes Facebook page by his close friend, David Cervone. Today would have been Scott Karnes 59th birthday. He passed away on Sept 7th (2019). I met Scott in 1997 while skating in Golden Gate Park. I really loved his character, he was indeed a fighter and a strong athlete. Scott did indeed go the distance while suffering the debilitating symptoms from MS for exactly twenty years. Thank you Cake, for preserving his memory.
