This song got me through divorce and the temporary taking of my boys.

That gaping hole was once a foundation... leaving a relationship and looking back, this line hit me.

My favorite thing about CAKE as a band is that there is always at least one song that is an instant classic on every album they release. This is one of such songs from, quite frankly, one of their most underappreciated albums.

One of my scout leaders played this album in his car while he drove us to a camping site like 13 years ago. I didn't know the name of the band of the album but some of the songs I heard then have stuck with me. Today for some reason I used some of the lyrics I remembered to find this video and this band. Glad I did, wish I'd done it earlier.

Still amazing 14 years later.

At around the age of 8 i met my best friend who introduced me to cake. Throughout the years i grew close to his family, close enough that a basically lived with them dispite having a home with my blood family. Around 15 years of age i moved out of my blood mothers house and in with said friend and his family, they considered me one of thiers. Its been 11 years since i was taken in to that family, and i have my own home and a wife and daughter, but every time i hear even the first few notes of this song it takes me back to the days when i first heard it with my best friend who i consider my brother. Recently within last half year our mother passed away many hardships and health issues throughout her life, and this song cuts me so deep every time i hear it now, but along with the pain is the the reward of knowing i was so blessed to be part of these peoples lives, and all of the amazing memories of my addopted family. I cant help but get teary eyed even while typing this, but i recon thats what music is meant to do. I love the band Cake so very much, and im so greatfull for the ways they have helped me through life in hard times. I only wish i had taken the time to tell mom thank you for every little thing she ever did, i hope she knows what she meant to me, and how much i will always treasure those memories. This song will always take me back to that house surrounded by great people, and through this song i am always reminded of the love and acceptance of that family. Thank you for everything Conklin family, i can never repay you, or tell you what every one of you mean to me. Thank you cake and the poster of this video for the time capsule of wonderful memories!

@miller repin You put it in the palm of your hand and motor boat it with your lips and the acoustics can be recorded. You can also finger it and the sounds from that are ok. I personally prefer it on B.L.T's
