This is my favorite song by Cake. It ends with such awkwardness. (Can't really explain it, maybe you know the brand...?) From start to near finish it follows that rare and unintentionally formula of being a hit for the masses and a really personal experience in a song. This song for instance always reminds me of a ""Deb" I once knew. The distant yet familiar diction used to describe the "Jolene" make me think of that unattainable " gem" imagined or real.
