Cake - Guitar Lyrics
I'm sitting by the,
Window of your,
Thirty-second,
Floor apartment,
For your,
Phone calls,
All to End,
I'm sitting,
watching, wind blow,Watching time go,
Watching cars go by,
I'm,
Waiting for these,
Begin,
If I,
Threw my guitar,
Out the window,
So far down,
Would I,
Start to regret it,
Or would I smile,
And watch it slowly fall, fall, fall,
Garbage trucks,
And taxi cabs,
Don't seem like they can,
Reach me here,
The clammer,
Of jackhammers,
Seems so faint,
Well, the way you treat me,
Like the only,
Slightly brings me down,
Alot
I don't think that I'll,
Ever be the same,
Yeah, If I,
Threw my guitar,
Out the window,
So far down,
Would I,
Start to regret it,
Or would I smile,
And watch it slowly fall, fall, fall,
Fall, fall, fall,
Fall, fall, fall,
Fall, fall, fall...

Licks licks licks
Theramin?
Somone at work was triggered by the theramin solo
Pretty sure it's a saw making that sound...
Definitely a musical saw. You can hear the bow scrape.
It sounds a lot like a theramin to me.
underrated and overlooked why do people not recognize good music when they hear it
A lot of people don't have the patience, energy, or will to really listen to what they're hearing. Cake is too much for them too digest. Cake is made from scratch. It is good music cultivated painstakingly with thought and care to transmit meaningful sound to those who know how to listen. To really appreciate this type of music, we have to use our brain a bit, and our heart... Be glad that we can have our Cake, and eat it too... introduce it to friends that you suspect might be able to appreciate it, and little by little you will discern the fakers, from the makers. "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." - Gene Wilder. Are they a Charlie, or just another Veruca?
@sasi wallace you're like a cheesecake :) and I like it
Gabe nelsons bass playing is fkn boner inducing. This band is and always has been amazing.
Definitely
Curious as to what you think of the bassist from Violent Femmes...
so goddamit tight. damn
Just wanted to say thanks for all the work that went into this list...great job!
+chris sims ;D i wanted to say something like dat
Finding this playlist has brought back such great, great memories from when this Album was released!!!
This is my gem :)
Cake is fucking awesome. Reel big fish meets bob Dylan and nods a cap to shakespeare.
Yeah, they are definitely a talented mixture of sounds. What they do is unique, but they pull it off so well. Damn I love their music.
@matt rodriguez And the "sound" of their studio work is so crisp! I just love them.
@heyyyyyynow Yeah, definitely.
It's funny because the description describes this album as the one that "contains the sole single "Never There".
Yet of all the Cake Playlists I've seen, I haven't seen one with that track on it!
So you're saying that it's never there? ;^)
+eschelar My playlist does :P well, then again, mine has a lot of their songs
+eschelar try looking up the album "Prolonging the Magic"
+eschelar fuck the description.
The rythm king!
I like how cake had/has so many sounds, it ranges from rap to rock to country ,all on the same album. Amazing band..
The way you treat me likely, only, slightly, brings me down a lot, I don't think that I'll ever be the same...
The way you treat me *lightly* ...
I love singing to this song
I loved this album by them most!
Dustin Diaz perhaps? not that I know him, but I follow his work online and I started listening to Cake a few years back because of his pictures :)
Just finished watching someone make a guitar shaped cake. I think I might have been in the wrong place...
a unique sound. i think i found a new favorited artist c: (thank you Dustin for the link)
Yes! I hope you're still listening. I implore you to re-visit. I mean, the comment sections speak for themselves, Cake is the real deal. I got into Cake when I was thirteen, for their sound! Now I'm twenty-five, and I've gotten back into cake again, for their lyrics! Their sound still kicks ass too, bien sur!
Cake sings about raw emotions, intricate and gritty words, disturbing and profound truths, all smoothed over by sexy bass-lines, killer guitar licks... I could go on... basically, Cake is "multi-layered" :p No, but seriously, Cake transcends genre. They're really hard to get bored of. If I were trapped on a "dessert" island, I'd want Cake to be there. Ok, ok, I'm done.
