this album was released in august 2002. at that point eminem had already released 'the slim shady lp', 'the marshall mathers lp', 'the eminem show' and '8 mile' was only a couple months away from hitting theaters. to say eminem stole any of cage's style from this album or cage in general is to completely dismiss eminem's hard earned success and achievements. their likeness is nothing more than coincidence. they both just happen to be white kids who grew up in shitty areas with shitty parents that forced them through shitty childhoods, and they both found an outlet through rap, making it no surprise that they have similar views and outlooks on life while being extremely close in age and growing up in the same era of music. eminem was just simply better, he knows lyricism down to the science and he just happened to connect with the one producer that could turn him into a superstar (dr. dre). everything is all about timing, determination, and fate, and cage fell through the cracks. theres another rapper where I'm from named tech n9ne who was/is strange and pushed to the back of the line much like cage was. sadly, this is the shit I yearn for and miss so much, while present day eminem and the rest of 2017 mainstream rap makes me bitter and hateful... smh.
