Byrds, The - Blue Canadian Rockies Lyrics
In the blue Canadian Rockies
Spring is silent through the trees
And the golden poppies are blooming
'Round the banks of Lake Louise
For that girl I left behind
And, oh, what I'd give if I could be there tonight
With the sweetheart who's waitin' for me
In the blue Canadian Rockies
Spring is silent through the trees
And the golden poppies are blooming
'Round the banks of Lake Louise
Across the sea they call me
For the blue canadian rockies
And the one I love to see
And the one I love to see

Nothing again was ever the same when this was released. Gram Parsons with a Harvard degree changed the face of music. He was the precursor to Alt/Rock and everyone from the the Jayhawks to Wilco owe him a debt of gratitude
Gram only lasted one semester at Harvard.
damn.. he graduated in one semester
Cindy Walker from Mexia Texas wrote this song many years ago. It's a great song that many artists have covered. I love this version by Gram Parsons and The Byrds.
Chris Hillman sang this, Gram Parsons played piano.
One of the best album covers ever.
If Trump wins, a lot of folks will be singing this...

Woody Woodward. This song has a special spot in my heart since I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I spent many a day around Lake Louise, and hiking and cross country skiing through Jasper National Park. My brother attended a fine arts school in Banff, and we all took in the Calgary stampede many times! Those Blue Canadian Rockies -- blue and beautiful!!
I was born near Banff.....in Scotland
Nice version of an old song. Thanks for the upload!
Someday I'll get to the banks of Lake Louise
