Not a terrible sound, and nothing against Paul, nice vocals - but c'mon, they should have called any music and shows done as this lineup by a different name. Clint was essential in the thing that was known as The Butterfly Effect, and it feels like he and this amazing creation made with care and hard work over a long time, were maybe not treated right by some elements inside of it...

It's a shame when the lead singer leaves a band, especially one with vocals as distinctive as Boge's, because naturally, it doesn't sound like The Butterfly Effect at all. Sometimes, someone's weakness is actual everyone else's strength. Boge wasn't the best singer in the world, but his voice carried the music and that's all that matters.

I quite like this, the band is clearly still ripping. Interesting to see how the new singer progresses. They chose him for a reason.

@korn74 Who's Clinton mate? I think you mean Clint. He's doing fine with Like Thieves. This is still fine music, but if it's Clint Boge's vocals you need, Like Thieves & Thousand Needles In Red is where your ears need to be.

The New singer is nothing special. Singers like him are a dime a dozen! Clint Bogue was UNIQUE that's why his voice would grab you! Clint Bogue is and definitely WAS "The Butterfly Effect"! The rest of T.B.E members should of changed the name of the band. "Without Clint" would have been perfect! T.B.E will never ever again be what they were! So it's with a heavy heart I say to The Butterfly Effect

Interesting new direction! Saying that i have seen the live show and to make comparisons is not right. Paul is a great singer however needs to develop a bit more vibrato in his singing. And as front men Clint has it hands down and it seemed to come naturally to him. Check out Clints new band Like Thieves AMAZING!!!

Sorry for you guys howling about the development of a band! It changes how it changes and you won't stop it crying after the past, otherwise the band should really be ashamed adapting to the desires of their fans. They should be true to themselves. It's a great song!

You think this is whiney?? The old Butterfly was just as whiney, but in a f*cking awesome way (of course). This guy has massive shoes to fill and he has a BOOMING voice, just like Clint did. These guys are absolutely great musicians!! TBE ftw!!

I like all previous TBE albums for various reasons, because they were all quite different. This song is pretty good, but reminds me more of Karnivool than previous TBE work. Not necessarily a bad thing, I suppose I'll judge a full album as a whole. As for the new voice...same thing, hard to judge on 1 song, but so far, sounds a bit more generic than Clint's

I think there is some real potential here with the new singer. Looking forward to seeing where they go.

I live and breath TBE, even had a tear in my eye at Clint's final live show last year. I believe if you are a true fan of the band,then you'll let them developed and strengthen, and find the pocket once again.

its been a while since this comment but clint wasn't the entire reason TBE was awesome... it's more like a group effort. If Kurt left, it wouldn't be TBE much anymore either. Also yes, I know they just broke up.

If this is the best he can write it is crap why post it. I'm a fan of old tbe not just clint as musicians the guys are great but this could be a fatal mistake for the boys. I don't think the whinny axel rose can front a ballsy band. Time will tell

He dosent sound as draining i like him better. i could listen to these guys on a good day now. there Above average go to falls festival and hear some indie. That shit is nothing but average.

It sounds quite good. If this was my first time hearing this sort of sound and band I would probably love it more. But just knowing where you guys have been and since the last singer has left it just doesn't feel the same... Just my opinion. Not bad music though :)

Not a fan. The vocals need to be brought "forward" in the mix (if that makes any sense) - they're totally drowned out by the music. They sound just like any other rock band now, sadly.

Not a huge fan. Even though i'm a huge Clint Boge the new singer is good he suits what the bad is doing but I'm not even a fan of the music. I agree with Liudmila, more like an average rock band. Nothing Special anymore.

I 3 TBE. Yes Clint was/is one of a kind, this song sounds like the old butterfly effect. Bring on some live shows I say. They're gonna have to reinvent themselves - Clint gave a unique melodramatic whiny (but not bad/annoying) sound, so for a new vocalist they'll have to find other strengths / styles to play to. This sounds like a step in the right direction
