This is one of those songs you don't really understand until you see a visual interpretation. And then wow! It rips your heart straight out of your chest! I find the thought of children growing up without a parent absolutely heartbreaking.

I love this haunting song. The echo of a bereavement through a person's life. So beautiful and sad. A beautiful sadness that lifts me at the end. It gives me hope.

I think that when an old person reaches the end, and if she has no living family to be with her when she is passing... then the cherished moments of a more innocent time come back to give her comfort. She is no longer alone because the past and the loved ones in it come alive again. We can easily forget that everyone was once a child -- that part of one's life is never lost. It's the world all around us that loses its vision and can only see us in old age.

I'm childless and 60. When I see my mom or brother or wife in my dreams, they are always young and fresh and alive. And yes it does bring much happiness to know that when my time arrives, I wont be alone. Thank you for your wisdom to see the timeless soul in remembrance. This may be in fact your soulcraft.
