Burdon, Eric - Colored Rain Lyrics
Yesterday I was a young man
Searching for my way
Not knowing what I wanted
Living life from day to day, yeah
There was nothing but an empty space
Not a trace
Feels like coloured rain
Tastes like coloured rain
Bring down coloured rain
Rain, oh yeah
I can feel those colored changes
Going through my mind
United with a feeling
Till she came along
There was nothing but an empty space
Not a trace
Feels like coloured rain, baby
Tastes like coloured rain
Bring down coloured rain
Rain, oh yeah
Bring it on down baby
I can feel those colored changes
Going through my mind
United with a feeling
Bringing love into my eyes, yeah
Till she came along
There was nothing but an empty space
Not a trace
Feels like coloured rain, baby
Don't you know it feels like coloured rain
Don't you know baby
It's not all the time
That the sun won't shine, baby, yeah
If you love me and you want me to be your man, yeah yeah
There's one thing baby
Every woman should understand, hmmm
Without rain babe
Our love will never come to be
And if you want my sunshine
You've got to accept my hail rain and snow
There's one thing baby
That I want you to do for me yeah
I want you to take our body close
I want you to work that up I know
Take that coloured rain
Bring it down, yeah
Bring it on down, yeah
Bring it on down, yeah
Bring it on down, yeah
Bring it on down, yeah
Bring down coloured rain

Burdon, Eric Colored Rain Comments
Brutal version.
You name it Andy summers can do it, one of the greatest ever!!
How the hell do you get on that bus? No front door!
This is one mother of a track, blues rock and soul what's not to like
son Bus hat mal in Hamburg ,Schulterblatt vor dem Fixstern geparkt ! aber vom fixstern gibt es nix
What a gem of a tune and the grey hound bus rocks, well done dude.
Le solo de guitare peut effectivement paraître long... Moi je ne trouve pas. Je ferme les yeux, écoute, adore et prends mon pied !
From listening I'd never guess that was Summers.
N.B. So you just used a sample animation of the bus zooming in and out, from "Muvee" or whatever? Hm.
,vocals are the best
The song was about acid but Burdon made it about a woman.
I love Andy Summers...but this is pretty repetitive and stiff....missus lol
Yes, that solo is long, but when he invite some lick, he just play it over and over again
Andy Summers!
Drugs... that's always the answer
Wonderful song... thanks a lot for the lyrics !!! :)
It is, "Love is" is one of the best rock album ever. Don't forget the heavy psycherock Gemini !!
How the hell do you get on that bus? no front doors
Photo likely purposely turned around to match a British bus, which would have the door on the other side.
punkier version (pre- punkier) ....Burdon's a punk, but can sing balls - out....alot of useless period lick and tricks though....miss that warm winwood Hammond organ....I'd like to hear a combination: Burdon singing, steve Winwood playing- don't know if they'd get along as mates though. Burdon likes to rule the show.
Eric is The Man!
john iorio Without Eric there was no show!
This is jamiin..TY
Because Eric did not sell out.
the more info still has the same mistake, lol
atrocious
guywalker29 settle down man, it's hardly 'atrocious'
This is one incredible classic rock track. As big as anything The Beatles, The Stones, The Doors or The Kinks did. This is Eric Burdon's masterpiece with The Animals. This with the "Ring of Fire" intro from the same LP "Love Is." Also -- the track "I'm An Animal" from this LP -- has to be heard to be believed. Rock radio? You missed out on some big ones you idiots.
the guitar solo to match with Mike Oldfield's solo in Kevin Ayers' "Lunatics Lament".. never heard such an awesome piece of music in quite a long time. Astounding!
not even close to the orig by traffic. nice try eric but winwood's untouchable
Coloured Rain is way better than chocolate rain :)
@pob1989 It's great! He's hilarious! I will probably read it again this summer.
@Rockblueser- @muaythaimattei- It's a good cover, have you checked out Traffic's original from the year before, 1967?
cracking!
great song!!
Nope. Andy Summers was in the band at that point. He talks about this solo in his awesome (and hilarious) book One Train Later.
Is it not Johnny Weider's solo?
Yes, it was a Andy summers's guitar solo. Andy had written his One Train Letter on 126~127 about this recording,
I had seen the Live film they had played in Osaka Japan on TV at 1969 .
I have much interest in Johnny Weider's Guitar play . Abont 40yers ago, I have talked on the phonr with Barry Jenkins was the Drumer at that point "He' s a electric Violin player , so his vibrate was was splendid.
Very cool! Nice to hear Andy Summers do his 190 bar solo! Although i think his guitar was tuned a tiny bit sharp!
Thanks for catching that, embarrassing error.
