Bun-B - Let 'Em Know Lyrics

[Intro]
R.I.P. Guru
GangStarr 4 Life
Goddamn, Primo!
Long time comin, baby
History in the making
It's goin down, talk to 'em, Preem

[DJ Premier cuts and scratches]
"Say, this here, Pimp C
We fuckin wit Primo, it-it-it's, it's goin down, baby"
"My mic is loud and my production is tight" - [Big L]
"We run shit!" "I ain't playin witchu!"

[Verse 1]
Okay, Bun is on the mic, Premier's on the track
The South is in the house, now what can fuck wit that?
And what can fuck wit this? I take shots and don't fuckin miss
First on your baby mama bucket list
You on some sucka shit, might as well suck a dick
'Cause you bein a bitch just for the fuck of it
And when I fuckin spit, niggaz get to tuckin shit
Tryna duck down wherever they can fuckin get
They better ask somebody
'fore I have Big Truck pass the shotty and blast somebody, bitch!
Mastered the flow, the gun and the hand game
Now I'm resurrectin a REAL nigga campaign
Fake ass niggaz, we snatch 'em out the damn rain
Take they damn chain, hit 'em with the damn thang
BANG! Now that's what happen when the trigger blow
Aiyyo Premier, let a motherfuckin nigga know!

[Chorus: DJ Premier cuts and scratches]
"Say, this here, Pimp C
We fuckin wit Premo, it-it-it's, it's goin down, baby"
"My mic is loud and my production is tight" - [Big L]
"We run shit!" "I ain't playin witchu!"
"Say, this here, Pimp C
We fuckin wit Primo, it-it's goin... down, baby"
"My mic is loud and my production is tight" - [Big L]
"We run shit!" "I ain't playin witchu!"

[Verse 2]
Okay, Bun is on the mic, Premier's on the track
The South is in the house, now what can fuck wit that?
And who can fuck wit me? You not built up
I'll break ya bitch-ass down and leave you filled up
See that's how blood get spilled up, 'cause you all grilled up
And got the hammer on you, but it's still tucked
'Cause you scared to pull it, even mo' scared to POP
You ain't a gangsta, you need to stop
I'm a type of nigga pull up at a evening spot
Squeeze and pop niggaz 'til they weave and drop, ock!
You the type that gotta call in the goons
I come one deep, strapped like an army platoon
When I get to (Gladiatin') on haters like Leonidas
Niggaz gonna have to admit that he the tightest
You talk a big game mayne, but mine's bigger bro
Aiyyo Premier, let a motherfuckin nigga know!

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
Okay, Bun is on the mic, Premier's on the track
The South is in the house, now what can fuck wit that?
And who can fuck wit us? Better bring your mic game
Mike Jordon, Mike Tyson, Big Mike mayne
Big dough, big flow, big fight game
Take you out the zone, put you in the right frame
Take you out yor home, middle of the night mayne
Wrap you up tight, put yo' ass on the night train
That's right mayne, and it's the right time
In the right game to get rich like a white mayne
Tryna see how much paper that I might gain
While I still keep it trill in what I write, mayne
Yeah, so let's see who we could trouble most
by hittin these haters with a double dose
Toast! We got it locked like a figure-fo'
Aiyyo Premier, let a motherfuckin nigga know!

[Chorus]

[Outro]
BITCH! Yeaaah!
PA to PV, nigga
Bun Beeda, DJ Premier
Legends, in the, game
You don't know? Now you know, bitch!
Threw ya hoe-ass around, while real niggaz come down
Hah! Yeaaah!
Premo, I was waitin on that shit, nigga
I been waitin on this shit since "DJ Premier was in Deep Concentration"
Hahaha, my motherfuckin nigga
Love you, boy
Real rap shit, real nigga shit
We GONE! [echoes]

Anything Preemo touches is CLASSIC!!...Buns voice fits perfectly!!

  33. C.... R....

People keep forgetting that Premier is from Texas as well

    C.... R....

Yeah and that really bugs me. A lot of southern producers help architect that 90s boom bap sound

    C.... R....

@iLL Soprano so funny its considered a New York sound lol

    C.... R....

That is a great point! Most people don't know that by the way since his style is straight underground NY. Also, Guru is from Boston (but he actually talks about that a bit more).

    C.... R....

Premier is originally from Houston TX. But he grew up most of his life in NY, so he adopted that East Coast sound. In fact, some other rappers and producers have moved and came from different coasts too. It's not uncommon.

  34. b.... w....

The violin haunts you because it doesn't give you a break. Also the five note bassline eerily harmonizes with the violin. Then the last two notes of the bassline are dissonant. This is indicative of Premos jazz appreciation. This whole beat could have went another way, but it takes a special ear to flip it like this. An average producer would have just let the high hat ride and left it alone but Premo matched the club kick and the snare with a tambourine. (If you listen close you will even hear a faint dissonant piano chord on the first snare, wow) Then the way the club kick is arranged matches the rhyme scheme of a south/west coast artist, in the likeness of Dr. Dre 'The Next Episode'. That's complex af

Then Bun's flow..,peep the way the last two words rhyme exactly..,real nigga flow.

Damn, this is one of the best beats I've ever heard.

    b.... w....

b wade what a good ear it's simple but good for a real lyricist

    b.... w....

    This beat is 🔥🔥🔥

  35. j.... t....

my good god this fucking beat knocks

  36. C.... D....

    who said thumbs down?

  37. a.... ....

how the Fuck does this remind people of andre 3000? more of a gangsta mode. 8 ball and Mjg. don't believe check out 8 ball and Mjg - collard greens and mix that shot up.

  38. J.... D....

  39. C.... H....

    C.... H....

  40. M.... P....

    this shit is sick!!!

    M.... P....

    say no to drugs mkay

  41. A.... ....

    How did I forget this?

  42. H.... L....

Yo Bun B is mad nice. One of the few southern rappers that can hold his own against east coast rappers.

    H.... L....

8ball and Mjg, and Big Krit can hang too

    H.... L....

@Phenaam12 I'm not too familiar with MJG (I'll have to look him up and check out some songs by him - any suggestions?) I do agree with 8Ball and Big Krit (I forgot Big Krit has southern roots because he does a lot of songs with east coasters). I hear Boosie is very lyrically but I haven't heard anything from him (I should probably check him out as well). Ludacris actually surprised me by his performance on the DJ Premier track that he has and also on that same album, there's a song with Nas & Jay-Z that's great too. However, I don't really feel Ludacris at all otherwise but he did show me something on those two tracks to think he may actually have some lyrical skill in him. Also, Celph Titled is from Tampa and Hex One & Tek-Nition (Epidemic) are also from Florida, although they basically all have re-located to be east coasters (and definitely have an east coast/NY style as opposed to southern. Hex One is just incredible, I can't say enough about how talented he is and Tek-Nition is also nasty as well as Celph Titled.

    H.... L....

CeeLo Green during 90’s GoodieMob’s first two albums. Early Chamillionaire mixtapes. Cyhi the Prynce

    H.... L....

SCARFACE WILLIE D OUTKAST BUN K-RINO
    No order

    H.... L....

@Brian Bish agreed. man actually has lyrics, most south rappers are straight garbage

  43. J.... M....

Damn imagine Bun B and Andre 3000 doing a album together with 3 songs feat Scarface. lol thats just my little wish for hiphop

    J.... M....

What about Bun B and Big Boi

  44. M.... K....

fuck my life perfection ....u talk a big game mane but mines bigger bro hey yo premier let a muthafukin nigga know ...............

    j.... ....

Your first premise of the best in the south, should stop there!

    j.... ....

He's one of the few southern rappers that can hold their own against east coast rappers.

  48. D.... B....

    Premo for life!

What I hate is typical clown NY dudes who make some dumb shit like DJ Premo is from NY.. Or MJ is from New York or J.Cole is from NY. LOL. Yall wanna make ppl from NY thats not from NY. Nice try lil boy but learn something. DJ Premo is not from NYC. Typical Dumb Nigga. LOL

    A.... S....

@***** Just because you never heard doesn't mean it wasn't said... All you could've say was... Damn I never heard of New Yorkers saying so and so was from NYC... Thats all you gotta say and (laughing) dip the fuck out... Plus nobody is jealous of anything... And plus I'm not from Texas. Thats how dumb you are. LOL. Plus I'm not a Texans fan.... Thats how dumb you are. Just take the L and don't respond no more... before you take more L's like Meek Mill.

    A.... S....

Jay Anderson dude yeah ! His aunt lived in Brooklyn and he would visit her every year and eventually move to Brooklyn. His entire flavor is Ny underground! The south try to come out with something of their own but not even close!!!

    A.... S....

@Cjguinness duh I know he got family up their so do I. But he's from the south. Of course we all influence by new york hip hop where it start but ny got their "sound" froma southern dude who took the craft and make it great. South does it better. We make the best sound for the culture.... Premo Timbaland Neptunes Big Krit 9th Justice League

  78. S.... J....

The beat is fine, it just doesn't appeal to you, that's it.

  79. g.... ....

when are you talking? before public enemy? because i'm pretty sure their beats were pretty "cluttered."

  80. g.... ....

do you think bun b is not?

  81. B.... M....

    This beat goes in

  82. C.... S....

@tochiRTA The beats not lazy back in the day when real hip hop existed the beat was used predominantly as a canvas for what an emcee had to say. Not like today where all people care about is a cluttered club beat that drowns out the shit raps.

  83. t.... ....

seriously man. This beat is so fucking lazy! and Premo's my favorite producer of all time. I think these cats are gassed on 'wow real hip hop' and aren't listening.

    t.... ....

tochiRTA I actually love this beat, gets me nodding my head real hard, wether bun spitting or not

  84. M.... ....

Premo make every emcee, skilled or not, sound DOPE. Peace.

  92. N.... R....

Let em know and If you don't know don't even bother to ask.stay Beatin off to your comment list.if you grew up street, like all y'all fuckin tryin to portray, fake ass imposter gangsters wish the hood had y'all's back.funny thing what bun is saying is come round my way fuckin up and get fucked up make me go round your way and get got.been lettin know since birth,so as the late great pimp said smoke something bitch.and watch your tone when you come at me,you at a 9 you bettr take it down to a 2.

  93. W.... o....

I believe this beat was laced soon after Guru passed - explains the somber tone... just like the beat he made around that time for Fat Joe - I'm Gone...

  94. F.... ....

Bun B & Preem = two cats straight outta Texas. Everybody forget Premier went to Prairie View

  95. K.... K....

i always tell my lil cuzin when ever we puff."its going down primo"

  96. S.... B....

Why the fuck is this so dope? Maybe cos two legends collide ! Props from Poland, loong live good hip hop

  97. a.... r....

The two also have some more in common, as both Premier’s GangStarr partner Guru and Bun B’s UGK companion Pimp C were both taken from us way too early (RIP to both!!!) Bun B acknowledges this with his “R.I.P. Guru GangStarr for Life!” opening and Primo gives the love back by scratching Pimp C’s voice on the hook. The actual song is a banger as well, Bun B sounding right at home over Premier’s monster of a beat this track indicates their Perfect chemistry,
