Um....I believe that the Assassin's Creed franchise is...well, very, very bad. Every game in the series has a need to commit narrative suicide as in, they want to at least pretend to give the player a story-based reason to play each game in the franchise even though the story in each game continues to repeatedly contradict itself and thus giving us no incentive to play. Every time you enter a "Assassination memory", each Templar minion tells you that what you're doing is pointless and give "good reasons" for why they do what they do. For example, in the first Assassin's Creed game, you go to one of the Templar-controlled cities to kill this Doctor named Talal (or something like that) who owns and operates a sort of...torture hospital filled with patients who were forced to be under his "care". After you kill him, he says that he's helping them, "rehabilitating" them. And, of course, you (the player) know that this is bullshit because there is a plethora of evidence to the contrary but, Altair (the Assassin you play as) foolishly believes all the bullshit the Doctor fed him. So, the question becomes, even though he's Desmond's (the other main character) ancestor, why, exactly are we playing as Altair, again (nevermind playing the game in general)? And in the latest game, they invalidated their entire series in it's ending. And that's the shit stain that is the Assassin's Creed franchise.
