Built To Spill - In Your Mind Lyrics
The symptoms of our getting older
The problems that say we don't mind
That most of us never get over
The memories mingled with lies
That no one's allowed to forget
I don't wanna give the impression
That predestination is set
The distance will increase the danger
Where certainty's never enjoyed
Regarded as equal yet stranger
Embark, then embrace, then destroy
Observing the process will change it
Subconsciously rearrange it
It doesn't seem any less true
Remnants of thought disappearing
And even transcending concern
Disturbing but somehow endearing
Conditioned to never unlearn
And no one can tell me to listen
And no one can tell me what's right
'Cause nobody has my permission
And no one can see in your mind
In your mind
In your mind
In your mind
When magnifications explore
There slowly emerges a pattern
The details you normally ignore
You notice really what matters
There isn't a time or a place
Only an ebb and a flowing
A permanent repeating space
Occurring, connecting, and growing
And no one can tell me to listen
And no one can tell me what's right
'Cause nobody has my permission
And no one can see in your mind
In your mind
In your mind
In your mind

In Your Mind=142=+241=383
...? What, now?
Does it actually
greatest indie rock band of all time
Most under-appreciated band of the last 20 years? They're my pick.
They're certainly up there...
@pluckyduck11y yeah, pretty much. only other one that comes to mind which I believe has been under-appreciated (by the public, not the critics) are The Swans. Then of the last 35 years, The Chameleons or The Feelies. Both are the greatest bands no ones ever heard of.
@pluckyduck11y Quicksand
I used to listen to this back in 98 on the school bus. didn't know I had taste in middle school
it's pointless to talk shit when a melody gives you that special feeling. simple or complex has nothing to do with the way notes trigger feelings
This true art is "Amazing" to me.
this song reminds me of jones soda, as strange as that is...
No, it's because there is no such thing as "true art." This may sound incredible to you, but it sounds like complete shit to other people.
The facts with mainstream music:
1. They want to make money.
2. It isn't that hard to make a song that sounds "pretty good" to almost everyone.
3. It is a little harder to make a song that sounds amazing to a small amount of people
4. It is almost impossible to sound amazing to almost everyone.
5. "Pretty good" and "amazing" cost the same on itunes.
True art doesn't get fully recognized. Perhaps that's why it remains pure. It doesn't get corrupted into becoming mainstream and loosing its essence. I agree with your opinion on the song though
how this band does not have great recognition is beyond me, one of the most consistent bands ever and its awesome how it is never the same people so there is always a different yet similar style
great music from great people
what's with all the hate on this video? come on man, bts is love
thhis is possibly the introspective song i have ever heard and i am so glad that it is now availble free in good form on youtube pixies i636's husband signing off untill my next inspiration
@scoutsouljademoman I couldn't give two fucks what you think buddy. But thanks for the reply. I like to see the how pitiful some people are.
Why is this not loved by everyone, everywhere? It's like a march, the conformity of life, and we all just go along with it. Like life itself is caving in, but I'm safe In My Mind.
This is kinda the most important song in my life right now. Good job, BTS, good job.
@S0ulWrought looks like you do a fine job of that on your own.
