Buddy Holly - Changing All Those Changes Lyrics

I-I-I should have reconsidered all those things I said I'd do
So now I'm changing all those changes
That I made when I left you

Sweetheart I'm changing all those changes
That I made when I left you
Because I made those changes when I thought you were untrue

A-but now you're gone I've found I'm wrong
And there's a-nothing I can do
Except to change up all those changes
That I made when I left you

I-I-I didn't stop to thi-ink, I just left without a care
And now I know I'm wrong and I can't find you anywhere
I should have reconsidered all those things I said I'd do
So now I'm changing all those changes
That I made when I left you

Buddy Holly Changing All Those Changes Comments
  1. foster kardos

    the delay is so fire

  2. NYC

    He's so good looking

  3. David B

Never get enough of Buddy's voice. He got that echo perfect on this one (somehow, technically, for the day). The boy was just so incredibly WAY ahead of his time, and pushing the envelope, in everything, every day. How, at his age?!! That opening riff to "That'll Be the Day" still sounds incredible and would chart this week, if some new band had just released it ... 60 years later!!

  4. Hollys Buddy

This is the Nashville sessions version. Undubbed. Grady Martin playing lead.

  5. SprayNPrayGaming

Buddy actually hated this song. But I don't understand why. It's amazing. It still sounds like it's ahead of its time.

  6. RychleTube

I didn't stop to think, I just left without a care...

  7. Bill Hurt

Purpose or not? U decide who he's singing to

  8. Bill Hurt

    Too late too soon

  9. Bill Hurt

He's seriously begging a purpose you ignore and cover

  10. Declan McGowan

    Pure rocker 👊

  11. Georgie Thumbs

The voice on this guy was unbelievable. My band was trying to figure out how to play this and the drummer couldn't get the right beat until we figured out it's a basic polka beat 1-2 1-2... It's Hollys voice that makes you think the beat is more complicated than it really is

  12. Dead Zeppelin

(03 February 2019) Gone 60 years ago today but never forgotten.... Not Fade Away.

We had this summer assignment to read a biography about someone and write about their life. I choose the great Buddy Holly. I told my grandma and she was surprised that I knew who he was. She said that she danced to his music when she was younger. I wish we had actual talented people in the music industry today. There are a few who are actually good. Most of them are there because they look good. I hate that about my generation. It is annoying.

  14. rpkrauss1

Buddy Holly was BEYOND ROCK... HIS MUSIC WAS PURE BUDDY HOLLY... Screw the labels ..!!

  15. Steve Sobot

Excellent! Hey Adam, do you have this one, you know with the damaged sleeve?

  16. the king

    Buddy is the best 🎸🎸🎸

  17. Freddy Paine

According to my reading, the song wasn't released until 1969 and overdubbed with a lead guitar. Consummate rockabilly with sweet country guitar lines and bluesy stings. One of my favorites. I recommend also Goodbye Marie by Malcolm Yelvington, another little-known gem.

    bhollyfan hardin

this song was recorded in 1956 at owen bradleys studio in nashville for decca records this is either Buddy or Sonny Curtis playing lead guitar probably it.s Sonny

  18. TONY gould

ONE OF THOSE PHOTOS WAS TAKEN OF HOW HIS FAMOUS GREAT UNCLE LOOKED LIKE WHEN HE WAS A GUN FIGHTER LEGEND JOHN WESLEY HARDING AND TO SHOW JUST WHAT A LOOK A LIKE HE WAS TO HIS UNCLE Bobby Darin made a film of his uncle life story

  19. PuppyDogLover #1

This is my favorite Buddy Holly song. Although, I love them all. They are all so well and written in the short lifetime he had. Rock n' Roll in heaven Buddy Holly

  20. Nick Lopez

What a range. What a song. What a performer!

  21. Gerard van Leeuwen

Wow !! This is what i call Rockabilly !!

  22. RychleTube

This is probably my most favorite song of Buddy's.

  23. David Massey

Buddy's voice sounds so much like John Lennon's' on this one. I know that John looked up to Buddy like Oasis looked at the Beatles, even the group name Beatles was taken from Buddy's group The Crickets. I love how music evolves from a genius like Buddy Holly. So much respect for this young man his music sounds great still today!

    User Mister

In particular for the album "beatles for sale" with all those vintage covers including in fact "words of love" and yes it's the other way around ... John Lennon's voice sounds so much like Buddy Holly. He loved so much that slap-back echo, and he has being using it throughout his whole career, Beatles and solo.

  24. crosseyedone

    Simply brilliant.

  25. George B

Hard to beleive that today marks 58 years since "The Day The Music Died"...May all live in our hearts for ever!

  26. John Burgoyne

    Only the Best!!

  27. Michael Durkin

    keep rocking

  28. Debra Parry

    rockabilly

  29. 3funke

I Fought the Law is attributed to Sonny Curtis who took Buddy's place in the Crickets after his death.

  30. BTLFAEN

Hank Snow a definite influence.  Nobody like Buddy.

  31. ricardo octavio

Me parece estar escuchando a George Harrison

  32. Leo Bos

Buddy is raw basic unadulterated early rock !! Nothing can beat that. Certainly not the technical computerised crap of today

    HantHil

    Well said ...!

    HantHil

You wouldn't have Lennon / McCartney and so many other great artists without the early raw Rock n Roll / Rockabilly influence of the late- great Buddy Holly....Truly the BEST !!

    NotRealName

    3 years later...

And it never changed! Music has gotten watered down since autotune.

Kaelan The Chuck E Cheese Fan

I am 12 years old. I've been listening to Buddy and Ritchie Valens for a year now! Most of my friends listen to that other crap. And I just blast Buddy Holly on the bus!

  33. Lancastrian

Yes his early ones are well worth listening to. I also list them amongst my favourites, including his original version of That'll Be The Day.

  34. kos22us

i got really into BH from the well known classics like that'll be the day everyday & peggy sue etc etc but after all these years my fav BH songs are his early rockabilly songs, blue days, midnight shift, love me, come out tonight, ollie vee & i think my fav is gonna set my foot down ... what a jam that one is

  35. Lancastrian

    Thanks Ha Ha,

  36. Geoff Rae

Madeleine Peyroux does a great version of this song, completely different to Buddy.

  37. chuckdee121

See, there are some guys who have that rockin sound, and ya know Buddy was one of the best. This is top notch!!!

  38. Michael Walker

Tony, Sober up and try again mate.......

  39. tony gould

    Master Kota

tony gould Chuck didn't write this song for Buddy Holly

    RychleTube

Paul Anka wrote It Doesn't Matter Anymore, but, to P. Anka's anger, Buddy changed the arrangement completely (it was supposed to be a slow-tempo ballad). I'm glad Buddy changed it, because P Anka's version is rather boring

  40. tony gould

bought the writes of Holly music anfd gave it way free to MarIe Elenia Holly PEGGY SUE WAS ANOTHER SONG THAT WAS CHANGED BY PETTY SHOULD OF BEEN CALLED LINDA LOU OLD FLAME OF HOLLY`S FROM HIGH SCHOOL BUT HOLLY AGREED BECAISE SHE MARRIED ALLISON DID PEGGY SUE ALISON MADE THAT RECORDING NOT ON DRUMS BUT OLD CARDBOARD BOX HAS HE DID ON NOT FADE AWAY LATER RECORDED BY THE ROLLING STONES IM GONNA LOVE YOU TOOWAS ALSO DONE ON A CARDBOARD BOX

  41. tony gould

because he was sueing petty for his outrages behavour toward his recording rights and for allison too allison holly wrote many songs together and petty who had nothing to do with their song writting but added his name to every song they wrote Jerry Allison only found out this the night holly died that he was helping him too by the phone call from holly Allison THE REST OF THE CRICKETS LOST OUT ON LOYALTIES BY PETTY THATS WHY HE WASNT MENTIONED IN THE FILM BUDDY HOLLY STORY SIR PAUL MCARTNEY

  42. tony gould

he also had curtis in his group for a while and he made guitars of his own accustic one`s willie nelson has the old battered one that holly made for him on stage to this day i come from Huddersfield england holly`s music his used in the uni here along side classic music to teach students why i can tell u he had the same style of writting of music has beathoven mentioned in his life story alancastian im 64 year`s old rock n roll and country music i like why did he have to go on that winter tour

  43. tony gould

alancastrian replying to your post holly was told to sing in hugher octive on decca recording`s te crickets was formed at high school decca would not allow them in the recirding sessuin beause they didnt like rock n roll hence the reason why holly sang country music in the early recording but one tune he liked was valley of tear`s which by the way was the trail of tears that lead to wounded knee also holley was written on the recording holly dropped the e out of his name

  44. tony gould

i used to have this album he also had to record in another octive decca didnt like his normal voice but olly didnt get the other acculaide of introducing sterio .The orchestra recording was only heard on play beak on the four tape recordings holly`s voice was missing on play back but the someone said try adding adding another speaker to recorder they did, For some reason the room coral had was not big enough for some reason for holly had to be in another room hence sterio was formed.

  45. Lancastrian

The song was written in 1958 by Sonny Curtis, and recorded in 1959 when he joined the Crickets, taking the place of the late Buddy Holly on guitar. It was covered by The Booby Fuller Four and also by the Clash.

  46. Shaky Ventures

I'm buying you some punctuation for Xmas. ;)

    David B

  53. Lancastrian

Buddy was born in Lubbock. Lubbock is a city in the county seat of Lubbock County, Texas, United States.

The statue of Buddy Holly has a permanent home on Crickets Ave. — directly across the street, to the west, from the Buddy Holly Center.

  54. Lancastrian

Budfest takes place during the first week of September, his birthday, which he hasn't been alive to celebrate for over 50 years.

  55. Lancastrian

Across the street from the statue, at the Buddy Holly Museum, visitors will find plenty about the career of Holly -- including his personal record collection and his 1955 bedroom furniture, which was kept by his parents until the 1990s. Outside the museum, a sculpture of giant Holly-esque glasses is a popular photo opportunity.

  56. Lancastrian

His 1957 home at 1305 37th St.is still up and his birthplace at 1911 6th St., now an empty lot, is flagged with a "Buddy Holly Historical Marker." Buddy died in a 1959 plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa after performing in that town's Surf Ballroom. He's buried in Texas here, in Lubbock cemetery.

    David B

Don't ever hire unqualified pilots, nor challenge Mother Nature's WEATHER. -- from a highly trained military pilot

  57. Lancastrian

Lubbock, Texas: - Lubbock is jam-packed with stops along the Buddy Holly Trail.

There is the 8 1/2-ft. bronze statue of rock 'n roll legend playing his guitar, circled by a Walk of Fame honoring other West Texas musicians, like Waylon Jennings and Mac Davis.

  58. Lori Wakeham

Where is the statue featured at 0:35?

  59. countrychess

From 0;55 to 1;10 and 1: 42 to 1:55 Fabulous guitar's bridges, one of the best than I've never heard ! This song is a really masterpiece !
    Ah ! " Modern Don Juan ", " Ting a ling" , " Midnight shift ", " Blue days, black nights " , what marvelous tunes !

  60. colfair

WOW, How he looks like Julian Lennon without his glasses, who in turn looks just like his dad John Lennon who was a major Buddy Holly fan. Talk about connections !

  61. tony gould

on photo marie didnt like was the oneuddy holly vol one he was trying out contact lens but they hurt his eyes

  62. Nadata

Funny how this could go with Obama's campaign promises..

  63. TJCATLOVER

    Buddy Holly rocks!!!!!!!!!

  64. vikingmanMN

Listen to how good he was even in 1956.

  65. Jackzon Travis

    J'adore !

  66. countrychess

    MASTERPIECE !
Je ne me lasse pas de l'écouter depuis maintenant ^plus de trente ans ...
Les lumineuses interventions de sonny curtis, le phrasé du grand buddy, inoubliable rockabilly. Un modèle du genre !

  67. charlyW34

Does anyone have the very scarce cover version by "Chainsaw Running"?

  68. 1957seville

Great ROCK-A-BILLY from Buddy, one of Buddy's best songs ever. 1000000 stars.

  69. doowopnuts

No one has ever matched Buddy Holly - God how I miss him.

  70. Col7777

    Col here, I'm loving it.

  71. Lancastrian

@RhandirQH - Yes you are quite right on all counts, I think Decca were trying to cash in on the success of Buddy at the time. Having said that I am glad they did because I have always like the songs recorded by Buddy for Decca.

  72. Thea Lloyd

I have the Ace Of Clubs LP as well. As I recall Ace of Clubs was a budget series. They sold for about half the price of regular LP's. The vinyl ismuch thicker than regular vinyl, almost the consistency of a 78. Thanks for posting/ Arf

  73. Lancastrian

@1959buddyh - This version was recorded in July 1956, the earlier version was recorded between February and April 1956.

  74. 1959buddyh

    This is an alternate take.

  75. Lancastrian

@beowulf3075 - I still have mine as well. The old vinyls give a more natural sound than that of CDs.

  76. beowulf3075

Buddy was ahead of his time because it still sounds fresh. I have an Ace of Clubs album with this on, slight echo chamber effect but I love that album. Rock around with Ollie Vee etc. How different he looked without glasses.

  77. BuddyFantastic

@6Heureka Buddy always preferred wearing his glasses, because back then contact lenses were to say the least, uncomfortable to wear. Seen the size of a 1950's contact lens? You'd wonder how anybody could wear one, especialy Buddy Holly.

  78. faustus999

absolute quality from the one and the only..BUDDY

  79. Lancastrian

The full line up is: Buddy Holly vocal, Sonny Curtis lead guitar,Grady Martin rhythm guitar, Don Guess bass, The Three Tunes, Jerry Alison drums, Boots Randolph saxophone and others that are not named.

    David B

Oh, to be one of those "others" ... or a fly on the wall.

  80. Lancastrian

With the exception of the statue that was provided by 6Heureka who is also a great Buddy Holly fan (check him out), they are taken from records and cd.s that I have.

  81. gremista

one of the most inspiring songs i've ever heard.

  82. 6Heureka

Great song , great pics, Buddy without glasses very rare. Thanks for posting

  83. 53hudsonhornet
