Buddy Guy - Help Me Some Lyrics

Now you may be sweet little woman
As the apple on a tree
Don't want no woman to lay up
And depend on me

You got to help me some
Yes, you've got to help me some
Don't care what I do
Babe you've got to help me some

Now if I'm the Pullman porter, girl
You've got to be the maid
So when every Saturday come
We both can get paid

So you can help me some
Yes, I want you to help me some
I don't care what I do
Babe, you've got to help me some

Now when I go to bed little girl
And lay up beside-a you
Now if I shake the cover
Please try to shake it too

So you can help me some
Yes, I want you to help me some
And I don't care what I do
Babe you've got to help me some

Help me some little girl, help me some!
Now don't stand there and look at me like that,
C'mon and help me some!
Now that's better, yes, yes, yes, yes

Now there's no such thing as man and wife
Now-a-day
We're just called partners
So you can knock yourself a slave

So you can help me some
Yes, I want you to help me some
I don't care what I do
Babe, you've got to help me some

When these guys were on the money, there was no-one could do it better! Unfortunately when I saw them together at Hammersmith Odeon in 1978, after waiting years for the privilege - the audience had been whipped into a frenzy by Koko Taylor & were not prepared to listen to these fabulous blues brothers! Always wanted to go to Chicago & see them on their home turf. Youtube has done a lot to rectify this but it was still a big disappointment to find that audiences are so fickle!

    S.... F....

I can truly dig what you're saying there Brother.

  27. b.... ....

These guys recorded some of the greatest blues you will ever find. From Juniors first solo album on they were a fantastic team.

my friend and i saw these dudes at mikell's (long gone) 97 street & columbus ave. nyc about 1978-79.   blow us away. we're all at the bar.  we in awe.  then trying to act cool we offered to buy them drinks.  god damn it they turned it right around and bought us drinks, so quickly we couldn't even mutter "we're not worry"  supermen of the blues!!!

  29. B.... C....

With Dave Myers and Odie Payne as your rhythm section, Junior and Buddy never sounded better.

  30. c.... ....

    Great showman and perfect timing.

Junior Wells was the link between Delta and R&B.  He was quite a force. RIP, Junior.
