Bucks Fizz - You And Your Heart So Blue Lyrics

You levelled all your guns against me
You shot me down and ran me to the ground
An' so I hung around
You said that you were just a dreamer
But in every dream you had I could be found
In love it's hard to believe
That roses die and moonlight doesn't last forever
God knows I tried… I gave all my love to you

You and your heart so blue
I did everything that a man can do
I cried when you wanted me to
And I lied in the night to see it through
For you and your heart so blue

I'm not afraid of dice or danger
You learn a lot of lessons on the street
I've felt the heat
But when without a word of warning
The dream came down and it knocked me off my feet
And I cried and I cried
When roses die and moonlight doesn't last forever
God knows I tried… I gave all my love to you

You and your heart so blue
I did everything that a man can do
I cried when you wanted me to
And I lied in the night to see it through
For you and your heart so blue

Given all the love you needed
Everything you ever wanted
Will you ever learn to fly
You're the one with all the questions
Looking for the easy answers
Will you ever get it right… enough for you

You and your heart so blue
I did everything that a man can do
I cried when you wanted me to
And I lied in the night to see it through
For you and your heart so blue

  4. N.... E....

a really well structured song..needed decent airplay as not as instant as their earlier stuff..but after 2-3 listens its got great hooks, poss even their best song.. and Bobby Gee's voice really suits this one too...x

This song is just awesome. I love it

  14. K.... R....

This should have been number 1.

  15. d.... ....

This was the one video as a trio. After Jay Aston left and before Shelly Preston join the group.

  17. R.... C....

How good were Bucks Fizz this is such a great song. Underated group

  18. n.... ....

Did Mike ever sing a lead could he sing, Bobby and Jay were always the best in Bucks Fizz

    n.... ....

nwlman yes Mike did do leads now those days are gone

    n.... ....

Mike also sang the lead on The Company You Keep

    n.... ....

nwlman I say yes he did many times

    n.... ....

"Now Those Days are Gone" was the only 45 Mike had lead on; he and Bobby did have singles with both on lead, and also did lead on several album tracks.

    n.... ....

He once claimed that he was supposed to sing Easy Love but it worked out better by Jay Aston.

everyone has a fave song, but i loved bucks fizz my fave singles were you and your heart so blue, piece of the action, one of those nights and golden days, album tracks love dies hard should have been a mega hit what a song it was, then of course the land of make believe,i remember reading a magazine article where mike nolan said the group didnt know what it was like to have a flop as every song was a hit,it was the kiss of death and their career stalled soon afterwards, then there was bobby gs big deal theme tune and cheryl bakers version of if paradise is half as nice all good music

  20. R.... M....

Cheryl, Mike and Bobby, 1985, with Jay's vocals, from the last original RCA sessions. For some of us in America, we're just learning about them; this is good stuff, good enough for me to get an import CD of it. RCA was being sold at the time to Bertelsmann and they apparently did not have the Fizz in their future; this and "Magical" were released to fulfill the contract. Jay appeared on TV once to sing it; it was also the song that introduced Shelley Preston on Terry Wogan's show.

  21. C.... E....

I liked them when I was 11 when they won the Eurovision and still love all their songs. Run for your life and heart of stone are two favourites, oh I hear talk.. Talking on your sleep. There loads lol

  22. N.... R....

\PS... been a BF fan since 4 years old... I am hardcore....

    N.... R....

and how old are you now?

  23. N.... R....

I agree it is a fantastic song but come on... there are better ones than this...Run for your Life... If you can't stand the heat... need I go in...?

    N.... R....

Yes, by all means do go on! I'd never get tired of hearing these great tracks. Talking In Your Sleep, I Hear Talk, Magical, Heart Of Stone. Who can say which is the best when you line them up like that?

  24. N.... O....

    Damn this is so good

  25. S.... E....

Love this song, cool video too :)

  26. k.... a....

loved bucks fizz , seen them live years ago ... seen hundreds of bands live and they were in my all time top 5 .. wonderful

  27. V.... V....

This, along with Heart Of Stone, was where we saw the band take a harder, more rock edge, and with Bobby on lead vocals having really matured as a frontman. Jay had left and this was their awkward in between single where people thought they were finished and never really recovered front the bus crash. Mike certainly never recovered, he had short term memory loss which meant he would forget the songs so could only now lip synch the backing parts and he sadly never regained more than 50% vision in either of his eyes. When Shelley was chosen as the replacement, announced on Wogan, this was the song they performed. Though technically the current song it never made the top forty, and was never a hit, despite many fans considering it one of their finest cuts. From an odd three piece vid to Shelly joining them on the live performances, this never had a fighting chance at the end of the Eighties in the Uk, when there was no real cable and no MTV. Magical and Heart Of Stone, with Bobby as lead singer, with his powerful passionate vocals, their great live versions, had the potential to take the band well into the Nineties. As it was, they never got past that first initial stage and never had the chance to make that great album they could have done. Ironic considering the success of the appropriately titled New Beginnings single, Shelley's first actual sing, and their last hit.

    V.... V....

+Vin Vass Are You Ready was one hell of an album, it was perfect after an album built around Making Your Mind Up. The vocals and production was by far bigger than their success, to say they are a cult band would be accurate.

  28. p.... ....

how was this number 43 this was there best

  29. E.... G....

Yep, a really great song. From a really great group. They are never played on 80's music radio shows/stations. And I do mean NEVER. Probably because they are not deemed to be 'cool' by the young twerps who run radio stations these days. Buffoons.

    E.... G....

Agree! I'm Irish, and they did really well here, even better than the UK! They are adored and fondly remembered! Bit you see there's only one 'classic hits' radio station in the country and they don't play them! I wrote them a long letter stating all the reasons they should play Bucks Fizz, but they completely ignored it! And they pride themselves on being Ireland's only classic hits station! Buffoons is right my friend!!

  30. r.... ....

    brilliant.

  31. m.... ....

A great Fizz track from 1985 and found on the Writing On The Wall album in 1986!

    m.... ....

    That is correct!

    m.... ....

@Marty Mcfly This song is still very epic and modern for the time it was released!!

  32. f.... ....

80' big hair, gotta love it

  33. u.... ....

Great song, how much of the O zone layer did Cheryl use on her hair LOL, I always Mike and Cheryl would have made a great couple.

  34. t.... ....

God! They were so sweet! I wish Mike and Cheryl end up together. *sigh*

I am so in love with them right now!

    t.... ....

Cheryl and hubby Steve just celebrated their 25th anniversary; Cheryl and Mike remain best friends and are performing these days with Jay and Bobby McVay in a reformulated 'Fizz'.

  35. D.... E....

    LOOKING GOOD BOBBY

  36. T.... M....

    FANTASTIC SONG!!!

  37. M.... F....

    Ich liebe dieses Lied

  38. a.... m....

i love you Cheryl, kisses from Argentina!!!!!

  39. m.... ....

    So nice melody this song!

  40. D.... D....

This takes me back in many ways - people in thre 80s could really sing, and these guys could really sing! I am not ashamed to say that 1) I saw them live in 1990 ans 2) that 4 of their songs are some of my favoutite songs of all time

  41. v.... ....

As a pop fan with no shame, I have to say this is a finely crafted and produced pop song. Should have been a big hit.

  42. m.... f....

i know it's about opinions ! i'm not saying the fizz were as good after jay left as they clearly were not. my point was this was not their last decent song as their last album had some good ones, including the fans' fav new beginning.

  43. m.... f....

i see you're a big jay fan, but their final album is considered as good as any they did and new beginning was voted by fizz fans as their best ever song. so you're in the minority if you think this was their last decent song

  44. l.... ....

I've said elsewhere, someone needs to re-record this, it's a fabulous song!

  45. j.... ....

Love this song but no hit in the UK! thx

  46. N.... B....

The reason that Jay (the sexy one as Komodoman put it) is not in this video, is that she had left the group when this was released. She was replaced by Shelley Preston at a later date
