Bucks Fizz - What's Love Got To Do With It Lyrics
You must understand
That the touch of your hand
Makes my pulse react
That it's only the thrill
Of boy meeting girl
It's physical
Only logical
You must try to ignore
That it means more than that
Oh-oh-oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
When a heart can be broken
Oh-oh-oh
It may seem to you
That I'm acting confused
When you're close to me
If I tend to look dazed
I've read it someplace
I've got cause to be
There's a name for it
There's a phrase that fits
But whatever the reason
You do it for me
Oh-oh-oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a second hand emotion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart
When a heart can be broken
Oh-oh-oh
I've been thinking of a new direction
But I have to say
(I've been thinking 'bout my own)
I've been thinking 'bout my own protection
It scares me to feel this way
Oh-oh-oh
What's love got to do, got to do with it
What's love but a sweet old fashioned notion
What's love got to do, got to do with it
Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken
Oh-oh-oh

"It's like if ABBA had made it to the 80s and was somehow worse."
I like Tina’s version more
Then go to Tina's version
one of those shirts with a shit Mickey mouse I do but I I just commented what I think of this
This version and Tina Turner's versions are great, but Cliff Richard's version is quite good as well.
Both Bucks Fizz' and Tina Turner's versions were produced by Christopher Neil; not the first song Fizz got the short end of the stick on. This is quite good, without Tina's histrionics. Shelved for years, likely because EMI blocked it, using the BF version as a demo for Turner.
i'm a huge fan of Tina, BF and Phyllis Hyman... all apparently who were offered the song. I can only imagine how great Phyllis would have done with this song. Regardless this song was a smash with whomever. BFs version is unique. It sounds almost sci-fi. The music and the lyrical composition of fighting urges... somehow is lost. Tina's version sounds more reggae. And her voice just oozed with sass. It's tough to say whose version is better. I like both versions. but tell me. what other songs did BF get to record first ? Honestly i doubt they used BF as a demo. since both were recorded more or less at the same time
Not true. Tina's version was produced by Terry Britten - the co-writer of the tune. This isn't terrible by any means but Tina's version steamrolls this quite easily. The only thing Terry kept for Tina's version was the synth line in the B-sections.
