Buckley, Tim - Peanut Man Lyrics
Drops of persperation johnny
Coming over me hey buddy
Pour another glass of cola
Pass it to me
Add some sweet potato to it
You know everybody wants to get a peanut butter heart
Drops of persperation johnny
Coming over me hey buddy
Pour another glass of cola
Pass it to me
Round of coca cola
Add some sweet potato to it
I'm looking through you
Yes I can
And that should do you
Peanut man
I'm looking through you
Yes I can
And that should do you
Peanut man
Lots of perseperation
Coming over me
Pour another cola
Pass it to me
I'm looking through you
Yes I can
And that should do you
Peanut man
I'm looking through you
Yes I can
And that should do you
Peanut man

Buckley, Tim Peanut Man Comments
Gregbus
Tim must have been trolling with this song. No way he wrote those layered and complex vocal melodies, laid a fucking groovy ass track, and decided “you know what, this ones gonna be about Peanut Man” without knowing what he was doing. I refuse to believe otherwise.
In my personal opinion, I think he wrote it because he was gregnant at the time.
Also this came out in 1973
@Derrick Goble YES! That was about the time he got imgregnated
Bob Knight I do not understand “imgregnated” I’m uncultured

Incredible. Tight. Funny. Catchy. And can several new things from each listen.
Gage : At Last, someone who appreciates "Peanut Man" for the Clever song it is.
Lol, what do you mean low point? This is ahead of time in terms of pop quality. So catchy and funny...
Reminds me of Harry Nielson's "Put the Lime in the Coconut" for some strange reason. Why?
yall are so full of shit. if ry cooder did this song you would think that it was great
Shame. Tim so much better than this. Its like a Eurovision song entrant
me likey!
I think this song is Tim Buckley at his artistic low point. Who knows why he did it? For all we know he could have been intentionally releasing less exciting material. All I know is that I can't listen to this track. The worst in his catalog in my opinion.
I don't think a light hearted record can't be great. But this is simply not a good song. Not in my opinion.
I know. After hearing his earlier works this is difficult to stomach isn't it? But this is Tim alright.
I love Tim, but I have to say...this right here? Ugh...
Clearly you haven't become any less brainless and incoherent in the last two years...very sad. Keep taking the pills...maybe one day they'll let you out.
I think you've illustrated, very convincingly, just who the moron is. You'll find her in the nearest mirror.
Poor Tim, forced to sing this shit. Poor Tim.
Novel. :)
I would like a peanut butter high, but on a stick or through a straw or something
I'm pretty sure the words are
"Drops of perspiration Jenny pourin' over me hey buddy
Pour another glass of cola, pass it to me
Rum and Coca Cola add some sweet potato to it, you know
Everybody wants to do the peanut butter hop"
@pr00de Thank pr00de. I'll check it out.
@pr00de Thank pr00de. I'll check it out.
@Ezzafive man, if you like this, listen to "starsailor," especially the song "starsailor."
sorry folks, i don't believe this is tim buckley. does anyone have any way of checking it out? certainly it is not listed in the complete works of tb lyrics.
What the Hell are you on???
Did this come before or after "You put dee lime inda coconut an' drink 'em bode up"???
Both fun though. What a voice Tim!
24 years off nonstop Tim for me....
this is what i hear
1st line = "Drops of perspiration jelly
coming over me = "Pourin' over me hey buddy" round of coca cola = "Rum and coca cola"
hook = "You know everybody wants to do the peanut butter hop"
it looks like the lyrics are wrong :/
He sounded like he had fun singing this pop/rnb song. This is def one of his less depressing songs!
Haha. What a crap song. But ace all the same. PASS IT TO ME!
i'm a HUGE buckley fan, but this is definitely one of tim buckley's weakest compositions...fun, but weak...it feels like he put no serious time into writing/composing this track
I'm a huge Tim Buckley fan, and I don't think that he intended for this song to be taken as a serious composition, it was fun, hell when I hear this song, it sounds like he is having a blast. The man had plenty of songs in his corner that could be considered 'serious compositions' now that I think about it what does that really mean? Frank Zappa went to Julliard and had a blast creating some of the most creative, bizarre, and masterful pieces of Cosmik Debris the world may ever hear, heck who knows if you will even see this, you said this 10 years ago, cheers!
