Buckley, Jeff - Gunshot Glitter Lyrics
Don't you wanna let go of your heart
Or you resist the beds of bliss
Fortune makes fools of us all
My dear materialista, silence was insane,
The parting was mutual.
There's room for us both to fly.
Tell the man I'm never coming back again.
Tell the man I'm never coming back again.
Why should you notice at all?
Gone again beside you will fall
Down to the sea out of the skies
Of gold cards and casual tears
I have only come to see you shine
Feminine smiles the right side is wise, more than I.
I wanna be your lover,
Blood red with flaked gunshot glitter
And be one with all you disowned in your young life. You paranoia politician diva.
You paranoia politician diva.
Will you let go of your heart,
Left behind a hypnotizing swirl
The semi's left behind.
Don't you want to rocket to rock?
There's room for both of us to fly
Same show everyday, don't have to blow up in the sky.
So I just came from Hicks town,
Left my coins behind
Maybe some poor cloths pony will buy himself a life
Why should you care if I crash your affair?
Why should you notice me? I really wanna see you shine.
I wanna be your lover,
Lipstick my name across your mirror.
Now, be one with all you disown,
True love has come to us all.
Blinded by the flame, right side smiles,
Organized male, love, my silence was insane.
The parting was mutual the moment I became
A paranoia politician
diva
A paranoia politician diva
A paranoia politician diva
A paranoia politician diva
Diva, diva, diva

Is he eating a banana in that pic
Who are the 9 soulless cunts that listened to this song and gave it a thumbs down?
No one deserves him. Not even myself. Jeff you flew higher than any of us will ever know. Your frequency was so beyond ours. Your enigmatic soul and silky voice will forever live on. ❤️ Rest In Peace my love. May we meet one day.
Here is a very well done cover by Miirors out of Chicago. https://youtu.be/GrAGiePEuqM
such a good song so ahead of his time
forgot this song existed now im back listening to it after a year fuck
Very creative instrumental and amazing songwriter, but it´s absolutely right that he was working in that before die. I can try imagine how this will be finished. Amazing talent, even in sketchs :)
Seems like Jeff made 5 or 6 albums worth of great stuff. All I can say is thanks.
Sketches is a masterpiece just exactly as it is. I love you Jeff. Your music ignited feelings I forget I have and touches things inside me nothing else can. Surely jamming with the rock royalty and singing with the angels
If the 4-track demo was this amazing, I shudder to think how beautiful the finished product would have been. Oh Jeff, I wish you would have went for a swim in a pool rather than a river.
Wolf river. I visited the very spot...not good feelings there but he is most definately with the creator now...saw him at roskilde in 95.
This is so amazing.
bless you
How can a bonus four-track demo be the best song I''ve ever heard?
Fulvio Venanzini Exactly
I actually prefer most of his four track demos to the rest of the polished songs on Sketches. Something very raw and passionate about them, and you can glimpse at what he was striving for creatively with his next album. Something different than Grace, yet just as powerful.
3:01 jeff buckley's cum voice
Tell the man I'm never coming back again
Check out Lukas Rossi - he sounds just like Jeff Buckley!
The song for brats. Genius writer.
Everytime i find a song like this from jeff i wanna cry. I love him so much.
Can't find this on spotify.
This song along with others like thousand fold, sky blue skin and strawberry street have all been added to Spotify a few days ago!
Such a Genius track. Been a minute. Wow.
One of the most dreaming song of ever. I can see the holy moment.
Great video
Total bloody legend he was
gives me a Smashing Pumpkins vibe,
might be why it is one of my favorite buckley songs. The Smashing Pumpkins are my all time favorite band and Buckley my all time favorite singer
Main repeating riff is very similar to guitar part in 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins :)
Smashing pumpkins with an actual singer
"Lipstick my name across your mirror" -
MY NAME JEFF
Scott you mean,..his real name.
brandon bentley his real name is Jeff only his family called him scott. my name is Jeff is an old meme.
I imagine you'll be interested in this incredible and recent cover of the song by My Brightest Diamond! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P_iFaG1S2Q
@Richard Twine love this cover. Just discovered this track isn't on Spotify - what's that about?? The original that is...
life is tough like that soemtimes
+Richard Twine
two of my all time favourite artists. I love you right now. ;)
+TheAnchella That was 2 weeks ago now, I hope the love still burns ;)
3:01 is an unbelievable high note, it's an Eb6, soprano register! This is beyond a gift...
On 4:53 is just an Eb5.
@Sofia Noiti that note is with wistle register, is not that difficult to do isolated, the true gift is to be able to hit it after a normal chest note like g4, and connect it so well.
this is what I mean
ok, it was just if you didn´t know about that, :)
that was his highest recorded note ever.
anyone else love that full D#5 he does at 4:53? haha I love that little climb he does and this song has so much style to it.
SoySauce HairDye It's in Head dominant mixed voice
Timidium are you sure? I think he starts with falseto and maybe use the mixed voice right?
Luciano C. R. You're maybe right, but is it possible to go in falsetto and go in mixed voice with so much ease like that?
He had a very light voice so a lot of his falsetto notes are actually really light mixed notes/ pure head voice notes like that of a female singer who doesn't really use falsetto.
I am convinced he really isn''t going into falsetto there, but instead going into pure head voice (which for a light high tenor like him would sound pretty identical to falsetto except it is fully connected with his entire range). Going from pure head voice to mixed voice is what a lot of female singers do and given that Jeff Buckley's upper range is more of that of a female singer I wouldn't really rule it out as a possibility. No one really knows for sure what type of voice Jeff Buckley had, but he could have easily been a leggiero tenor for all I know which would make his voice easily one of the most flexible voices out there for a male singer. So a vocal run that would be nearly impossible for a deeper voiced singer with even immense talent like Jimmy Gnecco would come much easier for Jeff Buckley.
My girlfriend had to go in to work early this morning. I went to take a shower and saw she lipsticked my mirror with a love letter....this is all I could think about when I saw it.
@Elijah Johnson You should probably quote that.
Every time I hear these demos I like to imagine him recording them by himself in a small room.
That is exactly it. Memphis. Four-track. Front lawn never mowed. No furniture. Just Jeff recording and finding his muse. Incredible.
@mazrio128 and his red phone on the floor beside him...
at least it has to be "organized mayhem". I've always doubted the leaflets one prie example is "So Real" It has many obvious variations from version to version.
I was waiting for a big falsett in the end...
used to listen to this day & night. no one like him
I don't get this song :( can someone explain?
3:01 Jeff sings his highest note ever. His highest note is on the B-sides . It's an Eb above the soprano high C!!!! This is coloratura (high agile soprano) territory! It's kind of a squeaky falsetto note- only for a second, but it's technically phenomenal- it sounds like he was just playing around.
"I really want to see you shine" :)
This appears on the Japanese and Australian versions of 'Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk'. The Japanese version also has the song "Thousand Fold", which isn't on any other releases.
Thousand Fold is on the CD single of Everybody Here Wants You :)
I was lucky to find this track on my european release.. I fall in love with this song immediately the first time I listened to. I imagined how amazing it had been finished or even live on stage .... saw it in the same range as "KangaRoo" which is one of my favourites in live performances, when Jeff transcendents everything note and through his emotional transe state makes every time a new song emerging. Just a magical track too from this amazingly talented young man.
How I love this song. Man, it is somethin' special as was its creator.
This has been my favorite Buckley song since I first heard it in 2001 at a college radio station. Still almost makes me cry, every time I hear it.
Amazing song... Unfortunately an uncompleted album
qual album?
@LeViolonDeLaMort That was my reaction too :')
@HeurtoSkeurto They can't be because I used the lyrics from the booklet in the album itself.
There are a lot of lyrical wrongs in the leaflet, just saying... like, We could be happy, is one of them.....those printed lyrics are wrong and make no sense.
gorgeous lyrics.
"A paranoid politician diva." - brilliant lyrics.
I think he hits his highest note ever in this song.
@owenhunt Oh, well at least you have found it now ^_^
Still one of my most FORGOTTEN JB songs XD
Wow, I don't have this song on the copy of this album that resides on my mobile phone.
Often brits copies are different from the states.
Oh I don't know :/
Google it?
my copy doesnt have this song on it. are there two different versions?
Bee Dee Yes
Excellent! Thank you for the upload. Great pictures, too!
Oh yes ;)
5*s for good album name;)
