Buckley, Jeff - Grace Lyrics
There's the moon asking to stay
Long enough for the clouds to fly me away
Oh, it's my time coming,
I'm not afraid
Afraid to die
My fading voice sings of love,
But she cries to the clicking of time.
Of time
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
The fire.
Walking to the bright lights in sorrow
Oh drink a bit of wine
We both might go tomorrow
Oh my love
And the rain is falling,
I believe my time has come
It reminds me of the pain
I might leave
Leave behind
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
The fire.
It reminds me of the pain
I might leave
Leave behind
And I feel them drown my name
So easy to know and forget with this kiss
I'm not afraid to go but it goes so slow
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.
Wait in the fire.

It's so sad that more people know the Jeff Buckley cover band called coldplay and not Jeff Buckley
Buckley graced us all.
They shorten songs to play for the radio and to cut a single.... but they shouldn't. Perfection should not be tampered with.

Amazingly chaotic yet, so graceful. The first time I ever heard this song, I was laying down on a mattress in an empty room, getting ready to sleep. I usually listen to music when falling asleep, and after hearing Hallelujah, my dad recommended me Grace by Jeff Buckley. After some time, i decided to see why he liked it so much. I remember putting it on queue on Spotify, while I was chatting with my girlfriend at the time. Once Grace started playing, I instanty knew that I was in for a ride. I actually threw my phone across the room, rolled onto my back, and just layed there, staring at the ceiling, listening to the masterpiece that was Grace. For the entire 5 minutes I was in awe, my feelings rushing through all of my emotions. Melancholy, excitement, rebelliousness, hauntedness and every other emotion I had ever known.
So laying in an empty room, I had the most memorable moment I have had and will ever have. After the song had finished, I just layed there, paralysed, trying to comprehend what I had just heard, for about 15 minutes or so. Now, I still listen to his songs, and I watch his interviews over and over again. And to end this, thank you for reading everything and a quote by Jeff: " I'm shaping sound in order to fit a feeling. And making sure that sound is a good vehicle for that feeling."
çok genç gittin be bu dünyadan jeff buckley
Is it just me but does this guy play guitar like Jimmy page and sound a little like Robert Plant? AWESOME!
I come here often. And every time it is ‘Wow’
I can't wait for zoomers to "rediscover" this. If you're a zoomer looking around for some good old music 5 years from now, and you're hearing this for the first time, and you're kinda mad your parents or anyone else in your community didn't introduce you to this first, hit me up, cause we have some shit to talk about. I went through the same thing when I, a filthy millennial, discovered the likes of Prefab Sprout, The Blue Nile, Comsat Angels, The Chameleons, Cocteau Twins, even Joy Division, The Cure, Depeche Mode for the first time. I have some forgotten music in my library you wouldn't believe.
Otherworldly talent. When this first dropped, no less than Jimmy Page said this was his favorite album. That's quite an endorsement!
Amazing song!

I discovered this guy today, I feel so lucky.
Jeff would be turning 53 today, even though he would end up dying someday but his work his work will live in the hearts of generations forever

Very possibly the most underrated song of all time
I really love all about him ❤️
The first time I heard this song was on MTV and I fell in love with this song and with Jeff Buckley’s voice. Now everytime I listen to this song, it feels like the first time.
A passionate genius.
He totally mastered his voice. Is really impressive.
I still remember clearly the first time I saw these video back in 1998. I felt a catharsis, something you experience very little in your life while admiring something beautiful and moving.
Jeff is special. I hold his songs and his voice to my heart dearly.
Absolute gift to music - a genius vocal performance, operatic... powerful, gorgeous, delicate - so much force yet so fragile. Also, outstanding drumming

Thanks.
The first time I ever heard this song was when I was giving a co-worker a chair massage at work. She had this playing on her computer at a very low volume. Gave me chills even though I could hardly hear it. Still does to this day.
After inspection of any song ever. I’d have to say this is my favorite song ever.
Oh drink a bit of wine we both might go tomorrow
R.I.P. Jeff Buckley, a genius who left this world too early

great stuff....heard the name often but never the music. could have benefited from less clean production on drums..maybe slightlly rougher vocal mic...technically advanced to the point where you cant tell exactly whats happening immediately....will have to examine this
Alguém veio pelo pipocando música ?
When I first heard the song it was on MTV, something about it made me think of Mahalia Jackson. This extremely sad song from the '60s version of Imitation of Life, one of the saddest scenes in a movie. The only time I saw my ex-mother-in-law cry watching a movie was during this scene.

Seeing him on screen makes me get butterflies in my tummy ☺️🙌🏻
Jeff reminds me of Janis Joplin, with his intense vocal ability and passion. No holding back at all. You don't see this kind of singing lately. Lady Gaga maybe.
