Buckinghams, The - Kind Of A Drag Lyrics
Kind of a drag
When your baby don't love you
Kind of a drag
When you know she's been untrue
To what I've gotta say (and I know that you've been cheating, oh, I hope that that we'll be meeting)
Girl, I still love you (ooh, I still love you)
I'll always love you (ooh, I'll always love you)
Anyway
Anyway
Anyway
Kind of a drag
When your baby says goodbye
Kind of a drag
Oh, girl (listen to me when I'm speaking cause you know the words I'm thinking)
Even though you made me feel blue (and I know that you've been cheating, oh, I hope that that we'll be meeting)
I still love you (ooh, I still love you)
I'll always love you (ooh, I'll always love you)
Anyway
Anyway
Anyway
(Ooh...)
Oh, listen (listen to me when I'm speaking cause you know the words I'm thinking)
To what I've gotta say (and I know that you've been cheating, oh, I hope that that we'll be meeting)
Girl, I still love you (ooh, I still love you)
I'll always love you (ooh, I'll always love you)
Anyway
Anyway
Anyway
Anyway
Anyway

Buckinghams, The Kind Of A Drag Comments
Nice beginning horn section got no credit or was it keyboards? Sounds too real for keys
I especially love the organ part at 1:20.
Drummer's playing air snares? They could only afford a bass drum.
Kind of a drag it sure nuff was a drag back when this song hit charts we talkin bout high school which wasn't a drag at all its
I know the song says “anyway”
But I sing it as “anywhere”
Jeff Tweedy's favorite singer
8th grade
One of my ole time favorites !!!!!
Why not put the composer and year on these videos?
I like the trumpet in most of the song and no ones playing it in the video. lol.
Songs gay!
So are you

from the compilation of "Songs You Loved to Hate". how lame is this tune?
Great song of the period...and still is.
back when I was young late at night when shows were off the air infomercials would come on and I recall the "dick clark rock n' roll era" which was a volume of music cd's from the 50's and 60's. it would show short samples of songs and videos from this time. back then I used to watch them in that full hour in bed late at night and think to myself "man I wish they'd show the full songs with the videos"...never would I have imagined back then I can get what I want at a push of a button, really takes me back and still blows my mind how much the computer has evolved. anyone else 'member that ad?
TV producers must have really thought people were stupid back then. There are no amps, the guitars are not plugged in, the horn section is invisible, and the drummer has half a kit. Great song, great band, but terrible video!
Love this song!!
Still do!!❤❤
Kind of a drag when modern music sucks
Love the 60s ! This song too !
No. 141 on my All-Time Top 100
LOVE IS A DRAG WHEN SHE SAYS GOODBYE!!!!
This song came out when I was in 5th grade. I have always liked it. But like some others, I originally thought the name of the song was "Canada Dry". You know, the ginger ale.....
I was 10 growing up in Arica Chile Yeah baby!!
They should have put that trumpet player in the group.
One of my first 45's
That's right Cindy it's 22 minutes past the hour and now here's The Buckingham's with....."Kind of a Drag"
Wasn't this on the charts for like 64 weeks?
It was a great song back in 1967. I was 12 yrs old, so in love a cute little lady
Ah, the sounds, the hair, the heartbreak and the HARMONY of the sixties! BEST EVER!!!!
♫♫ canada dryyy ♫♫♫
If this isn't the best song of the 1960s...it's certainly in the top ten. And their record company didn't want to release it! Lead singer Dennis Tufano, now 72, is still performing around the country. (The Buckinghams too, separately.)
Gives me memories of sitting on the fan bus back in what ever year this song was out. Good one.
#1 when I was born
Quitting Cigarettes, that's kind of a drag,me it's been over 5 months since I had one, please either Pray or send 60s rainbow vibes to me! Thanks.Onelove,D.A.Tillman
What a drag
Still a great song.
DAVE JORDAN BROUGHT ME 2 THIS PLACE !
The women really loved this guy.
Where are they hiding the horns?
The part in the middle where it's just music and no singing is my favorite part.
Looks like J.W.'s old Univox violin bass-
Sorry..I'm gen x ...I meant
God I wish I was alive in this era in gen x I grew up in the early 90s which I'm ok with but I love the 60 s 70 s era a lot too
THIS SONG IS CERTAINLY NO DRAG
No horns were present during the recording of this video
The arranger of the horns went on to arrange The Chicago horn section.
And they are an american band from Chicago
These mafuckas harmonies be on point, son!
Number one song the day I was born.
Kind of a Drag by The Buckinghams featuring The Invisible Brass Section.
Topper Harley brought me here... Not disappointed. (Y)
Totally captures the 60s sounds.. Greatness!!!
I remember this from pre k lol
Cant believe anybody would give this thumbs down
When I was a kid and this song was a hit I always thought the opening lines were "Canada Dry". I could never figure out why he was singing Canada Dry until I came to learn the song's title. Anyhow, I love this song from my childhood.
Original: The Buckinghams ( U.S. ) - Kind of a drag ( 1967 ). Covers: Los Locos del Ritmo ( México ) - Qué pasará ( 196? ). Los Brillos ( México ) - Hazme soñar ( 1968 ). Germán Freytes ( Venezuela ) - Protesta contra los cohetes ( 1968 ).
I was a kid when this was big. I thought he was singing
"Canada Dry
When your baby says goodbye
Canada Dry
When you feel like you want to cry"
My mom thought this was a commercial song for a local soda bottling company called Canada Dry ..She would sing Canada Dry .. when your baby don't love you.
I just saw The Buckinghams perform Kind of a Drag today at Naperville Ribfest on the 4th of July. Sounded pretty good.
John Mellencamp, in an interview by Bob Costas. laughed when he recalled how his girlfriend at the time sang this as "Canada Dry."
Love the budget drum set.
I heard this song when new and loved it.I was a child, but understood the lyrics of these songs...and they all had a good tempo.
La🐺❤la 🎼Kind of a Drag - The Buckinghams ¸.•'**☆ ╰⊰✿ 🎹🎸
Amazing how they get those trumpet sounds from a guitar.
Always liked these guys...
My favorite song back then😆
my first 45 record was this song, "Kind of a drag", simple and great times
a bit of "He's so Fine" to start
It's funny how those guitars produce the sounds of trumpets.
Oops, that's not a Gretsch, it's either a Guild or an Epiphone. Still cool.
Wow! Check out the Gretsch 6120
Great song and fantastic group
That's right Cindy, it's 23 minutes past the hour. Now here's the Buckinghams with Kind of a Drag.
I too was at Fort order 1970. RJ
This is a Satanic march!!!
Such good music
Topper Harley brought me here xD
Kind of one of the best songs...ever
A++++++++
Great song, hard to believe it’s been 50 years since I first heard it, crikey!!
Kind of a drag
When your baby don't love you
Kind of a drag
When you know she's been untrue
Oh oh, listen to what I've gotta to say
Girl, I still love you
I'll always love you
Anyway, anyway, anyway
Kind of a drag
When your baby says goodbye
Kind of a drag
When you feel like you want to cry
Oh oh girl, even though you make me feel blue
I still love you
I'll always love you
Anyway, anyway, anyway
Oh, listen to what I've gotta say
Girl, I still love you
I'll always love you
Anyway, anyway, anyway
Heavens to Murgatroid---has it been 50 years?
Snagglepuss brought me here.
Great music & memories of life, solid gold standard of excellence
I just saw the Buckinghams last night at Westbury Music Fair. The original lead singer, Carl Giammarese was there along with Nick Fortuna (another original member) and they sounded fantastic. There were three other musicians on stage but I don't think they were original members.
I have an alternative version of Kind of a drag.....You're kind of a drag when you're with dressed up in woman's cloths...You're kind of in drag when you wearing a wig too ....OK...Maybe not ....how about this: It's kind of a Drag when you owe the Gambinos 100 large , ..They're gonna break you legs, cause you don't' have the dough
Dennis Tufano....you rock.
Classic jaja
Probably one of the best bands of the sixties
Where are the horns?
I still love you!
I seen the lead singer on WQLN he looks so fine!
Saw recently on PBS ..he looks great !!
I always thought he was singing
Canada Dry
So did my best friend! I just thought he was weird. Keep on trucking'.
AH! After all these years I find that I was not alone in that!
@Rush Glick me too canada dry ginger ale
