Buckingham, Lindsey - One Take Lyrics

I'm a soldier in the bandlands
Never looking out behind
When the feeling rushes over me
I do it for the company
My soul is hard to find
And I do good business
With the wastelands below
Giving passports to places
That you never really thought that you would
Ever want to go

One take over the line
Everything's gonna be fine
Then what's sure to be mine (that's right!)
One take over the line
Somebody give me a sign
The mistress is gonna go blind
One take over the line (that's right!)
One take over the line

No I have no reputation
And I'm not on any list
That's because I've got a publicist
Who covers up the avarice of where I put my fist
And if you don't see me
It doesn't mean I'm not there
It only means that when I steal from you
I don't want you to know because I really really care

One take over the line
Everything's gonna be fine
Then what's sure to be mine (that's right!)
One take over the line
Somebody give me a sign
The mistress is gonna go blind
One take over the line (that's right!)
One take over the line

Aaaahhhh Aaaahhhhh

One take over the line
Everything's gonna be fine
Then what's sure to be mine (that's right!)
One take over the line
Somebody give me a sign
The mistress is gonna go blind
One take over the line (that's right!)
One take over the line

I'm just another madman
Looking for another fall
And I got to make a killing
Cause a journey of a billion
Always starts with something small
I'm just another madman
I turn it off, I turn it on
And I won't be denied
No I won't be satisfied
Til the middle class is gone.

Buckingham, Lindsey One Take Comments
  1. C.... R....

Am I right in thinking this is possibly the most versatile electric guitar ever made ?

  2. C.... R....

You lucky bugger getting to play his actual guitar omg I'm soon jealous

  3. D.... ....

Is it me, or does John look like Jim Jarmusch? LOL But seriously, what an AWESOME guitar! (and nice playing on it by John as well!) But how did Lindsey achieve that volume attack on Silver Springs and such? Some people say he did it with the volume knob after striking the strings. But could also be a volume pedal. Or my fave, run it through a Yamaha CS synth with Trig and VCA set just so? I've gotten close, but never quite right?

  4. h.... ....

got free tickets to fm at  msg. a few years ago, this was the only guitar he used all night got sick of the sound of the guitar by the end of the night.

    h.... ....

It wasn't this one but another Model 1

  5. B.... W....

I want one really bad. My wife says I already have too many guitars. I told her that’s not possible to have too many. Haha

    B.... W....

I believe this one is for sale.

  6. G.... K....

Lindsey Buckingham is so awesome - if he's not playing in Fleetwood Mac tours, I don't go to see them. Peter Green and Bob Welsh were great too.

  7. I.... P....

I want expecting to have the coolest slide guitar demo ever. thank you.

  8. A.... W....

Playing Lindsey's guitar with a pick? Wait, that's illegal.

  9. f.... ....

How refreshing. You can play that thing.

  10. S.... ....

Why would Buckingham even let this guitar out of his sight?

    S.... ....

It was the original prototype. Lindsey has the final version (several of them up to six). A demo if you will. He (LB) probably wasn't interested in retaining the prototype as mush as Rick Turner wanted it back to make the refinements.

    S.... ....

Lindsey played it for over 20 years on stage as his primary instrument but after all the road wear, he traded it back to Turner for a fresh one.

  11. R.... D....

i was appalled whn i first saw this on the Mirage tour..lol.

  12. B.... Y....

I cant understand....what is it in this instrument that keep pulling me back over and over again to listen to it.... there is just something Really Special about it and its sound...

  13. L.... G....

    *_Most versatile guitar ever!_*

  14. R.... L....

chortle - I remember being a disappointed 14 yr old when I saw him with this guitar - what the ?! .. .looks like a ukulele on steroids!

  15. R.... D....

WoW what guitar. The richness of the tones are phenomenal. Ya, certainly would like to play it.

  16. r.... ....

I love this guy..He is the greatest..

  17. D.... B....

I always said, if there was anything in the world I would want to possess, it would be Lindsey's guitar!

    D.... B....

This has been for sale recently

  18. P.... S....

No thanks.ill just keep my strato and my Paulo.

  19. e.... ....

  20. t.... t....

    what an amazing sound.

  21. C.... K....

    Great review, good sounds!

  22. W.... ....

wow - I'd thought LB was playing some kind of kids acoustic guitar. Now I see it up close it's unique and beautiful!

  23. B.... R....

One ugly ass guitar but sounds great.

  24. d.... r....

Coincidence...last night I was watching a video of him playing that...and i thought it was a B&G Little Sister....at a distance they looked similar. Nice sounding....Checkout the B&g....

  25. M.... J....

    PEE-AY-ZOE.......Geez.

  26. B.... R....

There are so many really good guitarist's out there, but Lindsey Buckingham is my all time favorite! So there. I said it and I am not taking it back! So thanks, John.

  27. D.... w....

    Similar to the Red Special

  28. j.... m....

    ❤️💛❤️💛

  29. J.... M....

This is the only "one" guitar I would want to have forever. Thanks for sharing.

    J.... M....

It has been for sale recently

  30. B.... ....

Rhiannon DOES ring like a bell thru the night too.

  31. B.... ....

I knew what that was the second i saw the pic. VERY COOL.

  32. D.... ....

Like a built-in BBE Sonic Maximizer on that last knob with a variable roll-off! Wow!

  33. K.... O....

All this time I though John Bohlinger was just some dude who did videos for PG. Dude's a great guitarist.

  34. R.... H....

I love guitars, but my only musical skill is listening

  35. A.... R....

love the slide tone, you' were crushin that one too. rad guitar, i'd love to have one.

  36. J.... C....

Good GOD MAN! That guitar can really sing! I'm not a fan of Lindsey at all, but this guitar.....tone for DAYS!

  37. B.... ....

I always assumed the pickup was mounted as it is because it could be slanted for more tones. I was wrong...

  38. L.... T....

    24 frets!

  39. M.... L....

Simply the best blues/ jazz guitar ever! Quality and clarity in one. Amazing! Want one! Worth every penny!

  40. S.... D....

    Nevermind

  41. S.... D....

Is that a copy, or his real one ??

    S.... D....

    Apparently you weren't listening

    S.... D....

His first model 1 and the primary one he used on stage for 20+ years

  42. k.... b....

Sounds like a bag of shit squire

  43. R.... B....

    amazing video!

  44. w.... ....

Pardon my ignorance, but aren't Rick Turner's guitars, named Monroe at the headstock?

    w.... ....

@Jeffrey Schlichter , have you heard of Robert Monroe Turner? I have a guitar i bought at an auction,(Monroe) headstock, 1986 NAMM show instrument of the year, or builder of the year. supposedly, I'm trying to find out more about this guitar, it's amazing.

    w.... ....

    Not Robert Turner. Rick Turner.

  45. J.... B....

    Thousands of tours?? lol

    J.... B....

    Exactly!

  46. E.... D....

    I love Rick Turner guitars.

  47. R.... G....

Don't let Kurt Russell near it

  48. S.... '....

Wow dude, great demonstration. Now I want one of these (yea right) very versatile, and great tone. First time I saw Lindsay playing this, I said What's up with the Chiquita guitar??.
    Too cool and original 👌

  49. R.... ....

Is it the guitar the guy from Fleetwood mac played?

    R.... ....

Yes. And the builder came out of the Grateful Dead's off shoot gear company, Alembic. They built tons of amazing instruments including some of John McVie's Basses for Fleetwood Mac

  50. P.... L....

That is one amazing guitar ‼️

  51. M.... J....

Can Lindsay still play guitar anymore?

    M.... J....

    Ask your mom.

  52. S.... L....

I am surprised that Justin Johnson does not own one.

  53. t.... ....

    Great video JB!!!

  54. G.... M....

I just want to know how he came into possession of that guitar.

    G.... M....

i was VERY confused. (EX: usually PG would be showing something like this b/c it's a Signature Model RECREATION that we can buy..... so...um... WHAT IS THIS VIDEO DOING? He claims it's Lindsay's ACTUAL guitar... then later says there were a bunch made FOR Lindsay... so... did Lindsay SELL those and now John or PG OWNS ONE??) The video doesn't explain so much. (EX: ASK Lindsay or his techs what that faux -string tree is explicitly for.) (We can assume so the high
strings don't fall off the saddle when LB is fingerplucking hard.)

SHOCKINGLY bad video in that regard.

    G.... M....

    @Dumpy Goodness It's a recreation by Heartbreaker guitars https://heartbreakerguitars.com/collections/rick-turner/lindsey-buckingham

    G.... M....

No. It is not a recreation. This is the original one. Lindsey played it for 20+ years and then traded it bac in to Turner for a fresh one. Turner recently did a tribute version of in a limited run. This is not one of those.

  55. R.... I....

    Good job, John.

  56. o.... ....

he is the most undderated guitarst ever, truly amazing, i`ve put a lot of people onto his work....

    o.... ....

    For sure! Incredible guitarist!

  57. m.... H....

So cool! I watched this years ago but love it the 2nd time just as much! Shame on Fleetwood Mac!!!

  58. P.... H....

Oh damn! I love this! I would love a reissued version of this guitar. Absolutely iconic!

  59. V.... ....

That things got perfect action and nice tone.

  60. J.... R....

All that with one only pickup! What an amazing guitar!

  61. R.... O....

I was watching a Joe Walsh video on guitar set ups years ago . As a lot of you know , he was very fond of the Godin electric and he actually had a Signature model with them. In his conversation he mentioned how Godin made the best neck and fretboard set up which set the two E strings exactly in the right placings so the pick ups would capture the vibrations , he said no other guitar maker has managed to be so precise .

  62. a.... ....

*7:23** Both knobs were not moved. Only the leftmost knob, which was moved up (presumably to give more hand clearance, as it was originally pretty close to the other knobs.) The other hole is where the jack originally used to be, before it was moved to the side of the body. You can see the original locations of both if you google up old tour pics of Lindsey.*

  63. a.... ....

*Dude has a lot of hair AND is going bald at the same time.*

  64. y.... t....

And what are you doing with it, give it back to Lindsey. W Percival from New Zealand 🇳🇿 Gardenia🌺 Band and Rarotonga Cook Islands 🇨🇰 Kia Orana

  65. T.... ....

I've always LOVED that Guitar...the sound and the look. But I've wondered why it was never made available. I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

    T.... ....

i could never like the LOOK... b/c a circle in the middle will always say TOILET SEAT, vs a Strat pickguard, or SG pickguard etc.

    T.... ....

@Dumpy Goodness dam fine lookin 🚽

  66. G.... C....

Wow man that's really something special.

  67. D.... L....

He signed a green toy guitar in so. Cal and i had it at my apartment house in san lorenzo. In 2012

  68. G.... L....

Great review and playing... I mean really!

  69. G.... ....

Lindsey's a great player but always thought this guitar was ugly.

  70. B.... H....

John, you killed the slide on that jam man.... love it

  71. I.... F....

It´s very nice and "diferent", nice video ...... but......... 6000 dollars..... you know....

  72. R.... R....

Turner created a single guitar that sounds like all guitars. Amazing...

    R.... R....

I'm confused. Why can't you adjust the TONE KNOBS of a Les Paul to sound thin and bright like a Strat?

    R.... R....

@Dumpy Goodness I guess you could, but why would you? People play certain guitars because of their signature sound. Les Pauls feature those beefy humbuckers and Strats feature those thinner, yet more nimble single coils. I think the cool thing about this guitar is that it doesn't require any adjustments. The difference in sounds is pretty simple.

  73. M.... A....

I had one of these, with the piezo, for a while. The active / piezo aspects were great for sharp, clean playing. But ultimately, for rock, I realized that my passive Les Paul already had the depth and fatness that I wanted and the Turner did not. I found the red l.e.d. to be an unessesary modern eyesore to that nice wood top.
Still, a beautifully crafted instrument, although the neck did have a notably uncommon feel to it. For me, it felt like a niche instrument and I don't really miss having it.

  74. A.... C....

I always loved that guitars sound and look. It reminds me of Brian Mays guitar. Handmade with incredible tones.

  75. l.... j....

Sash yes another great guitar only RICH OR STARS CAN AFFORD OR GET FOR FREE.

  76. e.... ....

I owned one of these for half a second about 10 years ago. It is a tone monster as described but much like an Italian or German car it was a money pit to maintain. The electronics are fiddly at best and were constantly shorting out. Also it is a frigging boat anchor...don't let the svelte curves fool you. Mine was close to 9.5 pounds strapped on. It had to go.

  77. Y.... F....

    The intro lick though \m/
    The outro as well !

  78. Y.... F....

    The intro lick though \m/
    The outro as well !

  79. P.... ....

    Nice machine. Legend.

  80. G.... F....

The single most interesting guitar ever, next would be the peter green. Les Paul,

  81. J.... T....

I know where several of these reside. Need to test drive one after this demo. This thing is everything.

    J.... T....

Joseph Travis could you let me in on this? I would like to purchase one myself

    J.... T....

@Jim Wilkey they were located @ International Vintage Guitar in New Orleans. I went on-line after I posted this to check and they were all gone! Keep an eye on the site. One may pop up again.

  82. M.... R....

Damn, I can't stand this guy, (in a good way). Such a talented guitar player & im not. Sickens me.👍

  83. t.... ....

That reminds me of Jimmy Driftwood’s guitar....the one Jimmy’s dad made from the headboard of his grandma’s bed! https://youtu.be/y1BiPbxX1YU

  84. M.... T....

Why doesn't someone (anyone) make copies of this guitar and sell them???

    M.... T....

Someone does, he's called Rick Turner.

  85. J.... D....

    L o v e i t .

  86. r.... ....

I have always wanted to know which control did what on this guitar. Now I do. Thanks so much.  Incidentally,  nicely played too. Thanks again

  87. j.... ....

    Liked the monte montgomery intro!

  88. b.... v....

Sounds fabulous, reminds me of the red special

  89. S.... E....

That is a fascinating instrument. Does it feel odd to play sitting down? It looks kinda diminutive.

  90. P.... K....

I wish I could indulge in buying this guitar but don't have $5k floating around.
    Wonderful instrument.

    P.... K....

$5K might buy the humbucker. All a working guy/gal can do is enjoy the sound. Especially if you have a family to raise. Or tuition to pay/loans to pay back.

  91. S.... G....

    Holy all-in-one guitar Batman!

  92. E.... F....

Man that guitar is the coolest

  93. S.... P....

A well used preferred instrument like that is a celebrity itself.

    S.... P....

A well preserved instrument is a tribute to it's raw materials.
As it ages it's legend only grows

  94. j.... ....

That was awesome John thank you!

  95. C.... B....

"The head left the body at one point"

  96. M.... S....

The strap button is there to simulate a lowered stop tail. This was done to increase the tension/feel on the higher strings when bending. Pretty cool idea.

  97. B.... S....

    That's the "Smackmyho" model.

  98. J.... ....

    Massive guitar chops.

  99. E.... D....

Would like to give this video five more likes.
