we just finished rice harvest here in Stuttgart Arkansas and this describes exactly what we do God bless the farmer and the trucker my husband and his hired help ran non stop for 5 months field prep and planting then harvest.

John Deere has better technology than case ih and my brother is john deere tech and he said yes it the name but theres much more in john deere tractors and case ih puts silly stuff in their tractors for who needs a big handle as a trottle john deere dont make silly stuff like that thats just my opinion but we are all farmers

ye true not a fan of the new ones at all i like my 3rd gen but wouldnt mind getting ahold of a 1st gen

I don't think Cummins are over rated at all... BUT, the ones from a few years back are a lot better than the newer ones, that's a fact. Injector pumps were better and would produce more power, turbos were better, etc. But the new ones are STILL better than any Duracrap or powerstroke out there.

haha all you guys are scruff's. As long as the tractor runs. It works. It also depends on how you take care of it. John Deere and Case are great machines dont get me wrong.. 3 quarters of the time its not to tractors make with the problems. It's the operator!

That's one opinion. I aggree that that John Deere name is what makes the machines rather expensive, but we buy John Deere because of the quality and performance they have given us for decades. Yes, I have a John Deere sticker on my truck, but I wouldn't consider myself a "Bandwagoner" as you put it. My great granddad's farm was started with two JD A's and a Farmall F-12. We run two Case ih Magnums and a Cat Challenger and they are great tractors, but there IS a reason we keep buying John Deere.

You couldnt buy shit, farm land prices are well into the millions for a field. That's because unlike you, people put great value the service farmers provide. But millions of dollars doesn't make a farmer happy, but harvest time will.
