in the original it is those lyrics. however, he can't release an album with a cover without paying the original owners of the song so by altering the words slightly, he gets around that. for example, Brantley Gilbert wrote songs for Jason Aldean all the time before he made it big. when he self-released his first album, he took a lot of the songs he'd originally wrote for Jason and changed the words a bit. its a legality thing, not a mistake or oversight.
