and yes i think the cd "born to run" was overproduced and overwrought; most of bruce's songs work too hard to be anthems and are laced with pomposity. But sure he's a very talented songwriter.

I have loved this song since it was new, but somehow I never saw this video until now and it really gives the song a whole new meaning. From only listening, I always got the sense that he was making a confident declaration that "It's alright, it's alright," but the feeling conveyed through the expression on his face when he sings, "It's alright," it's more of a desperate plea for everything the be alright. Beautiful song. Goes deep.
