Bruce Hornsby - Meds Lyrics
I'm sitting here on the phone
Just listening to the dial tone
And if I dial I hope I find nobody home
I've been in pain unceasing and I tried to deep-breathe
I can't take the murk, so whatever works
I'll take what you've got, to tame the beast I serve
Beast I serve
I've been loving, been loving, you
With a little help from the meds
With a little help from some sympathetic souls
Embraced in a tender loving hold and it's got me on this road
I've been straight-ahead, out the bed
Straight up and down off the ground
Embraced in a loving tender hold
In a loving, loving tender hold
I'm been loving, been loving, you
With a little help from the meds
With a little help from some sympathetic souls
Embraced in a loving tender hold
Loving, loving, loving tender hold
Yes I've been
I'd rather feel nothing than this
Wanted to stop feeling
Oh we've all had that wish
At the edges, at the margins
This feeling starts creeping in
Gets worse and worse, more and more
Then my dull eyes have brightened
Oh they're brighter
I've been loving, been loving, you
With a little help from the meds
With a little help from some sympathetic souls
Embraced in a loving tender hold
Loving tender hold
I've been straight-ahead, out the bed
Straight up and down off the ground
With a little help from some sympathetic souls
Embraced in a loving tender hold
Oh, tender hold
With a little help from some
With a little help from some
With a little help from some
Embraced with your loving
Embraced in a loving loving tender hold
I've been in pain unceasing
Oh, tried to deep-breathe
Oh, makes a bottomless seethe
Straight up and down
Straight up and down and I'm off the ground
Up and down, up and down, up and down, down
Pain unceasing, tried to deep-breathe
In a tender loving tender hold
In a tender hold

That's what I call intelligent, surprising, exciting pop music. What was the order of the day in the 70s - finally a big album again, which unfortunately remains completely undervalued or invisible in the stupid machinery of the music industry. Thank you for that, Bruce Hornsby. Another really great work in your Œuvre.
a piece of joe walsh ,a piece of chicago a piece of garbarek,a piece of brian wilson.........but all they are a piece of hornsby himself....great great great.
One of the best things he's ever done
This is a masterpiece
Can't get enough of this song.
I get a "Comfortably Numb" vibe from this song
Best track off this brilliant album.
Hmmm reminds me of an Annie Lennox song from American beauty
Soundtrack with the flat third
