many years ago, i said these words - black sabbath cracked the earth of metal and priest paved the way. iron maiden just elevated it. a person doesn't have to like a certain band ie like mrshadowofthewind who doesn't like priest - it just is.. i totally agree with your summation.

One, I am a musician,, guitar and bass for 24 years, and am also a dramatic Tenor operatic metal singer as long as I can remember, there is musical fact and there is opinion. Secondly, if you wish to seem as though you know of what you speak, you should type and use grammar better than that of a 7 year old.

That is your opinion not a fact , i don't even like Priest ,and Maiden has several albums with a big 80ties stamp ,and they sound less unique then Black Sabbath ,i like Bruce's solo albums better.But i like Black Sabbath the most ,as you could probably tell ,much more versatile and groovy along with great lyrics.

While I agree that Toni Iommi Invented heavy metal with Geezer, the fact is, Sabbath invented it, Priest gave it an identity, and Maiden Perfected it.

Let me put it this way ,Black Sabbath started everything ,without them there would not have been a Bruce Dickinson heavy metal vocalist.So the real legends are every Sabbath member.Besides ,their music is far more versatile then anything that came out after them ,and in my opinion that goes for any 60/70ties band.

Wish I can remember that far back! Don't remember which day but I remember they were recording for the Live after Death album. I also remember how shocked at how great the seats were when I picked them up at will call. I won them by being the 12th caller late at night from a local radio station KLOS!

Janick, Clive Burr and Paul Di'Anno released an album with the band Gogmagog in 1985.
Tattoed Millionaire was recorded in 1989, and released in 1990. They did not include Bring Your Daughter.. (was in Nightmare on Elm Street 5), since Maiden planned to record it.

It took me a while before I found out that Bruce had gone solo before he rejoined Maiden. So you're not alone. Anyway this proofs Maiden without Bruce is no Maiden.

Bruce knew Janick from before, he asked Janick to play on his first solo album. From there Janick was brought into Maiden, because Adrian had left.

Adrian played on the last two albums (97-98) before Bruce and Adrian re-joined Maiden in 1999.

I think Maiden done a good job when they hired dickingson, having said that Paul Diano did do a cracking 2 albums and blaze bailey also done a brilliant two albums but Bruce is my legend.
