Bruce Cockburn - A Dream Like Mine Lyrics
When you've got a dream like mine
Nobody can take you down
When you've got a dream like mine
Nobody can push you around
Things were different before
The picture shifts to how it's going to be
Balance restored
When you know even for a moment
That it's your time
Then you can walk with the power
Of a thousand generations
When you've got a dream like mine
Nobody can take you down
Nobody can push you around
Beautiful rocks, beautiful grass
Beautiful soil where they both combine
Beautiful river, covering sky
Never thought of possession, but all this was mine
When you know even for a moment
That it's your time
Of a thousand generations
When you've got a dream like mine
Nobody can take you down
When you've got a dream like mine
Nobody can push you around

Bruce Cockburn A Dream Like Mine Comments
BC is best when he stays away from politics. This song is sublime.
One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

Bruce, Van Morrison, Warren Zevon and Jimmy Buffett define my childhood oh
The nostalgia
I think that I saw him, in 1984, in Dekalb, IL, playing songs from his Stealing Fire" Album!!! => An AWESOME Show, at the "Egyptian Theater"!!!
you ready to kick some ass?

A dream like ours...
This is still my favorite Bruce Cockburn album. Timeless.
Saw him on the tour for this album, solo show, one of the best shows I've ever been to. Made me a fan.
My husband and I had a meet and greet with him after a show. We took a photo. He is a real gentleman and of course a very talented musician.
Love,

jus' outta curiosity, who was US President in that year?
Bruce, an canadian legend, great albums and great songs from the sixties, still alive..
Very special........Mr.Cockburn !!!
very nice :* thank you Up
Never get bored of this. :) Grew up listening to Cockburn (and I'm not Canadian either), and I feel blessed for it. :D
Me too heard him doing a solo gig @ a winery one hot night in Saratoga CA. He produced some of the heat himself with his guitar licks and wonderful vocals...so yeah I've heard him many times when I lived in SF Bay Area.
Not only that, a world-class guitarist. I've seen him in front of 5000 people with an acoustic guitar and no band, holding the audience transfixed with just his playing. That's something you don't know from this video, because this is a full band arrangement. He can burn up the frets and amaze people.
And he still does. Saw him a few months ago and he is still a rare talent on guitar.
I have also seen Bruce about 5 times live! Actually, I first heard this song for the first time back in 1995. I have a fan ever since.
one of his best
good stuff, thanks
love this song
I've had the opportunity to hear him live and he's the real deal. Fantastic singer/songwriter!
that canadian guy is greatly underestimated and talent that could only been given by God
a great song - the guy's got plenty more
