I remember this song from when I was a teenager, but when I heard this song on the radio recently, this song brought tears to my eyes, because the words describe my life and struggles today! Especially, "Caught between the longing for Love and the legal tender"

It was time to revisit Jackson and his creativity...what a fkn talent...so many stories to tell!

Hard to believe that he wrote this when he was 27. There is a lifetime of wisdom and pathos in it👍

I didn't realize Vonda Shepard sang with Jackson until I heard this great song. As soon as I heard the wail after the 3rd verse, I knew the voice. He always gets amazing backup singers and musicians!

What happened to great songs??

So many memories. I was 16 and in love. My husband worked grave yard so I would stay up all night and draw and do artwork at the kitchen table. I always listened to Jackson Browne while I did my drawings, he or James Taylor. I found I did my best stuff listening to Browne. I stayed up all night waiting for my husband to come so we could then sleep together and be on the same routine/pattern. He died 3 years ago, we were together 41 years. He took me to my first concert, and it was Jackson Browne at Freeborn Hall at UC Davis. Thanks Jackson Browne for being there at the best time in my life.
