Brenda Lee - I'll Only Miss Him When I Think Of Him Lyrics

I'll only miss him, when I think of him
And I'll think of him, all the time
Likely I'll spend my days
Hearing his turn of phrase
Things I found hard to praise
Right now would seem sublime

The truth is I'll only miss him
When some stranger laughs
'Cause it's still his laugh
My heart hears maybe in time, I guess
The longing will grow, the slightest bit less
And there will be moments, yes
When it disappears, I'll bet I'll forget him completely
In about a hundred years

I'll bet I'll forget him completely
In about a hundred years

Very nice rendition of this great old song.  Brenda sings it well and the orchestra is great.  it's hard to find better lyrics than those of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen.  I love this song.  Quite a few recorded it.  Some, better than others.

Brenda, saddened at the loss of your Dear Friend George Hamilton.
That most delicate thing, yet at the same time the strongest, a woman's
    Heart. God Bless.
    Your friend always, Bill

Brenda Lee showed a lot of class and taste choosing this underrated song.  The remastering of Nancy Wilson's great version has the strings so loud her subtle phrasing is ruined.

If you can't find it on here, check out a live version Nancy did on the Bob Hope Special December 15th 1965 (its on Youtube). She also sings "This Dream." Starts at 19:27

    @Jim Stark
Thanks, I already found it, but your response was welcome all the same.  I'm not even much of a Nancy Wilson fan, but her wistful version of "I'll Only Miss Him" was an exception.

This is a beautiful song rendered very touchingly. The accompanying music is just perfect - subtle and essential. Your video is marvelous. The black and white scenes fit the song hand in glove. Flat out excellent. Thanks for posting Sir.
