Brenda Lee - Crying Game Lyrics
I know all there is to know about the crying game,
I've had my share of the crying game,
First there kisses,
Then there are sighs,
And then before,
Your sayin' goodbye
One day soon I'm gonna tell the moon about the crying game,
And if he knows,
Maybe he'll explain,
Why there are heartaches,
Why there are tears,
And what to do,
To stop feelin' blue,
First there are kisses,
Then there are sighs,
And then before,
You know where you are,
Your sayin' goodbye
Don't want no more of the crying game,
Don't want no more of the crying game

A heartfelt version by Brenda that hits the spot.

Candyland was a masterpiece holy shit
supreme
u know it man!!
Candyland
joey ilog Candyland
This version is absolutely awful please take it off thank you
Did Owen Bradley produce this gem?
Sorry but Dave Berry this song is best by him
Didnt even know Boy George covered it.
There's only one version of this song and that's the original by Dave Berry. This is too much of a belter for me
So which came first--Brenda Lee's version or Dave Berry's?
Dave Berry
Meravigliosa! ❤❤
Brenda's version is the best.
Still the best version! 2019 and loved her forever!
the movie was pure genius
Accidentally stumbled upon this version which I never knew existed. So glad I did. This is brilliant!
One of the 3 good versions of this song, the two being Dave Berry & Peters & Lee
@Peter Townsend - and the version by Boy George.
Awesome song by Brenda lee
Such a different set of emotions on this version than the Boy George one.
awesome
VOICE ¡!¡!¡!😮😮😮😮😮
I like this voice.
The great Brenda Lee. ❤
Is there a karaoky of of her version out there. She is fab.
this is a terrible terrible whiny high pitched cover of a great song!
Oh my word.... This has got to be the very best version of this song.
Incredible arrangement. Stunning orchestration and her voice.... Oh My God... Her voice.
She was a great singer but here the backing is over powering it is just too much.
I had no idea she sang this song! I was only familiar with BG’s version. I do prefer his because of the upbeat tempo. But, if BG would have put the type of emotion into the song that she did and made the music more haunting his version would have been sheer perfection.
Que hermosa vos de mujer
Walter Lopez es un travesti.. Ah no para esa era la pelicula
Brenda Lee is one of the most underrated singers in history.
The Velvet Underground should've taken a stab at this song.
I don't care for when people try to label great singers like Brenda Lee as 'country'. Not that there's anything wrong with being 'country' but she's more than that, a lot more.
Don't try to put the great ones into smaller boxes and understand that they belong to the world.
Brenda Lee coming on strong.
She's every bit country as she is Rockabilly as she is Pop as she is balladeer. A true vocal talent that few others surpass. Pure dynamite.
Beautiful!
Would have liked to hear Petula Clark sing this in the 1960s. 1:29 LOVE the backup singing. Can't stand 1960s NYC girl groups and Brenda Lee sounds like them.
The original by Dave Berry remains the best.
Kees Kleinendorst - of course! With a super hot young Jimmy Page killing it on the guitar
You must admit Brenda Lee's version is very nice. But Berry's best.
This song and version is so haunting BG did a great job, but this version simply is the Best Version so strong full of emotion and Magical,
The era of music can not be beat
who wrote this song?
Well, the song was originally sung by the British singer, Dave Berry. I believe he wrote the song as well.
debbie mcardle dave berry
Geoff Stephens
Michelle Obama.
I'm in the shower
I've heard EVERY version of this song--and this one murders them ALL. For the sole reason she puts sooooo much more emotion in the lyrics. Dave Barry is kind of a flatliner. Brenda's is pure pathos.
Not as good as the original
Red Foley, upon the first time he heard a very young Brenda Lee sing "Jambayala:"
"I still get cold chills thinking about the first time I heard that voice. One foot started patting rhythm as though she was stomping out a prairie fire but not another muscle in that little body even as much as twitched. And when she did that trick of breaking her voice, it jarred me out of my trance enough to realize I'd forgotten to get off the stage. There I stood, after 26 years of supposedly learning how to conduct myself in front of an audience, with my mouth open two miles wide and a glassy stare in my eyes." -Red Foley
Perfection.
i love her version of this songv
She really can't do no wrong. Love her
Great lyrics.
For me this is the best version by a country mile ...She was only 4ft 9" as well ...Pocket dynamite ...
Phelps440 hear hear. Boy George's version is amazing but Brenda is the true queen.
George IS a queen.
Dave Berry was twice her height, so by your reconing--he is twice as good.
Phelps440 boy george sounds too effeminate
I really don't think Dave Berry was 9 feet tall.
Superb! This song came to mind today after Obama'a fake boo hoo fest.
This is dern good, better than Berry's decent but swampy version.
Boy George's version in número UNO!!! Too much of the belter this one.
Ilovenativemaricanwomen ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
It's called a Torch Song for a reason. THIS is how it's done. Period.
lovenativemaricanmen Listen to this version on a cold or snowy night after midnight.
I.promise ya it will sound good.
Brenda Lee's 1965 version was made a year after Dave Berry's (British) first version of this Geoff Stephen's song.
Ian & the Zodiacs also recorded the song. IMO, their version is okay, but nothing special. Their version is here on YouTube if you want to give it a listen.
Great song written by Britain's Dave Berry
@LostTroubadour factually wrong.
+LostTroubadour Sorry - it was composed by Geoff Stephens and first released by Dave Berry in 1964.
What Boy George and the Pet Shop Boys did to this little song is pure genius.
Pet shop boys? I knew of the Dave Berry version and obviously Boy George, but never heard this version. It is amazing this is one song where every version is a masterpiece.
Brenda Lee owns this song!
@Vera Evans
They did it for the movie of the same name and I think because of the nature of the movie Boy got it
Plus he didn't release it till after the movie aired
@LostTroubadour written and composed by Geoff Stephens
@jonah jones So ..... now I really do know everything there is to know about the crying game .....
This is a wonderful rendition of a great song by one of the all time greatest female performers. She has tons of emotion in this performance. Thanks Brenda!
Absolutely. She made this song so personal. It's just exquisite.
