I think the song you may be referring to is "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" by Fire Inc. it is from the "Streets Of Fire" soundtrack.

Martha Kent aka Superman's earth mother is in the movie streets of fire where her character got kidnapped by the green goblin

There's another song of Laura's from SELF-CONTROL which I have never been able to find despite several attempts on Google. I can't remember the title any more but it doesn't seem to be on any of the list of tracks from the album which I've ever seen. I wish I could remember it as it was one of my favourite pop-rock numbers during the 80s. All I remember is it starts with some awesome drums and has the line "lying in the rings of the sun" in it. I hope someone can help me find that song again.

after self control, she did a song on ghostbusters ost called hot night, then came body rock with this song. not appeared on another albumes (but compilations, maybe)

Never heard this one before, came out in 1984, same year as "Self Control"!
