My Grandfather loved music so much, and while he was living with us he called me to his room and played this song for me because he thought I would like it. I liked it then and I really love it now. Not long after he shared this song with me he passed away and tomorrow it will be 4 years, I miss him with all of my heart and think of him every time I hear this song <3

This song is a beautiful way to think of what after the dust settled I could never have put into words

Stumbled upon this song - late to the game in hearing this artist. Reminds me of the first time I heard Amy Winehouse and Rehab. Actually, when I heard that song I immediately knew that she was genius, incredible writer, incredible voice, and a song perfect to the bone. This song took me a time or two to hear and listen to the words, but again a lucidly and truth uncommon in songwriting. Every once in awhile, once in a blue moon maybe? you hear a song that captures you and powerful experiences you have encountered in life. Where does such a young person come up with so much soul? Add Kris Kristofferson to the mix, one of the great songwriters of all time. Talk about the IQ of a man or woman, then if there is one for writing then these three are/were beyond Einstein. One more thing, Brandi's voice is like heaven.

Shane Mulvihill Shane here hoping you are doing real good, my brother is such, for jury trial on Aug 5 and 6, he was all messed up on who knows what and he stabbed a young man in the back 4 times, he waited till he went into a bath room stall, the man he stabbed happened to be at the bar with his brothers they beat my brother bad, then hr stayed on the lamb for 7 years, well they caught him, I am his sister and I will always love him and be there for him., I hope you have people like that in your life, much love. GPapas I have had several shots at life, one in particular was my life saving liver transplant on 9-10-11. Because I tried to have babies in the early 80, Red Cross gave me 9 units of contaminated blood. Life goes on and people are good, oh my I lived to see a grand baby boy born.
You see I had another shot at life, because I could not get pregnant, my physician helped me find a birth mother, this was 31 years ago. Life is hard but the struggle is worth it.

I just discovered her recently on youtube, and I just can't get enough of hearing her voice.  I just love her voice!  It is unique, and yet also puts me a little in mind of Lacy J. Dalton of 70's country who also had a unique and great voice.

I concur. With one exception. She does get the recognition she deserves. Just because she's not on American idol or all over mags,says alot about her. She's exactly where she's suspose to be.And she's not the songwriter people think she is. She's a singer. And writes some.But some of her deeper songs are written by the twins.But this song is the very 1st song I heard from her in 2012. I'd never heard of her,I got lucky listening to Patty Griffin on Pandora and this song came on.And I had to get it from Google play.And it spoke to me.And my past +my ruined relationship between me and my brother.And from then on.I seemed to find the best song's from her collection.And when I heard the story,I was blown away.But I just found out,she didn't write either one.But it's ok. She's still #3 on my singer-songwriters&will remain there wheather she wrote it or not.I love that she admitted she was add and a high school drop out like me.And that she's human,nothing more, nothing less. She's made an impact on the right people&for different reasons.👍✌

Pamela Woodward just want to point out that the name of the band is Brandi Carlile, so yes Brandi Carlile did write those songs. It’s what they named the band way back when and it stuck and it was too late to change it because they were becoming known by that. She has regretted the band being named after her and will be the first to point that out and give the twins credit. Just one more reason to love Brandi.

Holy Hell. Don't feel bound to that which does not seek to bind you. Find your new normal. He was more at home in prison, behind those bars than he was made to feel out in the real world. Such a shame and senseless waste. It is the way life unfolds for those that stumble, fall, and then try to re-build. They would just as soon stay within the locked down confines of their self.
