Branch, Michelle - Something To Sleep To Lyrics
She's his yellow brick road
Leading him on
And letting him go as far
as she lets him go
Going down to nowhere
She puts on her make-up
The same way she did yesterday
Hoping everything's the same
But everything has changed
In my mind
Everything we did was right
Open your eyes, I'll still be by your side
How could I ever have been so blind?
You give me something to sleep to
He wakes up to the sound
So scared that she's leaving
He wishes she were still
asleep next to him
Hoping she will change
In my mind
Everything we did was right
Open your eyes, I'll still be by your side
How could I ever have been so blind?
You give me something to sleep to
at night
You give me something to sleep to
And all I know is
You give me something to dream to when I'm all alone and blue
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
Don't leave me now
In my mind
Everything we did was right
Open your eyes, I'll still be by your side
How could I ever have been so blind?
You give me something to sleep to
Something to sleep to
Something to sleep to at night

Who is still listening October 2019
tRumpet troll Killer me
I listened to this a lot in HS.
One day during down time in class I was listening to it and a girl I was friendly with but hadn't really talked to walked over and asked to listen to my headphones. I had the CD player in my hoodie pocket and, being too embarrassed to admit I listened to Michelle Branch, I thought fast and smoothly turned off CD playback and swapped to radio as I handed it to her.
She was smiling when she put them on, then looked at me blankly for a second before getting a distinct "are you an axe murderer?" look and giving everything back. As she walked away I put the headphones on, really confused about how she acted. Apparently when swapping to radio without looking it was left stuck between stations. So it was static. She thought I was standing around in the corner of the room listening to static.
I still listen to this and Paper Hotel though.
Anyone 2019

Always loved this song even though it sounds like Beatles and ELO material.
friendofGhosts Makes sense because she loves the Beatles growing up
I love this pop rock song! 💜💜
Michelle has got wonderful songs - this is another. Love the ecstatic melody and the harmonising of her voice with her strumming guitar. Fantastic stuff.
This songs helps me get through a break up ❤️
This song has such an emotionally sultry sound, still give me the feels all grown up in 2016. She sings her soul out too..

Michelle Branch is such an incredible artist back when we had an explosion of female talent coming out. She is still relevant and I listen to her almost everyday.
