@ohthesefeelingz - This isn't mathematically accurate. The video is 293 seconds long. 28 of those seconds, the entire band is in a group shot, so we can deduct it. This leaves 267 seconds of singing(not adjusting for the guitar solo).
There are 3 main bandmates and 3 other musicians. Let the other musicians count for half a musician, and that gives us 4.5 musicians to divide 267 by.
267÷4.5=59.33333

Lucy gets 62 seconds of solo camera time.

So let's try another way:
There is 133 seconds of intro and outro instrumental, so you could deduct the 133 seconds from the original 293 seconds which gives you 160 seconds. Divide that by 3 musicians(leaving the rest of the band off this time) and you get 53.333333....

This group as a whole is phenomenal. I loved that little smile Lucy gives when Julien belts out some vocals. I don't know who that is playing the drums, but great textures and laying back without stepping on anyone else (i'm a drummer). I can't get enough of this group, I hope they keep on keepin on.

The drummer is Marshall Vore. He's pretty awesome.

Wow, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who likes to play a great, soulful, melodic guitar solo. Maybe music isn't dead yet. Julien Baker's solo here is so sweet. What power. I recently had someone who drums for a spazzy punkish/metal band tell me how much he liked my "indie soft rock." While it was a complement, I just had to laugh/cry at that description. There is more raw emotional power in one of my songs than in all of theirs combined, mainly because of its authenticity. "Salt in the Wound" could say the same. What's hard and what's soft? Superficially hard rock exists all over the place, but when it's just a lot of posing and hyping and playing at being bad, you can come along with a song like this one and just demolish that black t-shirted, biceped, tattooed, bearded, posing anger-fest and keep right on sailing. Power isn't just about screaming or playing fast. Anyway, beautiful song.

THANKYOU. I get told a lot that I listen to "soft rock" which is true and not a bad thing, however at the same time there's really not that much soft about it. It's not's forced and over powered. Loud doesn't equal "harder rock".

Wow! Great performance by Lucy, Phoebe, and Julien. But the cameramen really weren’t with it. I think the drummer *accompanying* them got about the same amount of screen time as the actual band, and it took 20 full seconds at the beginning (a pretty substantial time) before they finally cut to Lucy. Then we kept getting long shots of the drummer and bass player through — instead of the trio. Nothing wrong with showing the back up musicians (heck, they performed well too) but this *is* a boygenius performance.

idk, the band should get screen time - theyre performing too! i've listened to boygenius for a while and i always wondered who does what, if i'd seen lucy and phoebe and then only julien with a guitar it would've begged a lot of questions. i think they all did a wonderful job and i want to watch them make the beautiful music as it happens.

Lucy DEFINITELY should've gotten more shots in this though.

I have to say I was already a fan of Julien and Phoebe, but I've just started listening to Lucy's solo stuff and it rocks. What a trio. They're like The Traveling Wilburys of their generation.

I also think of them as like Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Your comparison is great, too, since the Traveling Wilburys had great musicians, as well, although there were five in the group and there are only three in boygenius, so they're not quite the same.

Great sound and video quality, but the editing was annoying. Too many tight shots and it should be obvious that you go to (and stick with) Julien Baker when she starts her guitar solo, not the bass player then to the drummer.

I agree I was getting confused there,just keep the camera on the main artists.
