I don't know if it's just the download but this remastered version takes the vocal down. Whole thing is't as sharp. I have the cd but my stereo is freakin so I can't check.

A lot of people hate this 2016 remaster & think it sounds dull, muddy, & mid-rangey. I'm in that camp. I prefer the 1999 remaster, but the trade off with that one is it's EQ'd a little too bright. It's hard to crank it on a good system without your ears bleeding. I just listen to it at a lower volume. Unless you own the very expensive original RCA discs, Bowie's entire early catalog is a crap shoot. They're all over the map when it comes to sound quality & remastering.

@rubber chicken I agree. My entire early Bowie collection was purchased while I was in college. I graduated in '78. Nothing like that heavy old vinyl!
