Bowie, David - Red Money Lyrics

Oh, can you feel it in the way
That a man is not a man?
Can you see it in the sky
That the landscape is too high?

Like a nervous disease
And it's been there all along
It will tumble from the sky
It's been there all along

Project cancelled
Tumbling central
Red Money

[CHORUS]
Can you hear it fall
Can you hear it well
Can you hear it at all

I was really feeling good
Reet Petite and how d'ya do
Then I got the small red box
And I didn't know what to do
'Cause my fingers
could not grope
And I could not give it away
And I knew I must not drop it
Stop it, take it away

Project cancelled
Tumbling central
Red Money

[CHORUS]

Project cancelled
Tumbling central
Red Money

[CHORUS]

Can you hear it at all
Can you hear it at all

Red Money [four times]

Such responsibility
It's up to you and me

Just watched BBC China documentary & they played- it just reminded me to give this fab song another listen- haven't heard it in a while! 😜

i can't understand the cover of the album

    W.... P....

On the inside they show that Bowie was posing in a position similar to Latin revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara after his capture and death. I still don't know exactly what that means outside of the fact it's formatted like a postcard as Bowie was observing different ideas globally.

    It's such a cool cover tho!😆

"Lodger" is a remarkable album with some of the best lyrics Bowie ever put together. And it's one of the most musically diverse records he ever made, if not the most diverse. From the great kickoff of "Fantastic Voyage" through "Red Sails".

    @Thin White Duke

Agreed. One thing I always like to do is single out Dennis Davis' performance on drums. All that musical diversity you mentioned ... Davis is the driving force of it. For real!

    I really like it a lot <3

    not agree jody

What do you mean by great lyrics in "Red Sails"? I mean seriously, 'cos I love the album and actually workin' on this song and what I have found is that lyrics in "Red Sails" were , like most of these on Earthling, just some random words.
