Bowie, David - Reality Lyrics
Tragic youth was looking young and sexy
The tragic youth was wearing tattered black jeans
Bearing arms and flaunting all her mischief
The tragic youth was going down on me
Woo hoo
Yes I swear
I built a wall of sound to separate us
And hid among the junk of wretched highs
I sped from Planet X to Planet Alpha
Struggling for reality
Ha ha ha ha
Woo hoo
Whoo hoo
Hey, now my sight is failing in this twilight
Da da da da da da da da da
Now my death is more than just a sad song
Da da da da da da da da da
And I swear
Woo hoo
Yes I swear
Woo hoo
I still don't remember how this happened
I still don't get the wherefores and the whys
I look for sense but I get next to nothing
Hey boy welcome to reality
Ha ha ha ha
Woo hoo
I've been right and I've been wrong
Now I'm back where I started from
Never looked over reality's shoulder
Ha ha ha ha
Huh ha ha ha
Woo hoo
Huh ha ha
Wooh
Woo hoo
Wooh

David Bowie vive en Mexico City❤️
Bowie with one of his best works!
I know "Reality" isn't one of his best albums. But still love a lot of songs of the album. Specially this song. Miss you, Bowie.
Line up his albums and surely Reality's in his top half.
I think that it is a great album. Maybe not Bowie's best, but awesome, nevertheless. I love it loud on a warm day, I can enjoy the intricacies of it.
@Graham Eglinton I think it's better than his 1969 self titled album, Hunky Dory, Lodger, Let's Dance, Tonight, Never Let Me Down, certainly more fun than Heathen. Maybe it isn't necessarily in his top half but I love New Killer Star, the live version of The Loneliest Guy, the Rebel Never Get Old remix, She'll Drive The Big Car, and Bring Me The Disco King so those songs elevate it to me as being more important than perhaps the full list of songs makes it.
Channelling Jim Morrison from the other side.

Preach, Bowie.
i absolutely love this song
King David Rules
♡♡♡
Saw him and his band on tour for this album -- this track is still so infectious to me. What an amazing show that was ...
[Verse 1]
See the great white scar
Over Battery Park
Then a flare glides over
But I won't look at that scar
Oh, my nuclear baby (We'll discover a star)
Oh, my idiot trance
All my idiot questions (Like the stars in your eyes)
Let's face the music and dance
[Pre-Chorus]
Don't ever say I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready
I'll never say I'm better, I'm better, I'm better
Don't ever say I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready
I'll never said I'm better, I'm better, I'm better, I'm better than you
[Chorus]
All the corners of the buildings
Who but we remember these?
The sidewalks and trees
I'm thinking now
I got a better way
I discovered a star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
A new killer star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
The stars in your eyes
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
I discovered a star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
[Verse 2]
See my life in a comic
Like the way they did the Bible
With the bubbles and action
The little details in color
First a horseback bomber (We'll discover a star)
Just a small thin chance
Like seeing Jesus on Dateline (Like the stars in your eyes)
Let's face the music and dance
[Pre-Chorus]
Don't ever say I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready
I'll never said I'm better, I'm better, I'm better
Don't ever say I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready
I'll never said I'm better, I'm better, I'm better, I'm better than you
[Chorus]
All the corners of the buildings
Who but we remember these?
The sidewalks and trees
I'm thinking now
I got a better way
I discovered a star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
A new killer star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
The stars in your eyes
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
I discovered a star
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
I got a better way
Ready, set, go
I got a better way
Oooh oo
I got a better way
Ready, set, go

Obama fooled us as a broad who looks like a man into queer things
weird, while his plucked Barry sported a 10-inch, Afrophilic beard.
Its like fever by black keys haha
Bowie sounds so Bowie when he sings "the corners of the buildings."
Gracias x toda tu arte
In an earlier time, done by anybody else, this is a great rock track & alternate hit... At this point everyone took for granted the constancy of his genius; this track like most Bowie compositions, so full of twists & turns, never just C-F-G.... ♡☆♡☆
Best song from this album, except Try some - but this isn't Bowie song.
going through a real bad time in my life when this came out, every night id put it on drink myself silly and forget the world,my x stopped me seeing my kids because of my drinking, all I do was watch as they passed in the car, heartbreaking, then I realised what I was doing and sorted it,thankfully now everything is sorted, still hard to listen even tho a great albulm,it holds memories of my very dark place I was in
fatboy6846 in that sort of place now. Glad you woke up, brother.

Former living male person George Michael married a homosexual man and together they had 5 beautiful children. George
carried to full term 3 of the babies (Bobby & the twins) & George's husband (name withheld) carried Mya & Evelyn.
I'm crazy & dependent about floating 3 inches above the attic floor,
after spooky séance sessions, quasi-proper Easter feasts & fasts,
big A.B.C. T.V. bowling tournaments, demolition derbies starring Kim
Darby, pulling 10 teeth with locking pliers, talking to liars & taking
apart hair dryers. I call 2 cops on burglars, while grilling burgers on
roof tops. The last time that I was attacked by you was at some zoo.
You bruised my vicious passivity with your common depravity. I can't bear the brunt of reality
dealt from a coffin. Put down your hoe – this is the job for a government-accredited farmer!
love this album.
Definitely a contender for best album with incredibly awful cover art
Keith Reality is ugly
Wow the Lana del Rey song .. the blackest day.. towards the end sounds like this.. why is no one talking about this haha
Who is Land del Rey ?
I see my life in the comic. Like the way they did the Bible.
Sounds like Coffee and TV by Blur. xd
POWERFUL, PURE , POSITIVE, PROTONIC.
I am probably alone on this one but I think this song is one of the best tracks he has ever written !
But the album cover is one of the worst, lol
It's my second favorite Bowie song, second only to Modern Love.
Just a dumb question but it just occurred to me: is New Killer Star supposed to be a sort of off-pronunciation of Nuclear Star (whenever it's pronounced like Nu-cul-ar)?
It could be. I was thinking about it, too. One thing to keep in mind though, David was way too smart to do anything without Artistic intention.....

I need to hear this one every 3 months or so.
I love all his songs
Bowie's different because his music doesn't muddy the water. It doesn't rock the boat. He doesn't burn up all the oxygen forcing you to have some cathartic experience. Unlike other musical gods his music is always acknowledging and respectful of silence and nothing. It's like he's respectful of the fact you're giving up peace and quite to listen to him with every sound.
the motor city cobra great description
New Killer Star sounds and I think is supposed to mean Nuclear Star.
wordplay is highly likely... great observation :)
@Just Jeanne Plus all stars. Are in effect. Giant Nuclear reactors. So David. Was Astronomically correct. 😮
first time i heard the intro i thought it's some QOTSA song
There's something a little gloomy about this song. it also has a very catchy tune.
Mélissa MidotachMel awesome, thanks..
I`d like to think if there`s a Heaven, it sounds beautiful.
Shame that this song is not on either of the Best Of compilations. This song made me buy my first Bowie song.
exactly, one of my all-time favs as well, but I think it's got something to do with it being my first Bowie song ever back in 2004 - I was 9 and it blew my mind
Used to play this for the circus mice in the old tin can.
He had a habit of making songs with the word STAR in the title, right till the end!
Is there more to the meaning of a star? He's obviously gone to some big star stuff now. Maybe creating even bigger star stuff that he did here on our humble earth.
its a great motif, makes for great album covers lol
the man who was too curious to be afraid
+Douglas Frazier
The man who was too talented to be unsuccesful.
Everyone's afraid. Bowie's last album is filled with fear at his impending death (and forced acceptance). What makes Bowie special (I think) is that he didn't succumb to fear. He converted fear's inertia into beautiful, dynamic poetry.
The man who sold the world.
r.i.p David Bowie; your legacy will live on!
Cada album suyo es para escuchar varias veces, detenidamente. Ninguno es malo o aburrido :)
Fucking bastard is always light years ahead of any so called "artists".. Just when you thought everything had been done, this SOB comes out with another genius product, and this one was no exception.
I'm glad to share a birthday with this man, and he's also one of the reasons I became a musician..
+Rhythmista i wish my B-Day was on the same day as bowie, myself. it would have been great if he had lived to make to my next B-Day, in 2016, but september was a long ways away from the 10th of january, oh well. i'll miss him. R.I.P
I've never stopped listening to this album. Even after long periods of times. Sometimes you get Bowie lonely and just need some quality.
+Mike Yuill Bowie lonely, nice.
+Mike Yuill "Bowie lonely" is so perfect. Thanks for that.
+Mike Yuill
We could always rely on Mr Bowie to produce music of quality, even if it wasn't to our particular taste... he always produced quality.
There's lonely, and then, there's Bowie lonely.
