Bowie, David - Let's Spend The Night Together Lyrics

Well, don't you worry 'bout what's been on my mind
I'm in no hurry
I can take my time
I'm going red
and my tongue's getting tired
Out of my head and my mouth's getting dry
I'm h-h-h-high

[CHORUS]
Let's spend the night together
Now I need you more than ever
Let's spend the night together now

I feel so strong
that I can't disguise, oh my
Well, I just can't apologise, no
Don't hang me up but don't let me down
We could have fun just by fooling around, and around
and around

[CHORUS]

Oh, You know I'm smiling baby
You need some guiding baby
I'm just deciding baby

[CHORUS]

This doesn't happen to me every day
No excuses I've got anyway, heh
I'll satisfy your every need
And I'll know you'll satisfy me, oh my-my-my my-my

Let's spend the night together
Now I need you more than ever [x3]

Let's spend the night together
They said we were too young
Our kind of love
was no fun
But our love
comes from above
Do it!
Let's make love
Hoo!

[CHORUS]

Bowie, David Let's Spend The Night Together Comments
  1. D.... ....

After listening to this, still a STONES classic.

  2. c.... g....

the difference is when the stones did this we could infer it's about a woman, but when Bowie "re configures" it all doors are open!!

  3. M.... ....

I was 11 when I first heard this, probably didn't hear the original till 3 or 4 yrs later. This version fucking rips.

  4. S.... J....

    The Best!!

  5. S.... m....

Has anyone noticed the odd noise that sounds like a frog or a cricket at the 3.00 minute mark in the left channel? Just wondering if my hearing is shot or what.

  6. J.... ....

Terrible version, too fast does not rock. Bowie never could do rock, clever but no swing.

  7. J.... S....

Bowie knew how to keep attention for life

  8. P.... A....

The original is better. Sorry, David..

  9. R.... A....

I’ll spend all my life with you, Bowie

  10. j.... t....

    Awesome cover

  11. M.... O....

TJ Bolder on bass is a BOSS.

  12. A.... D....

Never heard the stones version. Don't like the stones

  13. M.... ....

Bowie's next album was all covers - "Pin Ups", check it out.

  14. M.... ....

man, we used to dance to this

  15. B.... P....

    The best version🤷🏻‍♂️

  16. V.... D....

Saw Bowie 2 nights in a row at the old Michigan Palace in Detroit in 1974. It was during the Fame tour, he never played Panic in Detroit. Love him, but never did forgive him for that.

    V.... D....

I hear you. But concentrate on the important part of your comment, you saw Bowie 2 nights in a row!

  17. K.... B....

“They said we were too young, our kind of love was no fun, but our love comes from above. Let’s make love... WHOA!”

  18. M.... 7....

This a damn good cover, but the stones build up this tension that no one reaches

  19. J.... P....

    2:46 Palpatine

  20. a.... ....

Anyone know what the gadget is at the beginning and again half way through (1.48). Ken Scott produced this at Trident and used the same gadget on Tommy Bolin's guitar on Billy Cobhams Spectrum album. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unxshBHfVsY) What is that???

  21. I.... ....

I’m a big Bowie fan, but the people who are saying this is better than the stones version are crazy 🤣 this is actually awful.

    I.... ....

    It's actually brilliant.

  22. D.... D....

Bowie's cover makes The Rolling Stones' original sound like "aye lets spend the night together, but back for in for about 9, and straight to bed" Whilst Bowie's "lets get oot there and not comeback till sometime in the afternoon"

  23. P.... M....

I love Bowie, but this version doesnt really do it for me... Its rockin', well-played and well-produced, but it seems a little uninspired

  24. F.... F....

    Get down! DO IT!
    LETS MAKE LOVE!

  25. j.... z....

  26. s.... ....

........... from one lover to another

  27. S.... B....

A Beatle fan says that is as good as the stone's version

  28. v.... g....

I like the Stones cuz it was kinda like in a nerd shy boy POV. Bowie version is way faster and insane and shit. I like the way faster and insane shit better!

  29. M.... C....

Bowie and Mick were friends if Mick thought it sucked ,we would have heard about it.

  30. E.... Z....

I like both versions, but I like the Stones' version more because of the instrumentals by Keith Richards and Charlie Watts and Brian Jones.

  31. A.... R....

Prefiero la version de los rolling stones

  32. r.... e....

I usally dont say this about covers but this is better than the original

    r.... e....

THE STARMAN will always outshine simple earthlings !!

  33. F.... M....

    Who is it on keyboard?

    F.... M....

Mike Garson. He played with Bowie on the Ziggy Stardust tour in '72. The dissonance in his arrangement is pretty stunning. Don't know if I've heard anything as creative as this piano piece in any other rock song. This version kicks ass.

  34. p.... k....

    How I miss David Bowie

  35. P.... B....

this does blow the stones away, its harder ,faster, more brutal .Seen him only once Newcastle77 or 78 playing keyboard for Iggy. The guy shaped my youth.

  36. U.... ....

Bowie knew how to grab your attention at a song's beginning.

  37. A.... M....

I know the stones did this , I love this version. makes me wanna dance 👣

    A.... M....

mmm right on bowie makesu dance good song

    A.... M....

makes me wanna take up piano,... and or the drums.

  38. m.... ....

Oooh, that none-more-camp "Let's make loooooove" bit can miss me, but the rest of this song gets the punky workout it deserved. I prefer it done this way to the original.

  39. s.... ....

Def divides the critics. Personally love it. Especially the bat shit crazy breakdown. They said we were too young :) etc. Can see why stones purists would hate it. Mick Ronson's shredding too... what is there to say? A-May-Zing!!!!

    s.... ....

Agree....such an inventive part of the song which is very different from the original one.... Ronson and Garson are so good on Aladdin Sane.

    s.... ....

    wpollock1 aaao

    s.... ....

    strictlynorton ys

  40. S.... K....

He wrote it, along with Keith Richard

  41. T.... ....

芝居か、B級SF映画の挿入歌のようです。友達に劇団がやってそうです。演奏はさすがに上手です。i do not want to spent night together.

  42. J.... M....

I love the Stones, I even saw them play this song live some time ago, but I do like this better than the original.

  43. R.... J....

Disappointing version this. Stone's much greater, original and the best.

  44. F.... ....

First 10 seconds sound like the music to a Mario Kart track

  45. s.... c....

Always loved this song, life wont be the same anymore,RIP david bowie, legends live on.

  46. N.... B....

    RIP David Bowie

    N.... B....

    Noel Bullard cool

  47. K.... E....

Better than the Stones' version for me.

    K.... E....

    Totally!

    K.... E....

much more better, rolling stones sounds a bit naive when compared to this

    K.... E....

    John Wyres-Smith better david

    K.... E....

    Kal- El True that

    K.... E....

the stones version is mory shy and classic, but bowie have a really taste and smell of ROCK AND ROLL

  48. .... ....

    Rock'nRollのカッコよさを1曲で表せといったらこの曲にします。

  49. M.... ....

RIP Mr. Bowie. You were a class act. You were an original. This treatment of this song is better than the original.

  50. R.... C....

    better than original! i'm right!

    R.... C....

Rino Cetara why do you huys HATE on bowie? He did an interesting, unique cover that supposed to be different. I personally dont like the rolling stones version but thst doesnt mean im going to act like cancer in the comment section.

  51. R.... C....

"his way" to sing this song. amazing!!!!

  52. j.... ....

Prefer Bowies' and Garcia's versions over the Stones.

  53. e.... ....

Far different from the Stones...............but I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  54. R.... W....

a totally insane lad, love it

  55. M.... ....

    Great version!

  56. U.... ....

Actually I like both versions. Stones version has that retro childish feel that is awsome, David Bowie version has a frenetic futuristic vibe that is awsome too.

    U.... ....

    Perfect description of both versions

  57. J.... S....

Only Bowie fanboys thinks it's better than the original lol

    J.... S....

This is just funny. Neither Bowie nor Jagger were great technical singers, what made them great was their energy, unique voices and personality. Fantastic technical singers who can sing every note are rarely great musicians anyway. Lou Reed couldn't sing for shit, but I'll take his off-key masterpieces over 90% of perfect artificial pop vocal masturbations any day.

    J.... S....

John Smith Didn’t Jagger himself say he preferred this version? Haha

    J.... S....

gfwi87 really? Arguing with people stating an 'OPINION' about two great vocalists. I agree on the bowie side (obviously, but I still like both versions) but mick jagger has the rasp to his voice, but it's always like that, and stones songs are quite slow and up beat which don't quite match together in my book. Just agree with people a little bit more is what I'm saying and be polite in your carefully picked out criticisms

    J.... S....

Mattchester I agree with most of what you said, but I have to disagree with Bowie not being a technically great singer.

    J.... S....

It's not better or worse than the original. Just different... and with lipstick on it.😂
Coolest version btw. is on Still Life - album🎶

  58. .... ....

    何度聞いても素敵な曲です。大好きです!

  59. .... ....

    もう最高!!!

  60. S.... S....

May I say this is better than the original? :D

    S.... S....

@Sara Scrivener I like how the piano intro on this version is atonal. sounds cool

    S.... S....

+Sara Scrivener No, you can't; because it's worse.

    S.... S....

    +pit2ryan3
It's not worse it's just different.
If you're going to do a cover then do something other than just slavishly copy the original.
Bowie put his own slant on it and it does work.
I like it as much as the original because it's different!

    S.... S....

You can, but then i can say that I disagree. But it's a good cover. Bowie made something different out of, which i always appreciat of a cover.

  61. A.... R....

"Don't hang me up . . ." Grateful Dead and a crucifying.  "Don't let me down . . . " George Harrison letting 'IT' down from the cross.

  62. j.... h....

cool cover, but Stones version is way better

  63. Q.... ....

Wicked atonal piano intro by Mike Garson.

  64. p.... p....

the most sexy song ever, far better than the Stones original one!!

    p.... p....

i heard this version first and when i heard the stones' version i thought THEY totally pre-fucked up BOWIE'S song!  hahaha!  bowie owned this

    p.... p....

    pshhhhhhhhhhhhhh nah dude

  65. d.... l....

cool!!!!!! love it! love it! love it!

  66. A.... K....

    even better than original thing

  67. J.... K....

    Totalfuckinly awesome...

  68. b.... b....

what the fuuuuuuuuuuck he ruined this song. >___>

  69. S.... L....

raging to this so hard right now

  70. S.... L....

    hahahahahhahahahhhahahha best comment

  71. b.... l....

    Amazing cover..

  72. s.... ....

    The false finale is genious

  73. J.... S....

    ronson fucking shit hot

  74. m.... ....

    F-U-C-K this is cool!!! :-D :-D :-D

  75. E.... M....

Rolling Stones version! a Thousand times!

  76. A.... H....

    the law is

  77. s.... ....

    yes I know..

  78. B.... B....

Judging from David's past, I'd say there's enough of him for all of us.

  79. A.... M....

    Me too

  80. b.... ....

..the span of bowie is widest on Alladin Sane.. and they yank, love and bend this tune over..what a band..

  81. S.... ....

He isn't with Angie now '-'
    He's with Iman

  82. s.... ....

When Angie found out about him and Jagger she offered them coffee

    s.... ....

I mean what else can you do at that point? she knew what she was getting into.

  83. j.... ....

David Bowie's works are a must at a Music Appreciation course; not for motives of history; but for motives of future... It would be interesting to read the insights from an excellently-versed critic regarding Bowie's recordings.

  84. A.... E....

and his wife would kick your ass, no offense

  85. j.... ....

Yea well....I want to dig up Mick Ronson & Scissor Bang. IS THAT SO WRONG???

  86. j.... ....

then you're not a straight guy.

  87. m.... ....

    u r 2k bug!

  88. k.... m....

David Bowie - the only man that can cover a super kick ass band and make it better.

  89. N.... ....

@AngeloCazaro143 Its not weird, Im 18 and since I started to listen to his music (abt 2-3 yrs ago) Ive wanted the same.. xD

  90. A.... i....

@AngeloCazaro143 Oh, you're not alone. I want his love too. Besides him, I'm after Paul McCartney and Roger Daltrey and Keith Moon. Now with Keith Moon it'd be weird, because he's just, well, ashes disolved in the earth. =/

  91. i.... ....

@AngeloCazaro143 nah, im pretty sure theres a lot of girls your age who would love to make love with this beautiful man. Annnddd im one of them.

  92. R.... D....

@AngeloCazaro143 Not at all. I'm 16 and I've been wanting it since I was 14 xD

  93. R.... K....

@wantsomecake328 You, sir, are a God.

  94. M.... L....

    Happy Birthday David!

  95. f.... ....

This is my favorite Rolling stones song (not saying it's the best, I know it's not but it's my personal favorite) This is awesome too Gotta love David Bowie .

  97. R.... C....

@AngeloCazaro143 I know what you mean, bro.
