Bowie, David - Karma Man Lyrics
Fingertip sun at sideshow stalls
They throw the balls
At coconut fur that hides behind
Coloured shades that blind your eyes
Every child's mother holds an ice-cream cone
Perceived unknown by an eye that peers
From a hole in the tent where no one goes
A figure sitting cross-legged on the floor
He's clogged and clothed in saffron robes
His beads are all he owns
Slow down
Slow down
Someone must have said "let's slow him down"
Slow down
It's pictured on the arms of the karma man
Fairy tale skin
Depicting scenes from human zoos
Impermanent toys like peace and war
A gentle face you've seen before
Karma man tattooed on your side
The wheel of life
I see my times and who I've been
I only live now and I don't know why
I struggle hard to take these pictures in
But,
All my friends can see is just the pinkness of his skin
Slow down
Slow down
Someone must have said "let's slow him down"
Slow down
Slow down
It's pictured on the arms of the karma man
Slow down
Slow down
Someone must have said "let's slow him down"
Slow down
Slow down
It's pictured on the arms of the karma man

i wish time had slowed down in 2016 beautiful song Mr. Jones
Beautiful song! Thank you for this
te extraño bowie...eres mi héroe..😍💞💖🎸
O miss you dear Bowie
Great early song by the legend... Nearly all the songs recorded on the Deram label are hidden gems, especially this one... check out 'In The Heat of The Morning'....
I found about this period of his career through Nothing Has Changed, which has Silly Boy Blue and Heat of the Morning. I then bought Deram Anthology. Great material!! I read that Bowie hated this album. I can't see why
+San Musto The biggest song of that 1967 period is the profoundly large, 'When I Live MyDream'... it's the song Lindsey Kemp heard on the radio which brought him to Bowie...
The Deram debut album was released same day as 'Srgt. Pepper'; Bowie signed to that label same day as Cat Stevens!
He didn't hate it as much in latter years, as he was secretly re-record ingredients many of them at the time of Heathen... It's an album potentially released as 'Toy'... it's all on YouTube
@RJ Nuzzi I first heard this in '67, this was his Anthony Newley inspired period, it must have been a very fun but trying time for him back then not realising he was giving birth to his genius.
@angelliss666 Luv all of Bowie's more "theatrical" recordings, particularly these from the Deram label; 'When I Live My Dream' the greatest... If you haven't heard his 1980 'Baal' recordings , these are his most standard 'Broadway' vocals... Check them out! Bowie was uniquely the best
@RJ Nuzzi -Bowie had a lot of gems before Space Oddity-Karma Man,In The Heat Of The Morning,Silly Boy Blue,Can't Stop Thinking About Me,When I Live My Dream,Let Me Sleep beside You, You've Got A Habit Of Leaving Me, Do Anything You Say, I Want My Baby Back ...
