Born Of Osiris - Behold Lyrics
I can't stand
The bitter denial
Neglected consciousness
Forgotten rights
The book has been written
What is your confusion
Know your own condition
Lay down and think about how you've lived out
Your wasted time here is over and gone
They left us and we can start now our evolution
Expired,
Empty,
Expired,
Extinction
The refugees have deserted the city
Of how we can conquer and watch them crumble
It's far too late to question
They knew this would happen the book has been written
Set in stone now they've seen it now they know
Is this a miracle or imagination
your invention or destruction
We are here alone
At last we are finding answers
Reveal the meaning of what we really are.

Born Of Osiris Behold Comments
The triple kix & china syncopation towards the end are fucking otherworldly. 4:20 is a WRAP, boys. Always liked BoO for these insane beats. Good shit, Cameron.
Strange that my peak in life came at the same time as BOO's. I'll always have a special place for this absolute banger.
1:51 "WALK WITH ME IN HE..." wait wrong song
You know this reminds me of animals as leaders.
Those drums keeping it together so hard.
Born of osiris is dream theater on cocaine
Gotta be said, Jason is a level beyond.
You can tell both vocalist were trying to keep up on this masterpiece Jason Richardson wrote.
That outro solo is so sick!
so goddamn groovy bro
Anyone got tabs for this lmao
My God the vocalist ruined this.
@ESPSJ Because his entry was terrible, bad flow and overall bad sound. The band sounds like they all have a ton of experience, while the vocalist sounds like they picked up a random dude off the street who happens to be able to do a little vocals.
@Lyle Postle fair enough. I like his vocals personally I just don't know if they sit in the mix as well as they should
@ESPSJ It could have been the mixing. makes sense.
holy fuxk
What is the guitar at the end there
Care to elaborate ?
don't know how they will ever beat the end to this album
You didn't need the screaming.
shut the fuck up dont come to born of osiris if youre gonna bitch about ronnie and joe's vocals
Remember when for a moment BOO was the best shit in the tech metal scene? Ahhhh the great composition and synths that dont sound like cheesy PS2 games. The good ole days
The whole deathcore scene popped out for a second then went back underground.
@mr Gobot They arent really deathcore dude
EITA PORRA!! Que instrumental é esse? Pqp! Foda demais
This whole song is something to behold
That solo is the purest cocaine
Don't you mean it's the dankest bud in the world?
Like it's up there with Willie Nelson's bud.
One day, I will be able to play like this
fucking great
2017 and this album still remains one of my all time favorites, I could honestly consider this a Jason Richardson (feat Born of Osiris) album by how much it stands out from the other BOO albums.
I came here after reference to a guitarist saying he was able to play this song after changing how he physically played and was told how incredibly difficult this song is to play, and maybe its my age (56), but IMHO (and I mean that and say that in hopes of discouraging instantaneous flaming of my character, musical and technical knowledge and exp, etc., its simply MY opinion, I'm not making any statements about the ability or the quality, I'm nobody special nor think that I am, I'm just saying what I'm saying based on literally a lifetime of experience and exposure to, playing & recording of, and love of hard rock, funk and blues, whew!) the cliche, over emphasized mad double bass/kick playing really pollutes and detracts from this track.
Too my ear at least, it literally sounds like the drummer is competing for attention, so much so that it almost sounds as if hes playing to a completely different song. There is no 'feel' to this trac, no flow, its as if theres no syncopation between the drummer and the song, or like he's more concerned with standing out than what he should be doing, and that is checking his ego at the studio door and being professional and doing his best to bring his skills to the table and play WITH the band, a part of a whole, not the largest most noticeable piece. From the comments I saw below, it sounds like their might actually be some truth to this perception?
Please understand I'm simply commenting on my perception/experience with this, I do NOT know a thing about any member of this band, other than that the guitar work is indeed Einstein level difficult, and what you may read as me bashing on the drummer, I'm in fact only using the inflammatory comments as a way of expressing/explaining what I heard, I'm NOT saying the drummer IS trying to steal attention etc., my words are only that is what it SOUNDS like.
The guy could be as kind as Mother Theresa for all I know!
i think it all fits perfectly. you have to really immerse in this genre to understand. the double bass is very, very pocketed.
i just jizzed
The greatest metal song.
anyone pls tell, does the instrumental version of this song even exist
This whole album though. Fuuuuuuuuck 😁
Such a passionate concept album
Jason was really good at solo and probably better than lee but lee do it in a special... i think the two are some really good guitarist
jason was actually an incredible guitarist . tho lee is good hes nowhere close to being as good as jason
Jason is SSSSOOOOOO much better than Lee there’s no comparison. Only people that aren’t guitar players would say that.
GOD TIER
Cc. Cc cc c cc cf cc f c cc
I am on my 5th listen tonight, richardson didnt make this band and I dislike that position, but him on this song?
This is a beauty in music that composers have saught for centuries...
As a peice of music? There is no question about this track, paired with the prior track and the guitar solo? It rivals the best music that has ever been made. Promise.
@Lee Deane Calm down, buddy. It's a lot of scale technical noodling, but it's too surgical in a lot of ways. The best music will always be the stuff that's felt out, not wanked out.
5:00 onwards, best part.
M.A.S.T.E.R.P.I.E.C.E
what does that stand for?
wingos wingo ikr, I’m wondering what that acronym stands for myself...”masterpiece at strenuous tempo ending rather preciously into elevated cyclic ecstasy!”
My quick version of what I would think it to be as an acronym for this song. Just from the top of my head. Lol!
Holy shit. Screaming I can actually understand
Look to Death for more of that. Chuck's scream/growl/whatever the fuck it is can clearly be heard in just about any song, especially on The Sound of Perseverance.
idk why it sounds so much like the faceless to me. like it came straight off planetary duality
+Marksman 5147 I wouldnt personally consider this to be particularly progressive, but that is just my opinion...
@hyppyrotta71 its djent... Literally djent is a subgenre of prog
And your "opinion" or not, its prog, genres are fact, and this is blatant prog.
@Marksman 5147
Well, yeah... I just feel like usually the palette is way more diverse in prog bands. In bands like Opeth, BTBAM and Amoral, the song usually goes trough many different parts and sounds and they utilize unusual sound structures. Only thing this song has to offer is this djent sounds and that insane guitar solo and very basic song structure. But this is only my opinion, I dont want make an comment war about this.
+hyppyrotta71 all in all this song is technical as fuck and metal is the shit unless its attila
+hyppyrotta71 Yeap!!
4:45 kinda sounds like megalon by delusions of grandeur
When this song is not a proof how genius Cameron is, then i don't know...
+LimpBizkitDrummer Jason wrote this entire song..
One of the only good deathcore bands imo
they re very djent influenced i d call them djent tbh
I call it progressive djent deathmetal
Do not _ever_ refer to these guys as "deathcore" again...
@Daniel Cannata Umm... They are though...
hey i am bored
insane good!!
2:44 fucking bow down
Tee Bone Lol that little tom fill reminded you of the intro lol
Follow the signs anyone?
THIS IS SICK >:D
They do the guitar effect at 4:45 by using a technique called string skipping, allowing Jason to hit various tones withing the arpeggios of the chords the bands is playing underneath his kickass melodies. Also I find the part at 4:15 to be pretty badass too, feels like your falling into a nightmare.
around the end when its playing that sound box or whatever kinda sounds like the end of a horror movie.
@Jack Badger it's called Glockspiel... sort of Xylophone
@Justin Naujoks this song and xiv are all composed by jason. guitar, drums, keyboard, bass were all recorded/programmed by him
And people say this band isnt technical (not that I personally give a fuck about whether its technical or not this song kicks ass) EVEN SAYING THIS BAND ISNT METAL FFS. This is a metal song... Like NOONE is going to convince me otherwise.
But this song seriously gives me the same vibes as Necrophagist But unlike Necro more in the vein of Obscura I actually find myself emotionally tugged and enjoying this like crazy...
10/10
hehehe, one thing is for sure.. in 16 jears of guitar playing, i see that jason can play every technic of all the guitarheros i knew so far. nobody give a crap about the rest i think..
At 5.00 you think that you becoming a god or something.... Maybe the best BOO song along with devastate and regenerate....... And Shaping the masterpiece OFC.
How they do the guitar effect at 4:46?
+Nathan A. there is no affects lol just crazy string skipping lol i covered it on my channel if you wanna see
Everyone is talking about Jason, but give Lee some appreciation, Lee is a spectacular guitarist.
lee is amazing, he's just in an awkward position now that jason was fired. other than that, he's an excellent guitarist but Jason will always top lee. Jason by far is the best guitarist I have ever listened to.
@182guns
That's a fair point, they really need to find another guitarist, especially now that they're apparently recording again.
I would like something on the level of The Discovery.
@Nick Edwards travis Montgomery could. possibly. maybe.
+Levi Ackerman jason is the best guitarist you have ever listened to huh? I mean he's good but that statement is crazy
2 years later, that statement is probably true. its either jason or tosin
forever loving born of osiris
666 Comments and i screwed it with 667 :3
i've used the latest album as a way to live a better life. you don't know the shit i've done.... so it helped me stay + but so i;ve come back to this.... can't say it's better. seems like they've become way way more better..... i know these chords on keys too well... they are very simple and evil.
the solo in this one is far better than Follow The Signs
@TerryMusic man were are your covers man???
@Ronit Ravi I deleted them all lol
@TerryMusic you gotta re-upload it man, It was fire
this one is technically better by miles
@BradCynical Best song on the album by far
3:30-3:36 has helped me cum so many times...
The backing track could use a better chord progression, but it has some cool soloing.
best song on the record hands down
they will never play this song live!!
Not without Jason they won’t for sure....Lee can’t come close to Jason’s skills
Granted this was 4 years ago, Jason did fulfill your wish - he did XIV/Behold live at NAMM - search it up, amazing. I came here from that video...like shit I need to hear the version on record.
FUCK THIS BAND, They’re NOTHING without Jason!
Jason played this at Namm
The drums are as tough as the lead guitar in this song.
The ending section of this song brings a little baby laying in a crib all alone outside watching galaxies collide and the planet earth is collapsing slowly into a black hole.... and the only thing left at the very end is this poor little baby listening to the End of the universe lullaby.
i still fail to understand why this song is so undermined it may be the most most technical song on the album and offers much more than Follow the Signs or Recreate.
Jason fucking Richardson
Who is Richardson and why is Jason fucking him?
@*****
This song is a fucking masterpiece.
What the fuck were BoO thinkig when they kicked out Jason?
Chelsea grin doesnt do him justice.
@GetScaredGaming i don't know, but for sure since then i've started listening to chelsea grin XD
@Roman Crown
imo chelsea grins new album isnt very good. Their old stuff is much better.
Its weird because the Evolve EP was pretty freaking good, dont as dont tell is my fav song by them
i guess we've got different tastes haha. their old stuff is very good, but i prefer Evolve Ep's sound (probably because it reminds of BOO)
XD
+GetScaredGaming This. Exactly this. This album is my favorite from BOO by far and they hardly play anything off of it live. I'm convinced that Lee just flat out can't play the stuff Jason did. That's the problem with these genius musicians; they're so creative and technically talented that it's almost like they can't possibly co-exist with one another. Look at Michael Keene; bastard can shred a guitar's face off but he pisses off everyone he comes in contact with because he's compulsive and arrogant. And I'd listen to more Chelsea Grin but their vocalist sucks ass, IMO. I'll echo your sentiment on Chelsea Grin wasting his talent. I've said before that they waste his talent much the same way Abigail Williams wasted Alan Cassidy's talent. On another note, Cam's drumming on this album was just flat out amazing.
+GarBlaineNavy He can't. I've seen them live and he can't play the solos. Still an awesome show though.
Mind blown at 4:45. WTF?!!
that's the beauty of BoO!
@TerryMusic Wow! Share more videos man
OMG this is so great!!! Endless source of inspiration for my violin!!!!
RIP Born of Osiris...
0:37 It's just too beautiful
DAMN THAT IS CATHY
+datRacoon who the FUCK is Cathy
*catchy bruh, isnt it?
It sounds like someone threw a Nintendo 64 into HELL!
Sinister Sister you mean it sounds like a PS10 thrown into Hell....it’s ok now your comment sounds a lot better 😁 yw
i dont really care for the noodling. its precise.
If somebody is listening to and looking at the lyrics and doesn't even know that this is talking about our Earth and our people. Then I don't even know what to say.
haha well done mate
really? i know but still.. it's pretty broad in terms.. it could mean any number of things... lol but i get you.. it's still pretty easy to tell what the lyrics are about.
this whole track is just one massive solo \m/
mmmmmm Metal.
Ok I'm settling the genre debate once and for all: it's experimental progressive technical death djent alternative metalcore jazz polka. If anyone thinks otherwise, you're fucking wrong. This is the REAL classification.
you do if you took time out of your day to comment
HOLY SHIT WHO THE HELL CARES
I thought it was country western
isn't this jazz?
Screamo is a genre that was only around really during the early 90s and the rise of the hardcore scene. It's influenced directly from punk. You can google it all day and you will always find it.
ok asking alexandria and that shit
I'm not? It's called getting the genre right. Those bands suck, but they're not "screamo."
why are you sticking up for scene kids
Whatever. Think what you want to think.
no bands like sleeping with sirens, bvb and shit like that is screamo emocore
Fuck Djent!!
Screamo=not a real genre. PTV is post-hardcore and BVB is hard rock. Both bands suck too. This band is progressive deathcore. I was obviously joking up there.
screamo = pierce the veil and black veil brides
Holy shit!!!
I like that a lot.
We have found a beautiful bird and somehow bickering about its classification.
"You can know the name of a bird in all the languages of the world, but when you're finished, you'll know absolutely nothing whatever about the bird... So let's look at the bird and see what it's doing -- that's what counts. I learned very early the difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something."
-Richard Feynman
This whole song is a shred fest. It really shows Jasons talent.
THANK YOU!
Oh my gosh you guys are too much.
Djent is a sub-genre of heavy metal. It uses low-gain, distorted palm-muted guitars.
Not in its original meaning, yes..it is a power chord. But this argument pertains to genres...not tuning.
buddy Djent isnt a genre its a tuning
3:40 the master...
Hilarious.
Please..listen to some Meshuggah to gain an understanding of what Djent is
yes it is
Well when I say Djent, I am merely saying it's a new style of Progressive Metal. Djent to me is more of a style rather than a genre
FUCK ALL OF YOU THIS IS AMAZING <3
Djent? bahahaha XD That's funny
This is my new project on the keyboard. I've learned Follow The Signs, Recreate, and Machine already. This is next.
