Fuuuuuu I've searched for the songname and the band for more than a decade.
I had only this one song on a compilation CD from a former bandmember who I've lost all contact to, and no info to this great masterpiece...
Borknagar ...huh; deffinitely heard of them by name, but never heard the music itself because I thought it was just another trve norsk cvlt black metal band

Probably my favorite Borknagar album.

when i was 18, i'd drive around listening to this album.  i did that again nearly 12 years later.  probably will ten +/- years from now.  always will be a great album.

@hellfencer gods are not what comes with enslavement, economical power is what comes with enslavement, gods are just the means powerful people use to get there. If it were not the gods, then they would come up with something else.

But I believe the primitive idea of gods didn't come up for this reason so, even if I don't believe them, I still think they work for great lyrical themes, if used in the right way.

@hellfencer , this is just a song with lyrics about gods. It's just lyrics, like a movie is just a movie and a book is just a book. Romantic ideals are just that: ideals, but that doesn't mean you can't get into them for the purpose of bringing more interest and richness to your life, like this song does for example. Imagination is as important as real life. Besides, you have the word "Hell" in your nickname.

the end of this song should be a 12 minute song in its own. that old-world sounding melody is hypnotizing.

The Gods Are Great - Borknagar Are the Greatest!!!!

I bought this album a long time ago, not knowing what to expect... I gave it a few listens, then more or less discarded it because I was put of by some of the elements in the music. Now, 5 years later, I found it again in a dark corner of a closet, dusted it off (literally) and find myself in posession of a masterpiece I will be playing to destruction :)
