Boone, Danny - All They Wanna Hear Lyrics

Play that, that, that trailer park song, man about the car, man

I've written songs about love
Songs about war
Beat up cars and old screen doors
Youth and truth
Lies and money
Some of them are sad
And others are funny
And I've sang about sunshine
Sang about rain
Lookin out the window of a big jet plane
Songs about home and this road I'm on
And songs just to find the strength to carry on
I reckon I've written about a million songs so far
Dirty clubs and motel rooms
Trying to be a big rockstar

But all they wanna hear
Is sittin at a bar
You know, that bartender song
The one about crashing that car
So I sing it every night
But I save it for last
And everybody sings along
Might even sign me an autograph

Well I've strained my brain
And tried to search
For great ideas
It just won't work
Complex metaphors, double entendres
Trying to be more than a one hit wonder
Scheming on a rhyme
Skin racking my melon
How long I been doing this
Ain't no tellin
Working like the devil to be avant garde
Well, hell, maybe I just tried too hard
I reckon I've written about a million songs so far
Dirty clubs and motel rooms
Trying to be a big rockstar

But all they wanna hear
Is sittin at a bar
You know, that bartender song
The one about crashing that car
So I sing it every night
But I save it for last
And everybody sings along
Might even sign me an autograph

And I'm not complaining
Not at all, I'm just saying
If I could find a way
To write a million more like that one
Then maybe that drunk guy with all his sloppy friends
You can find at all our shows
Wouldn't be yelling play that trailer park song
We're just two songs in, but who knows

But all they wanna hear
Is sittin at a bar
You know, that bartender song
The one about crashing that car
So I sing it every night
But I save it for last
And everybody sings along
Might even sign me an autograph

crack me up!!! HEY NOW!!! I have been around since the beginning.. b4 sittin at a bar.. before people knew who yal were sitting in the bar b4 the show. (i did) I knew.. i was a dedicated stalker hhmmmmmhmm i mean fan!!!

  38. K.... R....

    I love this song

  39. R.... R....

The only thing wrong with the trailer park song is that it's constanly playing in my head. I love just about everything I hear from Rehab and Danny.

  40. r.... p....

best thing bout siten at a bar is it got me siten at a lap top lookin up every rehab, danny boone, brooks, demun song that I could find.. I phucking love these guys

  41. M.... D....

most of the people today that knows of Rehab only knows the "sitting at a bar" song. if you want to open some minds up you need to get buford at a show and do some golden oldies like "it don't matter" and others off southern discomfort. if you cant get buford on any shows, ask the audience if anyone knows the bufords parts on some of the songs n bring them on stage..you probably wont have very many people know the lyrics if you do it like that though..

    M.... D....

If YOU have ever been to a show, you would know that they Do a lot of songs off Southern Discomfort, and most everyone knows the lyrics because they are TRUE fans!

    M.... D....

    and they broke up

  42. D.... W....

    Truly one of Danny's best!

  43. E.... M....

My 4 year old niece lost her mom in April this year and she loves the song "can't catch up", she says that's her daddy's song to her mama. Please keep writing and pitting your music out. It helps in so many ways and heals too.

  44. E.... M....

I love almost all the songs... amazing that some people think and feel the sane way!!!

  45. G.... ....

Easily one of the best albums that I've bought in the last 10 years.

  46. H.... ....

It's like Janis Joplin and Tupac had this baby and nobody will listen.

  47. B.... ....

LIL FORSAKEN AND HIS MOMMOM LOVES THIS SONG HE KNOWS IT WORD FOR WORD

  48. c.... b....

I have loved just about everything I've heard from Rehab and I am super sad that they aren't going forward with that direction. However, my favorite albums were Graffiti the Earth and Welcome home. My favorite song of all artists and all time is This I Know, and I was trying to buy copies of the disk for friends just for that song and saw the re-release didn't have it anymore and I cried. I cried. But I am sure I will love the new incarnation too. The only real reason I liked Sittin at a bar (other than it being fun and catchy) was the exposure. I was really hoping it would take off enough to keep them making music. Because that's what its all about. But Danny is still on my list, just keep on making music!!!!

    c.... b....

Graffiti the World... Not earth.. But absolutely agree on everything you said. Sad to see the band split up after all these years but I am legit happy for Danny. He made it this far and never gave into the temptation that so many artists fall victim to after they start making a little but of money. God bless you Mr Alexander. Best of luck with everything. You still have a loyal fan here in the heart of Colorado. Peace and fish grease.

  49. J.... L....

I like the new stuff and the older stuff danny used to do. The sitting at a bar was out for a couple years before it was re-released and everyone started liking it. He's definitely toned it down and gotten more relaxed in the past few years.

    J.... L....

Actually half right. The grafetti the world version is the third version. The first version was on album to get people ready for southern discomfort. It's called sample this. Though the version you'd find online is different via torrents. In fact brooks only contribution was the crash intro. So technically they liked the re re release

  50. a.... ....

Love this shit! Come on back to toledo anytime

  51. G.... S....

i have a great copy of this song live from seattle wa, im going to upload it now

  52. C.... F....

Sittin' at a Bar is a great song, don't get me wrong... That being said I lot of the other songs better.  My iPad has every Rehab album on it and Stittin' at a Bar probably gets played the least.  Anyone else?

  53. A.... S....

Rehab...one of the greatest bands I've ever heard..made for men like myself, life is fucked up. Bartender is great but its just one of a hundred amazing rehab songs...so real, so close to home...ill miss those shows. Rehab should be famous as fuck. Too bad people are trendy fucks that don't care about REAL good songs about partying and life~

  54. H.... T....

Danny, I will tell you flat out, while "that Bartender Song" is good, it's not even close to my favorite. And another thing - I don't think I have HEARD a Rehab song I did not like. When you rolled through Big D and I missed your show, I felt like I had missed the Party of the Year. You're a musical genius, and no matter what you do or where you go, that spark continues to inspire and speak to me. Thank you for doing what you do. - T

  55. R.... S....

Ready to rock out May 9th wild bill's. ALL of yal are great....All .....love Rehab

  56. B.... B....

REHAB will live on forever in our hearts.  This song here is an Instant Classic! Keep em coming!

  57. d.... ....

Waited years for the opportunity to see Rehab and finally got to see them last month for my birthday.  I was listening to these guys long before the rerererelease of that damn sittin at the bar song.  If you don't know who steaknife is or never heard of Brooks you really need an education.  From I love to cuss to king of tweekers these guys own and have basically created their own genre that has paved the way for so many others.  Danny, Chris Crisis, Chris Hood, Doyle and Denum, you guys are the best.

  58. F.... ....

Just caught Danny and the rest of the boys from Rehab in Wichita... Amazing show and I'm stoked to see what they got to offer next!

  59. J.... M....

212 likes no dislikes great song danny boone is awesome js

  60. S.... M....

Can't wait for the concert tomorrow night in Boston, My buddy kyle has met you guys a few times out in Fort collins CO and we have been listening to your music since we were kids! I really hope to hear No Jesus for you at the show! In main stream eyes you may be a one hit wonder but to me you're the best band out there.

  61. p.... ....

Dude u guys ROCKED last night at House of Rock! Thanks for an amazing show & good luck on everyone's solo careers!!! We love you guys!!!

  62. B.... P....

Straight outta da land of Mothballs & Rattlesnakes...Danny Muthafuckin Boone

  63. N.... ....

i like ur music man and i think that you need to be promoted in PR soonest

  64. v.... ....

Love your music,  and waiting to hear more.  Love a lot more than just that Bartender song :)

  65. D.... B....

Cant wait for the Whole album to show up in my mailbox!!! love the song tho!

  66. M.... V....

Great song Danny! Thanks for signing my hat in Portland, Oregon on 2/14/2014. Can't wait to get your new album and hear what new songs you've written. I'm beyond excited! Have a safe rest of your Farewell Tour! Much love from the 503!

  67. C.... F....

Love it! I love the band and am a loyal listener! All the songs are great. Never heard one that I haven't loved. Just saw them in Colorado Springs. Great show.

  68. R.... ....

Saw Ya'll last night in Salt Lake.. F***in Killed It!!! So sad this was the farewell.. Cheers Danny!! You're responsible for some of the best music that can always seem to fit whatever mood I'm in.  Thanks for some great times!!

  69. M.... ....

You know,....Rehab has been my favorite band since before some of you could use a computer to leave YouTube comments. That they're breaking up again breaks my heart! As much as I love all their songs, this one almost makes me want to hate on Sittin At A Bar/Bartender Song because that drunk guy with his sloppy friends that only know that song could very well be the reason they're splitting up......

  70. J.... W....

song is dope af! deserves more hits!!!

  71. M.... M....

Love it, when's the solo album dropping?

  72. D.... ....

so since i haven't talked to you in a year now is this your new master plan? Love the song by the way.

  73. k.... ....

tell you the truth i hate "sittin at a bar" and danny is a fucking all hit wonder the problem is chumps only know radio hits its okay cause none of those people could feel the rest of his shit anyways its way to deep for them  to all the real rehab fan "MUCH LOVE AND KEEP EASY!"

  74. F.... S....

Danny is far from ever being a one hit wounder with all ready so many good ass songs....
lawn chair high, hey fred, sleeping giant, chico and the man, carry on, graffiti the world, lighting bolts .. too many to list Danny boon is the man such a good style..

--- Always hype him up on my website,, www.flowstyle.us     --- the source for talent

  75. y.... ....

Got tickets!!! See you again in Lawrence Kansas. farewell tour? :(  Keep on keeping on.

  76. T.... S....

I love it danny. Cant wait to see u again in cali :)

  77. J.... P....

Graffitti the world brother. Come back to Mcguffy's

  78. C.... F....

Love it Danny! It saddens me to see REHAB go but on the other hand it's super exciting to see you start a new chapter in your life! One of the things I admire about you (and Demun Jones) is that you keep on keepin on! All I wanna hear is anything Danny! Good luck! #alltheywannahear

  79. A.... J....

LOVE it Danny! The lyrics speaks volumes! I "get" it! I'm a D. Boone lover for life!

  80. T.... ....

Its hard to see the Rehab name finally disappear after so many years. I'll admit, Sittin' at a Bar is the first rehab song I ever heard, however I found so much more in Rehab. I've enjoyed songs from your time with brooks and the current incarnation of Rehab. I wish you luck if your solo career, and I hope you attain the fame your work deserves.

  81. R.... D....

Possibly the GREATEST thing I've ever heard. Danny Boone of Rehab just dropped a song that perfectly explains his situation. There's more to Danny and Rehab than the Bartender song. Same goes for everyone that ever has a huge hit. People ge...t so fixated on that one piece of work, they can't ever see past it. Kinda like how you'll always associate Dustin Diamond as Screech, David Faustino as Bud Bundy, and Mike Epps as Day-Day Top Flight Security.

    R.... D....

Hollywood calls that "type casting". Not sure if there's a phrase in the music industry that means the same thing, but it kills me to see it happen to a band with SO much talent :(

  82. C.... G....

If you've ever seen Rehab Live you'll know exactly what he's saying. LOL. See ya in Butte, MT... and when that drunk dude starts yellin you'll hear me screamin "All They Wanna Hear"!!

  83. K.... L....

Damn good track, Danny! Great to hear you and @The Mike Hartnett knocked this out of the park! Catch you next time you're in Nash!

  84. T.... ....

I fuck with this heavy, Danny. I miss your hip-hop shit, but this is honest and heartfelt. Been with Rehab since 2000, still hype about what the future holds for you Boone!

  85. b.... ....

I've often wondered what it must be like to sing the same song over, and over, and over for years.  I would assume it gets damn old quick.

Regardless, the Rehab catalog of songs is amazing.  I can't think of a single song that I don't like, but an instantly spit out a dozen or more that should have been top 40 hits.

  86. B.... ....

First off, Danny you guys are certainly not a "one hit wonder" - you guys perform the soundtrack to my life! Not just mine but many others. Your music inspires and helps people like myself get through the day. You changed lives man! Mine anyways, your my hero!

    B.... ....

You can't be a "one hit wonder" when you make every song is just as good or better then the last one. There is more to Danny Boone and rehab than "bartender song (sitting at the bar)" like:
    welcome home
    1980
    1965
    crazy girl
    can't catch up to you
    drinking problem
    graffiti the world
    kept on walking
just to name some songs I think are as good as the bartender song.
