The haunting melodies and soul piercing lyrics of this song will always touch me in a place where forever lives the sweet wonders of my youth, along with the painful memories of a love long lost... Oh if I'd only known it then.

It's because of the wonder year's that I'am here. it is also because of the show that I now reflect back occasionally and think about her: a woman I've met six years ago that I have grown to love and admire. even though her and I no longer are on the same page and haven't spoken to one another in year's, I have a tremendous amount of regret on my end for my "wrong doing" on our separation. But I never would blame her for how we turned out, I should've listened to her when she said (baby steps).she wanted to work things out! But I.....just wanted to move things along faster and that was the problem. I didn't have patience. "I just wanted my girl back"!!! Same time I never considered her wants and needs to take our separation slow give it some space to breathe. this is what can happen between someone you care about. respect them enough to wait ,allow time to heal all open wounds. if you don't ( I promise you) it would never quite heal as it is suppose to".

This is my all time favorite of Karla's. We just saw her in concert this past Friday night at Dosey-Doe in The Woodlands, Texas. Even at age 62 her voice is just as pure and clear as you hear in this video. Sadly, she did not sing this particular song, but she did a 90+ minute show for a very small crowd (maybe 60?). It was fabulous and we look forward to seeing her again soon. Thanks for posting.

I was given this Karla Bonoff album , it was a "promotion album"...and only sent to radio stations at the time....This Whole LP is so beautiful...she is a great song-writer! Young LOVE!
