Always loved Tina Turner's cover of this song, but Bonnie Tyler's original release is great! It feels a little like Bonnie is holding back on the vocals in some parts whereas she could have let some of the power she used previously with Total Eclipse of the Heart or Holding out for a Hero shine through. That said, still a great song sung by two great artists. 💕

This original version has more of a lighter, rockabilly vibe to it. Tina took it to the "stadium rock" level. Both are equally excellent, just different.

That's Tina's version.

Tina had to fight to do this song. No one believed it could be a hit after being such a flop! But she seemingly seen it, down to her [personal] reworking of the arrangement to the horse and the running and freedom of the song, and hey rest is history..... They play her version in stadiums singing to their favourite team. Bonnie's version is just under produced and her voice is pushed down.

I'm HUGE Tina's fan, but I have to admit Bonnie way better vocalist then Tina. MUCH better. More interesting and modern arrangement is the only reason why the whole world loves Tina's song and didn't even notice this one.

The original is the most authentic!

No offense to Bonnie's version, being it is the original, but I've always only known Tina Turner's version... which I consider to probably my fave Tina Turner songs... her versions sounds timeless imo... this Bonnie version is very 80's... Bonnie is a fantastic singer without a doubt, and her hit singles are her own... but a song like this I still think belongs to Tina's,sorry
